2007 Southwest Pacific Regional Championships GENERAL INFORMATION The 2007 Southwest Pacific Regional Championships will be held on October 5 8, 2006 at the Culver Ice Rink, 4545 Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City, California. It is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and hosted by the All Year Figure Skating Club The Southwest Pacific Regional Championships will be conducted in accordance with the rules of U.S. Figure Skating. This competition will be governed by all rules applicable to the 2006-07 competitive season. Eligibility to enter the Competition: Skaters must be current members of U.S. Figure Skating and have permission of their home club. Further eligibility is determined by test and age qualifications as per current U.S. Figure Skating rules. Age and tests as of September 1, 2006 shall govern. Skaters may be required to provide a birth certificate as proof of age, if requested. Qualifying: Results of the 2007 Southwest Pacific Regional Championships will determine which skaters will qualify for the 2007 Pacific Coast Sectional Championships for the Novice, Junior and Senior Singles Free Skating and the Novice Pairs and Dance events. Results of the 2007 Southwest Pacific Regional Championships will determine which skaters will qualify for the 2007 U.S. Junior Championships for the Juvenile and Intermediate Singles Free Skating, Pairs, and Dance events. Results of the 2007 Pacific Coast Sectional Championships will determine which skaters will qualify for the 2007 U.S Championships for the Novice, Junior and Senior Singles Free Skating, Pairs, and Dance events. Calculation of all results and the determination of the number of skaters who will qualify from each event will be in accordance with current U.S. Figure Skating rules. REGISTRATION TABLE A registration table will be set just inside the door of the Culver Ice Rink on the dates of the competition one hour prior to the first event. All entrants are required to register to receive their credentials. Music must be turned in at the time of registration. BULLETINS AND NOTICES An Official Bulletin Board or wall space so designated will be maintained at the Culver Ice Rink and will contain official information only. Notices posted here are considered sufficient notice to all entrants. Check frequently for any change in the schedule or other notices. Additional information can also be found at the All Year FSC website, www.allyearfsc.com AWARDS Awards will be presented to the 1 st through 4 th place competitors in each event as soon as possible following the posting of the results. Awards will be given for qualifying round placements, for those events that require initial rounds. For events with Short and Free Skating programs, awards will only be given for the final combined results, and not for individual placements in the Short Program or Free Skating segments. CREDENTIALS/ TICKETS Competitors, one Chaperone, and all Coaches, Officials, and Volunteers will be provided a credential for identification purposes and admission to the arena. Each competitor may request one additional chaperone s badge at a cost of $15 (request form provided in packet). Coaches must hold current membership for both U.S. Figure Skating and the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) in order to be issued a credential. Membership forms for the PSA can be obtained on the PSA web site at www.skatepsa.org. Membership forms for U.S. Figure Skating can be obtained through any member club or on the U.S. Figure Skating web site at www.usfigureskating.org. (See Rule 3032). There will be an admission fee for persons who do not have a credential. Admission prices are as follows: All Event Tickets will be $35. Daily admission prices will be $10 for ages 12 and up. Children under 12 are free. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO AND OTHER VENDORS The official photographer will be Joanne Funakoshi. Award photos will be taken as soon as possible following the posting of results. Group photos will be taken of each event and individual photos may be arranged with the photographer. Absolutely no flash photography is allowed of competitors on the ice. The flash may cause distraction leading to error or injury. The official videographer is Hurd Video. Personal video taping, using hand-held camera and from the stands, is allowed of your skater only. No tripods may be set up and taping will not be permitted at rink side. In accordance with U.S. Figure Skating rules, you may only tape your own skater and no one else in the event or other events. Vendors with skating-related items may be found outside the main entrance of Culver Ice Rink during practice ice and competition times. Concessions may be purchased at the Culver Ice Rink snack bar.

ARENA The competition will be held at the Culver Ice Rink, 4545 Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City, California. Ice Surface: The ice surface is 85 x 200 with slightly rounded corners. Skaters in the qualifying events at the 2007 Southwest Pacific Regional Championships may purchase official practice ice sessions for $15 per skater per session. Competitors will be allowed to purchase one session per program (Short Program & Free Skate). Each skater s music will be played once per assigned session. Competitors will not be automatically assigned practice sessions when they enter the competition. PRACTICE ICE (Continued) Unofficial practice ice sessions may be offered for a $15 fee, if time allows in the schedule. Competitors will be notified if these additional practice sessions are available. Music will not be played on unofficial practice ice sessions. Warm-up sessions (20 minutes) will be scheduled for qualifying events, if time permits. There will be no charge for these sessions and competitors will be automatically assigned. Music will not be played on warm-up sessions. TRANSPORTATION The nearest airport is the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). LAX is served by all major airlines and car rental companies. Commercial airport shuttle service and taxi service is available. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) The TSA of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has very strict screening guidelines for transporting sports equipment. It prohibits certain sporting equipment from being brought on-board an aircraft, including but not limited to ice skates. While these items are prohibited from your carry-on luggage, they may be transported to your destination in your checked baggage. Any sharp objects in checked baggage should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and security screeners and/or damage to other luggage.

Driving Directions: From 405 North, Exit at Culver Blvd. Turn left as you exit the freeway, turn right at Braddock. Go to Sepulveda Blvd., turn right and the rink will be a short distance ahead on the right hand side. From 405 South, Exit at Washington and Culver Blvd. Turn left when you exit the freeway. Go to Culver Blvd and turn left. Go to Sepulveda Blvd, turn right and the rink will be about a mile up on the right hand side. PARKING Parking at the Culver Ice Rink is in the parking lot on the premises. There are a limited number of spaces and parking can be difficult during large or well attended events. There is metered parking along the street on Sepulveda Blvd. There is also parking on other surrounding streets. Please consider time needed to find parking when planning your arrival for your practice ice and your event. Skaters may be dropped off at the front entrance if necessary. This schedule is subject to change based on the number of entries in each event. As soon as possible after the close of entries, a new tentative schedule of events will be available on the All Year Figure Skating Club website www.allyearfsc.com Skaters will receive confirmation of their event by e-mail or regular mail as soon as it is available. The skating order and group divisions (if applicable) for each event shall be announced and posted in accordance with U.S. Figure Skating Rules. Any schedule changes will be posted on the website prior to the competition and on the Official Bulletin Board or wall space so designated at the Culver Ice Rink at the start of the competition. Posted schedule supersedes any previously distributed schedules.
