The Game The Liberty Lady Flames (16-2, 2-0 Big South) return to the Vines Center, where they will play six of their next seven contests. The string begins with first-time opponent Presbyterian (1-20, 1-15 away), Saturday at 2 p.m. Liberty will look to boost its winning streak to six against the Lady Blue Hose, a future Big South Conference member. The Last Time Out A 20-2 Liberty run helped the Lady Flames claim a 34-14 halftime advantage, Monday at Coastal Carolina. From that point on, the Lady Flames cruised to their second-straight road win to open conference play, 71-44. Megan Frazee notched 17 points and 13 rebounds for Liberty, but the Lady Flames defense was the story. Liberty came up with a season-high 12 steals and tallied 33 points off Chanticleer miscues. The Lady Flames held their fifth opponent this season under the 20-point plateau during the opening half. Lady Flames On The Air All Lady Flames basketball games can be heard LIVE on WWMC 90.9 FM "The Light." Jamie Hall, who is celebrating his 14th year of broadcasting Lady Flames basketball, will once again be handling the courtside play-by-play duties for most road games. Due to Hall s television responsibilities, Jerod Brooks will serve as the primary commentator for home games. Lady Flames On TV For the fifth year in a row, the Flames Television Network (FTN) plans to broadcast all 13 home women's basketball games. That s just the case for Carey Green, the ninth-year head coach of the Liberty Lady Flames, who has raised the program s standards to an extremely high level. Green has accumulated a 201-66 record on the Liberty bench, good for a winning percentage of.753. He ranked 12th among active NCAA Division I women s basketball coaches in winning percentage, at the beginning of the season. More importantly, Liberty has won the Big South Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times with Green as head coach. Liberty has totaled 23 or more victories during six of those years, including the 2004-05 season, which saw the Lady Flames reach the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. Green has actually been to the postseason on 19 occasions as a women s basketball coach, a span which includes a dozen years as an assistant coach at Clemson. In all but one of the 19 appearances, he has experienced the NCAA Tournament. Last season, the Lady Flames went 19-12 and tied for second place in the Big South. The season was highlighted by a 75-71 win at Virginia, which made the Lady Flames the first visiting team ever to triumph in the brand-new John Paul Jones Arena. Rebounding and defense have always been staples of Green-coached teams, and the 2006-07 Lady Flames were no exception. Liberty outrebounded opponents by an average of 10.6 caroms per game, ranking fifth nationally. The Lady Flames have now been listed among the nation s top five teams in rebounding margin for four-straight years. Liberty led the nation in the category in both 2003-04 and 2004-05. The 2005-06 season represented one of the best coaching jobs of Green s career. The Lady Flames had lost the top four scorers from the Sweet 16 squad to graduation. Moreover, freshman Megan Frazee averaged 18.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game through the first 14 games of her collegiate career, but was lost for the remainder of the season due to injury. Yet, Liberty was still able to win 25 games, capture its 10thstraight Big South title and earn its 10th-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. Green s efforts were recognized by both the Big South Conference and the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). Both groups named Green as women s basketball coach of the year at season s end. It was the third time he has won each of those honors and marked Green s second-straight selection as VaSID Coach of the Year. A key late-season conference victory over High Point in 2006 made Green the winningest coach in Big South Conference history. The previous season, Green had passed Rick Reeves as Liberty s career wins leader. The record-setting victory was just one of the many reasons the 2004-05 year was a special one on Liberty Mountain. A senior-laden Lady Flames team recorded upset wins over No. 4 seed Penn State (78-70) and No. 5 seed DePaul (88-79) in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, becoming just the second team ever to advance to the Sweet 16 as a No. 13 seed. The Lady Flames ended the season with their highest national ranking to date, No. 21 (USA Today/ESPN). Green s track record shows he has the ability to meet strong challenges. The Lady Flames have recorded two wins each over UNLV, Virginia and West Virginia and solo victories over No. 19 DePaul, James Madison, No. 17 Kansas State, No. 25 Penn State, Xavier and Wake Forest during Green s tenure. The upset victory over No. 25 Virginia in 2002 marked Liberty s first win over a Top 25 team. His record against conference foes is equally impressive. He led the Lady Flames on a Big South-record 47-game winning streak and currently has a.912 (125-12) winning percentage against conference teams. Green has marched through conference play with one or fewer setbacks five times, while guiding the Lady Flames to two undefeated conference seasons.

Presbyterian has played just four of its 21 games at home, and both Georgia and West Virginia have been among the squad s opponents during its 6,568 miles of travel. Presbyterian, a future Big South Conference member, is 0-7 versus Big South opposition this season. The closest the Lady Blue Hose have come to defeating a future conference rival was a 68-64 home setback to UNC Asheville on Jan. 5. Today s game wraps up a string of six-straight Blue Hose tilts versus Big South foes. Katlin Moore, a 5-7 freshman guard, paces the Lady Blue Hose in scoring with 9.7 ppg. Sharie Hopkins, a 6-0 junior forward/center and the lone Virginia native on the Presbyterian roster, is close behind with 9.4 ppg and a team-high 5.5 rpg. The Coaching Matchup Liberty Head Coach Carey Green is in his ninth season with the Lady Flames. He owns a 201-66 career record and is the all-time wins leader at Liberty and among Big South women s basketball coaches. His career winning percentage (.753) ranked 12th among active NCAA Division I women s basketball coaches at the beginning of the season. Jessica Vanco, a 1999 graduate of St. Bonaventure, is 35-70 in her fourth season as Presbyterian s head coach. Positive First Impressions Presbyterian is the sixth opponent Liberty is meeting for the first time this season. So far, the Lady Flames are 5-0 versus new foes, including victories over Ball State, Glenville State, Houston, McNeese State and Xavier. Home Cooking Liberty is 6-0 at the Vines Center during the 2007-08 campaign, but the Lady Flames are not the only Liberty athletic team which has benefitted from the friendly confines of the Vines Center. Liberty is unbeaten in the last 27 athletic contests played at the 17-year-old on-campus facility, since the volleyball team lost to James Madison on Sept. 18. The Liberty netters won 11-straight matches to end the year, the wrestling team tied N.C. State and the Flames men s basketball team has been victorious in its first nine home decisions of the season. Today, Liberty will have a chance to add two more wins to the streak, as the women s and men s basketball teams will play a day/night doubleheader. Liberty has never lost to either the Lady Buccaneers or Chanticleers under head coach Carey Green s direction, going 39-0 against the pair of South Carolina institutions. This is the 10th time in Liberty s 17 seasons as a Big South member the Lady Flames have started conference play with a 2-0 record. Liberty went on to win the Big South title on nine of those occasions, with the only exception coming last season. Bouncing Back with a Win Liberty has never lost back-to-back Big South Conference games under Carey Green s direction. In fact, the Lady Flames have not lost consecutive conference tilts since Feb. 20 & 22, 1997, when Liberty fell to UNC Greensboro and Winthrop in its last two regular-season contests. Big South Recognition Liberty became the first conference team to garner a quartet of Big South Player of the Week honors this season, and Megan Frazee became the first three-time winner of the award. Frazee earned the honor on Nov. 26, Jan. 7 and Jan. 21, while sister Moriah Frazee was recognized on Dec. 10. Megan Frazee has captured nine Big South Player of the Week awards in her career, while the conference honor was the first of sister Moriah Frazee s time at Liberty. Triple Digits Inside the Furnace Liberty s 100-29 victory over Virginia Union on Nov. 30 marked the Lady Flames first 100-point game since a 103-61 triumph over Cedarville, Dec. 13, 1997 at the Vines Center. It was the Lady Flames first 100-point output since Carey Green took over as head coach, prior to the 1999-200 season. In fact, Green s Liberty teams, which have been built around rebounding and defense, have only gone over the 90-point plateau seven times in his nine seasons. A Tradition of Success Liberty finished the 2006-07 season with a 19-12 record, sealing the Lady Flames 11th-straight winning campaign. Lady Flame seniors Allyson Fasnacht, Egle Smigelskaite and Courtney Watkins have been a part of 86 victories in their three-plus years with the program and have won at a.761 clip. The trio is the last portion of the 2005 Sweet 16 qualifier remaining on the Liberty roster. The Bench Bunch Liberty s bench players, highlighted by Molly Frazee, Rachel Hammond and Rachel McLeod, have been a key component in the Lady Flames success. The Lady Flames reserves have outscored their opponent s counterparts in 11 of 18 games this year. Liberty is averaging 20.4 bench points per contest, 4.5 more than its opponents. Four times (Glenville State, Richmond, Virginia Tech and Xavier), the Lady Flames have limited their foe to four or fewer bench points. Green s Milestone Win Liberty Head Coach Carey Green reached a coaching milestone on Jan. 19, as the Lady Flames 82-53 triumph at Charleston Southern was No. 200 of his nine-year career. He became the first Big South women s basketball coach to reach 200 wins and fittingly, his milestone came against a Big South foe. Green has posted 125 of his victories (over 60 percent) against conference opposition. Green s 100th win also came during the Beach Trip, on Jan. 17, 2004 at Coastal Carolina. Liberty s head coach notched a 69-58 win over his alma mater, aided by 25 points and 11 rebounds from Katie Feenstra.

The Lady Flames stand eighth in field goal percentage defense (.343), 11th in won-lost percentage (.882), 16th in field goal percentage (.465), 16th in rebounding margin (+7.9) and 21st in scoring margin (+14.8). Additionally, junior Megan Frazee sits 15th in the nation in free throw percentage (.885). Green Tops in Big South Liberty Head Coach Carey Green currently ranks as the winningest coach in Big South Conference history with a.753 winning percentage. His 201 career wins also put him atop the conference s coaching list. Green is 103-11 in Big South Conference games and is also the all-time leader in Big South Conference victories. He passed former Radford coach Luby Lichonczak with a home win over Charleston Southern, Feb. 19, 2007. Liberty Wraps Up Another Winning Season With Monday s win at Coastal Carolina, Liberty s 16th of the year, the Lady Flames have clinched their 12th-consecutive winning season and the 16th in program history. Additonally, Liberty has recorded 13 winning seasons in its 20 campaigns as a NCAA Division I member. The Lady Flames are 4-1 versus in-state foes so far, defeating Virginia Union (Nov. 30), James Madison (Dec. 4), Richmond (Jan. 5) and George Mason (Jan. 15) and losing at Virginia Tech (Nov. 19). Later on this season, the Lady Flames are scheduled to play Radford twice (Feb. 6 and March 7). A year ago, the Lady Flames were victorious in six of 10 games against Commonwealth opposition. A Hard Row to Hoe Six of Liberty s 2006-07 opponents earned spots in the NCAA Tournament (George Washington, James Madison, Marist, Pittsburgh, Texas-Arlington and UNC Asheville), and this season s schedule appears to be just as difficult. Additionally, Lady Flame junior guard/forward Megan Frazee has been tabbed the Preseason Big South Player of the Year for the second-straight time, in a poll of the Big South coaches, sports information directors and members of the media. The Lady Flames return three starters and nine letterwinners from their 2006-07 squad, which went 19-12 overall and tied for second in the conference with a 10-4 loop mark. Liberty was ousted in the Big South semifinals by Radford, who edged the Lady Flames for first place in the preseason conference poll. The Highlanders, the 2007 Big South Championship runners-up, took 16 of 25 first-place votes and 162 total points. Liberty finished six points back, with 156 points. The Lady Flames received the remaining nine first-place votes. Defending Big South Championship titlist UNC Asheville, the host of the 2008 conference tournament, was voted third with 113 points. High Point, the 2007 Big South regular-season champion, claimed 81 points to take fourth place. The fifth and sixth-place teams finished very closely behind the Panthers. Winthrop was voted fifth with 80 points, while Coastal Carolina took sixth with 77 points. Charleston Southern is predicted to finish seventh, as the Buccaneers tallied 31 points. Frazee, Liberty s lone representative on the preseason all-conference roster, was a first-team All-Big South honoree a season ago. She led the conference in rebounds (8.5 rpg), free throw percentage (.772) and three-point field goal percentage (.410) as a sophomore. The 6-3 guard/forward also ranked second with 17.2 ppg. The Lady Flames notched a season-high eight votes on Dec. 24 and earned seven votes in the most recent poll, released on Jan. 21. In the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll, Liberty garnered its first vote on Dec. 18 and received 11 votes, equaling its most so far this season, in the Jan. 22 poll. The Lady Flames had the 34th-most votes in the most recent poll. Composure in Close Situations The Lady Flames are now 6-1 in games decided by 10 points or less during the 2007-08 campaign, after prevailing in their last five single-digit decisions. By contrast, Liberty was only 6-10 in such games a season ago. At Home on the Road Liberty has only played six home games out of its first 18 contests of the season. However, the Lady Flames have not minded life on the road, as evidenced by their 7-2 road ledger. Liberty opened the year with consecutive road triumphs and later claimed tournament championships with victories at Xavier (Nov. 25) and UNLV (Dec. 21). Liberty is 76-35 in road games under Green s guidance, winning at a.685 rate. The Lady Flames have posted six-straight winning seasons on the road. Triple the Trouble Liberty sports the only set of triplets currently playing for the same NCAA Division I women s basketball team--juniors Megan, Molly and Moriah Frazee. Through 18 games, the Frazees are averaging 37.4 points and 18.9 rebounds per outing, good for 52.7 percent of the Lady Flames scoring output and 45.6 percent of the team s boards. Collectively, the Frazee triplets have totaled 2,253 career points and 1,203 career rebounds. Megan, Molly and Moriah Frazee started together for the first time this season, Dec. 8 versus Binghamton, helping the Lady Flames defeat the Bearcats. She became the 19th Lady Flame ever to pull down 500 rebounds, Dec. 21 at UNLV. Frazee then scored career point No. 1,000 at No. 4 North Carolina, Dec. 30. The guard/forward is the 11th member of Liberty s 1,000-point club and is the third fastest to reach the mark, doing so in her 58th career game. Frazee is the sixth Lady Flame to top both 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. Katie Feenstra, Elena Kisseleva, Sharon Snodgrass, Pam Wilder and Sharon Wilkerson are the other members of this exclusive club. Liberty s Iron Woman Liberty senior shooting guard Courtney Watkins has yet to miss a contest, in the first three-plus seasons of her Lady Flame career. Her consecutive games played streak currently sits at 113. Liberty s contest against Houston on Nov. 24 was Watkins 100th-consecutive game played for the Lady Flames. The string included a school and facility-record 64.6 percent outburst against Virginia Union in the Nov. 30 home opener. Liberty has won all five games this season in which it has shot 50 percent or better and is 45-0 in such contests under head coach Carey Green. Cleaning the Glass The Lady Flames have outrebounded their opponents in 13 of their last 15 outings. For the season, Liberty has won the rebounding battle 14 out of 17 times and is 13-1 when it does so. Lack of Overtime The Lady Flames 64-62 overtime setback at High Point on Jan. 20, 2007 marked the first time in Liberty s previous 101 contests it had to play extra time. The Lady Flames most recent win in overtime came on Jan. 6, 2004, when Liberty defeated American, 76-72, on the road in double overtime. No current Lady Flame has won an overtime contest in college. Liberty s most recent overtime contest at the Vines Center was a memorable one. The Lady Flames defeated Virginia, 77-69, in overtime on Nov. 26, 2002, to claim their first-ever win over the Cavaliers. Hot in the Furnace The 2007-08 campaign is the 16th season the Liberty University women s basketball team has called the Vines Center its full-time home. Liberty s first-ever contest at the Vines Center was an 86-74 loss to East Tennessee State, on Dec. 7, 1990, but the Furnace has served as a favorable venue for the Lady Flames over the years. Liberty is 171-49 (.777) all-time at the Vines Center, including 6-0 this season. Long Distance Connection The Lady Flames have made at least one three-pointer in a school-record 89- straight games, a streak which began on Feb. 26, 2005. Liberty set the mark at UNLV on Dec. 21. The Lady Flames previously went 82-consecutive games with a threepointer between Jan. 24, 1998 and Dec. 20, 2000. There is Only One Junior guard/forward Megan Frazee has gone over the 20-point barrier 23 times during her Liberty career. However, she is the only current Lady Flame with a 20-point game to her credit. (Allyson Fasnacht and Moriah Frazee both own career highs of 19 points.) The last time a Liberty player other than Megan Frazee scored 20 points was March 22, 2005, when Katie Feenstra totaled 29 points against DePaul, enabling the Lady Flames to reach the Sweet 16. Here is a look at some of the notable accomplishments from the contest: -- The Lady Flames field goal percentage (.646, 42-65) set new team and Vines Center single-game records. -- Liberty s 11 three-pointers equaled the most the Lady Flames have ever made in a game at the Vines Center. -- Liberty s 33 assists set a program NCAA Division I record. -- Moriah Frazee went 8-for-8 from the field to establish a new Vines Center record for single-game field goal percentage. -- Liberty s 100 points marked the eighth time in program history the Lady Flames have scored in triple digits. Lady Flames in Elite Company Liberty is both shooting the ball well from the field and limiting its opponents field goal percentage this season. The Lady Flames rank 16th nationally in field goal percentage (.465) and are eighth in field goal percentage defense (.343). Liberty is one of six teams in the nation to rank in the top 20 in both categories, joining No. 1 Connecticut, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 6 Baylor, No. 12 West Virginia and Utah. Tournament Success Liberty claimed its second tournament championship of the season with a 70-68 victory over host UNLV in the title tilt of the inaugural Lady Rebel Christmas Classic on Dec. 21. Megan Frazee was voted tournament MVP and sister Moriah Frazee joined her on the all-tournament team. The Lady Flames previously won the championship trophy at the Nov. 23-25 National City Xavier Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio. Liberty won all three of its games, becoming only the second visiting team ever to capture first place in the tournament. Megan Frazee garnered tournament MVP honors after spearheading Liberty s secondhalf comeback against Xavier and Moriah Frazee made the all-tournament team. It is believed to be the first time in Liberty history the Lady Flames have won a pair of in-season tournaments during a single campaign.

Game 1 Greensboro, N.C. Liberty opened the second half with a 13-0 run, breaking open a tight, seasonopening contest at UNC Greensboro. The Lady Flames went on to claim a 62-44 win at Fleming Gym, Tuesday evening, opening its season with a road win for the first time since the 1979-80 campaign. Molly Frazee s career-best 17 points helped Liberty open its 2007-08 season at 1-0. The Lady Flames forced 19 turnovers, limited the Spartans to 32.6 percent from the field and owned a 42-25 edge on the glass. UNC Greensboro fashioned an early 7-0 run, taking a 9-2 advantage on a pair of Agne Girstautaite free throws at the 12:53 mark. The Lady Flames held UNCG scoreless for nearly six minutes late in the half and were able to open up their largest advantage of the opening 20 minutes, 23-17, on Rachel Hammond s third field goal of the half. Liberty owned a 23-21 halftime edge. Megan Frazee initiated a 13-0 second half-opening run by the Lady Flames with a pair of layups. Rebecca Lightfoot s 10-foot baseline jumper with 14:30 left ended the run and put Liberty on top by a 36-21 count. Molly Frazee later poured in eight-straight points to highlight a 12-0 Liberty run, which gave Liberty a 20-point lead, 50-30, with 7:05 remaining. From that point on, the Lady Flames cruised to their fourth-consecutive victory in a season opener and defeated the Spartans for the first time since March 1, 1997. The Lady Flames held off North Carolina A&T by a 68-64 score, at the Corbett Sports Center. A three-pointer by Rachel McLeod capped an 11-0 Liberty surge during the opening half, putting the Lady Flames on top, 26-17. Liberty, which shot 51.9 percent from the field during the opening 20 minutes, took a 41-34 lead into the locker room. The homestanding Aggies whittled away at the Liberty advantage throughout the second half. A 13-5 surge cut the deficit to a single point, 53-52, with 13:10 left. A Ta Wuana Cook three-pointer and two Lamona Smalley foul shots put North Carolina A&T ahead, 59-57, at 4:29. Liberty responded with a 10-0 run, spanning the next 4:09 and featuring a Courtney Watkins triple and an Allyson Fasnacht three-point play. Game 3 Blacksburg, Va. Liberty opened up a 10-point halftime lead at Virginia Tech, but the Hokies came out of the intermission on a 23-6 run, propelling them to a 73-68 decision at Cassell Coliseum. Virginia Tech improved to 14-0 all-time versus Liberty. The Hokies controlled the early part of the game, and a 7-0 run capped by a Brittany Cook layup at 12:00 put them on top, 16-9. Six different Lady Flames scored during their most effective stretch of the first half, a 13-2 surge. Rachel McLeod s close-range basket lifted Liberty to a 38-28 advantage, and the Lady Flames took the same 10- point edge (40-30) into the locker room. It took the Hokies just 3:14 to erase Liberty s lead, and the home team had built a 53-46 edge, a little over six minutes into the half. The Lady Flames battled back and briefly retook the lead at the 3:44 mark, when Moriah Frazee s layup made the count 62-61, Liberty. The score was deadlocked at 64 apiece when an intentional foul call paved the way for a four-point Hokie possession. The Lady Flames were unable to get any closer the rest of the way, and Virginia Tech made three-of-four charity tosses in the final minute to seal its 73-68 triumph. After Marcy Robinson got McNeese State on the scoreboard with a mid-range jumper at the 16:18 mark, Liberty answered with 14- consecutive points. The Lady Flames run included a trio of three-pointers, and the Liberty advantage ballooned to 20-2 when Molly Frazee sank a pair of free throws at 11:53. Game 5 Cincinnati, Ohio Sisters Megan and Moriah Frazee both fashioned double-doubles against Houston and Liberty held off the Cougars valiant comeback attempt to prevail, 70-61. Megan and Moriah Frazee combined to score the Lady Flames first 14 points of the evening, but a Ryan Bradley threepointer for Houston knotted the score at 10-10 with 14:11 left in the first half. Liberty answered with a 12-3 spurt, featuring two field goals apiece by Molly Frazee and Rebecca Lightfoot. At the conclusion of the run, Liberty s lead was 22-13 at 8:26. Houston came right back with a 16-4 run, taking its first lead of the game, 29-26, on Tye Jackson s threepointer from the corner, 26 seconds before intermission. Game 7 Lynchburg, Va. Playing its home opener after six games away from the Vines Center, the Lady Flames shot a team and Vines Centerrecord 64.6 percent from the field in a 100-29 win over Virginia Union. The Lady Flames scored 100 points for the first time in Carey Green s nine seasons at the helm. The Lady Flames and Panthers combined to score on their first seven possessions of the game. Liberty owned a 9-6 advantage after the barrage, which featured a pair of hoops by Moriah Frazee. Liberty held Virginia Union to a single field goal over a 12-and-a-half minute span. During the stretch, the Lady Flames ripped off a 34-2 run. Liberty connected on six triples during the extended surge, two apiece by Alexandria Bream and Allyson Fasnacht, taking a 41-8 lead. A Dashia Chandler three-point play kickstarted an ensuing 5-0 Virginia Union surge. However, Liberty tallied eight of the half s final 10 markers to claim a 49-15 halftime edge. Liberty made four of its five field goal attempts during an early 8-0 run, giving the Lady Flames their first double-digit advantage. Courtney Watkins wrapped up the surge with a layup off a Kittery Maine steal, pushing the Liberty edge to 18-6 at the 10:34 mark. Game 13 Chapel Hill, N.C. Megan Frazee became the 11th Liberty player to reach 1,000 career points, but the Lady Flames saw their nine-game winning streak halted by No. 4 North Carolina, 88-67. Frazee scored on the first Liberty possession of the afternoon, putting back her own missed shot for the Lady Flames only lead of the game. North Carolina then roared back with 11-unanswered points and went ahead by an 11-2 margin when Jessica Breland made both of her free throws at the 16:29 mark. Frazee s 999th and 1,000th career points came when she banked in a shot from the right block with 9:23 showing on the firsthalf clock. Her milestone connection ignited an extended, 13-4 Liberty run. Frazee s third field goal of the surge pulled her team to within two points, 25-23, 6:17 before the break. Cetera DeGraffenreid s fast break layup off a Tar Heel steal at the 2:23 mark finished an ensuing 14-4 North Carolina surge. LaToya Pringle contributed five points to the run, which boosted coach Sylvia Hatchell s squad s edge to 39-27. North Carolina then took a 45-31 halftime lead. North Carolina s initial three-point connection of the contest, by Rebecca Gray, enabled the Tar Heels to claim a 20-point advantage with 13:44 on the clock, 60-40. The Liberty women s basketball team held Richmond to a single field goal during a 14-minute stretch of the second half, as the Lady Flames prevailed in a defensive struggle, 45-38. Liberty won despite making only three shots from the field in the second half. Megan Frazee, who finished with a game-high 21 markers and eight rebounds, scored Liberty s first seven points, helping stake the Lady Flames to an early 9-4 edge. The Spiders came back to tie the score twice during an ensuing 7-2 spurt. Megan Frazee then closed out the half in the same manner she had started it. She made back-to-back layups, giving Liberty a 25-16 halftime edge. Richmond tallied the initial seven points of the second half, trimming its deficit to 25-23 when Katie Holzer sank a layup, 2:48 after the intermission. Game 15 Johnson City, Tenn. Liberty came from behind with a gameending 9-2 run at East Tennessee State, claiming a hard-fought, 64-60 victory at the Memorial Center. Molly Frazee s three-point play with 1:05 left put the Lady Flames ahead for good. Liberty drained its first five shots from the field, running out to an early 11-2 advantage. Megan Frazee closed out the surge with a baseline jumper at the 17:47 mark. The Lady Flames were then able to score only four points over the next 12:19, and the Liberty drought enabled ETSU to take its first lead, 17-15, on Devin Thompson s oldfashioned three-point play, 6:46 before halftime. The two sides then went back and forth for the remainder of the opening 20 minutes. Jenny Norman s layup at the 17-second mark gave the Lady Bucs a 30-29 advantage at the intermission. The Lady Flames got off to a strong start in the second half. Liberty put together a 10-0 spurt, keeping ETSU off the scoreboard for nearly five minutes. The run resulted in a 41-32 Lady Flame edge. East Tennessee State battled back and a 10-2 run put the Lady Bucs back on top, 55-53, with 3:19 remaining. The ETSU lead stood at 58-55 at 2:05. Megan Frazee cut the deficit to one, after going two-for-two from the line at 2:01. Sister Molly Frazee followed with the aforementioned threepoint play with 1:05 left, giving her squad the lead for good at 60-58. An 11-2 surge early in the second half helped the Liberty women s basketball team break open a close game against George Mason, and the Lady Flames went on to claim a 69-54 victory over the Patriots. Liberty s early edge reached five points before the visiting Patriots fashioned an 11-2 surge. Eugenia Broadus connections from the line left the Patriots in front, 18-14. The Lady Flames went back on top after a 7-1 burst. Molly Frazee s driving layup at the 5:56 mark gave Liberty a 23-21 edge. The two squads continued to exchange the lead over the next several minutes, trading the advantage six times over the remainder of the stanza. Liberty closed out the half with an 8-0 surge over the final 2:05.
