About H2O Being centrally based in the UK allows us to provide delivery of our hot tubs UK wide. From Cornwall to Scotland, we can pretty much deliver anywhere in the UK. All of our hot tubs are constructed using the best internal components and come with Balboa control systems. If you do your research, you will find these are the leading brand for control systems within the hot tub industry. They are not only reliable but the parts are very easy to obtain in the UK. They also provide the most efficient heating system, which means our hot tubs use up to 40% less electricity than a standard non-balboa control system. The pumps we use in our hot tubs are 3hp jet pumps - these produce a powerful massage in both our single and twin pump systems. We also only use LX or DXD pumps in our hot tubs which are 2inch x 2inch in size the standard size in the hot tub industry meaning they are easy to obtain within the UK. All of our current hot tub frames are built using pressure treated wood which comes with a 10 year guarantee. However, come late 2016, we will be launching a new design using an aluminum frame. This will be 20-30% lighter than our standard pressure-wood frame and come with its own lifetime guarantee! This is new to the market and (as far as we can see) hasn t been used by anyone else in the industry. A lot of companies use stainless steel, which in itself is very heavy and is also used to support the acrylic shell both around and the underside. Our acrylic shell is self-supporting so there is no need to use such heavy materials. We use one of the strongest acrylics on the market for the shell of all of our H2O hot tubs (the bit you sit in)! Lucite acrylic is not only strong - it can be half the thickness of cheaper, non-branded acrylic and still be stronger. Lucite also contains microban which helps to stop the build up of foreign bodies/bacteria which can form on the shell of the hot tub. A lot of companies claim their hot tubs are made with either Lucite or Aristec but this may not always be the case. The cost to build with Lucite is near to 200 per hot tub more than using standard non-branded acrylic so always check when buying a cheaper hot tub that it is in fact made with Lucite or Aristec. For us the insulation is one of the most important elements when designing our hot tubs. Our hot tubs all come with a 100mm cover as standard which is twice the thickness of that used by even bigger hot tub companies. We do this as the lid is the most important part of retaining the heat. We also cover all of our cabinets and the floor of the hot tub using a heat-lock insulation sheet. To further retain the heat, we use around an inch of CFC foam on the back of the acrylic shell (we purposely don t use too much so you can still get to important parts if you ever need to make a repair). Along with excellent insulation, our hot tubs are all installed with a dedicated circulation pump. This means a much smaller pump is used to circulate the water through the heater running at 0.25-0.35amps - making ours hot tubs even more efficient. What to consider when you are buying a hot tub? Firstly and probably the most important thing to consider, is the area in which the hot tub is going to go. There are a number of surfaces you can put it on however, the ideal base would be a concrete base (with at least 4inches of concrete) with hardcore underneath. Second choice would be decking. If you are placing your hot tub on decking then it will need to either be reinforced or built directly on a concrete or slabbed base. Third option is gravel - the ground underneath will need to be solid and we would advise 4-6inches of gravel. However, gravel isn t preferable as it can get stuck on your feet and is easily transferred inside the hot tub, which can cause scratches to the acrylic. What shape? Either of the above look nice so it s all down to the space you have and your personal preference. Square hot tubs tend to be more popular, mainly due to the option of having a lounger seat in the hot tub (who doesn t want to lie down in a hot tub looking at the stars?!). However, our circle hot tubs are ideal for those who are limited with space. Which Size? Again, this comes down to the size of your garden and how many people will be using it. Most of our customers who tend to use the hot tub for family use only usually go for a 2x2m size hot tub.
