Athletics Guidelines The Long Island University Post (LIU Post) athletics logos were designed for the express use of the departments of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports. Only varsity and recognized club athletics teams, communication pertaining directly to athletics teams, and approved merchandise may use the athletics logos. The athletics logo must be used in its entirety and as stated on the following pages. The logos may not be used by intramural sports teams or divisions of the University not directly related to intercollegiate athletics. The athletics logos must never replace the University logo as the official University signature on non-athletics visual materials, including publications, stationery, advertising materials, merchandise, or electronic media. The logos may be reproduced only from an original digital file (.ai, Adobe Illustrator,.eps, or JPEG formats). The logos and/or its elements must not be photocopied, scanned, recreated, reproportioned, or altered in any way. Reproduction of the athletics logos must adhere to color, size, and spacing specifications. The athletics logos used on merchandise for resale may be color matched to the garment per the discretion of the merchandise buyer. Any other use of the logos must be approved by the department of intercollegiate athletics by Lloyd Ribner through John Jez. Primary Logo Mark Official Primary Logo Mark Correct Logo Usage: Respect a 10% margin of the total logo size for all logo mark applications. Apparel / Merchandise Usage: The primary logo mark can be used on all athletics apparel and merchandise. It can be used alone. Uses include: left chest of polo, across chest on sweatshirt or t-shirt, side of short, pant leg. Should not be used on the front nameplate of a jersey. 3
Additional Marks Official Primary Word Mark Official Secondary Word Mark Apparel / Merchandise Usage: The primary logo mark can be used on all athletics apparel and merchandise. It can be used alone, but the two word marks cannot be stacked. Uses include: left chest of polo, across chest on sweatshirt or t-shirt, side of short, pant leg. Should not be used on the front nameplate of a jersey. 4
Additional Marks Official Primary Letter Mark Official LIU Fonts Set Apparel / Merchandise Usage: The primary letter mark P can be used solely on helmets and hats and with or without the green oval. The gold and green P's are no longer in use. Long Island University claims the right and ownership to the names, symbols, graphics, logos, trademarks and service marks associated with the University. Most of our marks are federally registered and all are monitored to ensure proper use and protection. The marks listed 5
Sport Specific Marks: Men's Apparel / Merchandise Usage: The primary logo mark can be used on all athletics apparel and merchandise. It can be used alone. Incorrect Usage of Athletics Logos *IMPORTANT: Do Not stretch or compress the logos in any way, always scale proportionately. Do Not crop, angle or skew the logos, always use logos in their entirety. Do Not change color of the logos or add screens, always use approved colors. Do Not replace banner text. Do Not combine with other artwork, create new logos, or place over visually distracting backgrounds. 9
Athletics Uniform / Apparel Standards *IMPORTANT: All athletics uniforms and apparel must include the official LIU & Gold. Black may be used, but only when other alternatives are not offered. LIU Post must be featured either within the official athletics marks or in plain text. The official primary letter mark may only be used if LIU Post is also on the uniform or apparel piece. 10

Additional Approved Logos Support Staff: Such as administrators, game day operations, media relations, etc. should all be using the primary logos. They should not be using department specific logo marks. 13
