SECCA NEWSLETTER September 2014 The full hrottle The Red Zone GOD S COUNTRY BOY CAN THRIVE Most everyone here in the good ole state of Alabama has heard the song "Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Jr. As a young man I used to love that song and I believed every word of it as I sang along. After surviving for over 30 years as a country boy, surviving began to lose its savor. I was tired of just surviving and I was ready to experience a life of thriving. If you read the latter part of Genesis and on into Exodus you will see that God's own people found themselves enslaved to the culture of a foreign country, Egypt. You could say they were just surviving. God told Moses to kill a lamb and apply the blood of the Lamb to their doorpost, and if they would do this he would bring them out with silver and gold and there would be no sick among their tribes. God didn't say run, fight, march on Wall Street or protest, He just said to apply the blood. Somehow 3 million slaves, surviving with poor diets, with no money and with no military power, got sick and tired of surviving and found the faith to do what God said to do and applied the blood to their doorpost, looking forward to what God said he would do. If you read the scripture you will find that He not only delivered them from their bondage but He provided wealth and health also. My question to you is: why are you, as a child of God, still living in bondage today, as a slave to the culture of this world, when not the blood of a lamb, but the blood of God's own Son Jesus Christ has already been applied to your doorpost!!!!!! We are not doing rituals trying to get God to do something we are looking back on what's already occurred. Country boys/girls can survive, but God's boys/girls can Thrive. Are you ready to Thrive? Stony Stony How Lonesome Are Ya? Great Turnout for Round 2 The Lord provided a great rain on Thursday evening prior to the race on Saturday September 13 to allow some fun without the dust this go round. The course was typical Stony terrain with hills, rocks, mud, more rocks, and more hills. Cliff Ousley bounced back after a DNF at the Chicken House to finish on top of the podium for the Overall win followed by Steve Nicholas III and Tanner McCoy. Toby Jolly turned in a solid performance in B Senior going 1-1 followed by Brandon Mclain and Roland Graves finishing 2nd and 3rd. The Womens class had Julie Ousley, Kathryn Hyde and Kallie Donovan all finishing the first moto within one minute of each other. Hyde took the win for the day going 2-1 with Ousley and Donovan claiming 2nd and 3rd. Kyle Sharp had a pretty rough first moto but bounced back to finish 8th overall in the second one. 27th overall for the day. Jacob Robertson in Open D and Nicholas Magin of 251 Open C drag race during the 2nd moto. Robertson finished the day in 2nd place behind Joe Doppler and ahead of Josh Burke. Mason James squeezed out that final spot on the podium with a little help from Chandler Craig had problems in the second moto after finishing only 3 seconds out of first place in moto 1. Dylan Smith and Nic Adams were the top two in B250 and under.

Three Races - Three Overall Winners Nicholas III Dominates Both Motos in Troy The Chase Is On. The Troy crew did a fantastic job of designing and laying out a course that pretty much hit the nail on the head for an hour long race for each of the two motos. Moto 2 was the closest as Steve Nicholas III completed 3 laps on the 9.5 mile course in 1:00:20. That is doggone close right there. Tyler Carter and Cliff Ousley rounded out the podium for overall. 153 contenders started the day in the adult race with 137 starting the 2nd moto. A few mishaps with some injuries occurred and we continue to pray for the riders healings. The Super Senior class had 12 to line up and tackle the day with David Neil, Michael Schrimsher, and Tim Morgan taking the top three spots on the podium. Phil Whisenant and John Huggins rounded out the top 5. Brian McCall and Kyle Sharp duked it out all day in XC2 swapping positions in the motos with McCall winning on the tiebreaker. Dustin Stevens completed the podium in his best ride of the season to this point. Lee Julian rode to a 3rd place finish in B250 where lots of fast youngsters have hit the starting line at each event this season. There were 14 here and Chandler Craig avenged his problems at Stony by taking the top spot on the podium followed by Mason James. James crashed at Craig s back fender within hollering distance of the checkered flag in the second moto. Great competition!! Grant Henderson gets out of the gate quick going into turn one and stays out front all day. Henderson grabbed the top spot on the podium of the hot Junior class that is loaded with fast talent. Cale Kress, Tanner Jones, Riley Kilpatrick, and Payton Attaway rounded out the top 5.
