Union Academy Newsletter Friday, May 23 Friday, May 30 Page 2 Announcements COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS for UA commitment: Freshmen - 15 Hrs; Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors- 30 Hrs Each Year; Commitment by Graduation- 105+ Hrs of Community Service. Volunteer positions available, see Mrs. Kerr. Seniors, PLEASE HAVE ALL HOURS turned into Mrs. Kerr by Friday, May 9. Medication Pick Up All Medications must be picked up from the UA health rooms by the last day of school, June 4, 2014. Medications will need to be picked up by the parent /guardian; students may not transport medication to or from school. Any medication that is not picked up will be disposed after the last day of school. A new Medication Consent Form must be submitted if the student will need this medication for the 2014-2015 school year. Thanks & have a happy healthy summer!! UA Families: We have begun testing season at UA. We ask that all students be picked up promptly afterschool unless they are staying after to utilize the Silent Study facilities in our Media Center. Silent Study lasts from May 21- June 4 th, 3:30-5:00pm. 4th grade Bridging Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on June 3 rd in the Lower Campus gymnasium. Families buy the Scrip gift cards at face value UA keeps the difference. Retailers include: Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Lowe s, Chick-Fil-A, Olive Garden, Gap, Amazon, and 100 s more. Last year, total sales of $87,000 generated $4,376 of profit. Only 10% of UA families participated! Just imagine, if only 200 families spend $110/month and our school earns an average of 5% on those purchases, we could make $15,000 in one year! How to Order Scrip Gift Cards: 1. Fill out the Scrip order form (found on the Scrip page on the UA website) 2. Attach payment to form and send with your child or drop off at either campus. 3. If cards are available immediately, they will be given to you that day or the next. If cards need to be ordered, they will be available by the end of the week.
