Greenwin Spir it It's a GREEN CHRISTMAS December saw Greenwin properties from far and wide decking their halls with gorgeous Christmas decor and throwing holiday parties for their tenants. From a visit from Mr. Claus himself at 104 Confederation in St. Thomas to resident game nights that came complete with home baked goodies and presents for all, Greenwinites proved how much they love the season. A special shout-out to the residents at 88 Erskine who filled up their mitten tree once again this year (all mittens were donated to the San Romanoway Revitalization Association). Check out tons of photos from the parties and see the sparkly decorations on our Facebook page. Partying THE YEAR AWAY On December 18, Team Greenwin gathered for our annual holiday party. Kris Korner: Well, it's that time of year again. Time for - you guessed it - new year's resolutions. I was curious about what the most popular resolutions were and if they are easy to stick to. I found that some of the biggest resolutions each year include: Spending more time with family and friends Quitting smoking Getting in shape Getting organized Learning something new (like a new language) Volunteering more often I think all of these are excellent resolutions, so it's not a surprise that they are some of the most popular. If you're looking to make a big life change, there is something about the start of a new year that is very encouraging. It feels like a clean slate. For some of the notoriously difficult resolutions, like quitting smoking or getting into shape, remember to take small steps. Instead of saying, "I will quit smoking this year," make a smaller and more easily achievable goal at first. Say, "I will cut down to one cigarette each day." That way, when you reach this goal, you will feel encouraged to take the next step of quitting altogether. Whatever you decide to do, it's always more fun to do it with friends. Ask for support in reaching your goal. Maybe even a fellow Greenwinite would like to join you! Kris
