The two losses on the road keep the Tigerettes winless in true road games this season, although they did win on the road - in a neutral site game against West Georgia [11/15/16]. Junior guard Rachel Brownlee and freshman guard Aryana Jackson continue to score in double figures, both with consecutive streaks on the line heading into the game tonight. Brownlee has scored in double figures in 17 of 18 games, including 15 consecutive games. Meanwhile, Jackson has scored in double figures in six of the seven games she has played in since joining the Tigerettes, including scoring in double figures six consecutive times. Senior forward Halle Bentley has been grabbing rebounds at a record pace since the turn of the New Year. The senior has recorded three games in double figure rebounds, which include a pair of 12 rebounds games before setting a new career-high with 13 against Albany State [1/30/16]. There is one tie between Miles College and Tuskegee on the roster as junior guard Sheikerrea Nelson is on the Tuskegee roster for the second year after playing her freshman year at Miles. The two teams split their meetings last season, with each winning on the others home floor. Tuskegee (3-14, 2-8 SIAC) was led by Aryana Jackson with 16 points, her sixth consecutive game in double figures, while adding four steals in the loss. Rachel Brownlee added 12 points, hitting on all eight of her free throws, while scoring in double figures for the 17th time this season (15 consecutive). Halle Bentley grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds for the Tigerettes, who finished the day shooting just 17.5 (11-of-63) percent from the floor and 16.7 (4-of-24) percent from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Keidra Green led all scored with 18 points for Albany State (10-10, 10-2 SIAC), while Zuri Frost added 14 for the Lady Golden Rams. Ieshia Young added 10 points, while Artisha Horton grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds. The Tigerettes led Albany State after the first quarter, thanks in part to Jackson and Brownlee combining for all 11 of the team s points. Jackson scored the team s first six points, helping Tuskegee race out to a 6-2 lead just four minutes into the game. Tuskegee held the lead until Albany State was able to tie it at 8-all on a Sierra Foster putback. The Tigerettes regained the lead on a free throw by Jackson, and held that until the end of the opening 10 minutes. UP NEXT Tuskegee hits the road after having four days off following tonight s game, as they will face Stillman College. It is one of two remaining road games on the schedule for Tuskegee, who will not leave the state of Alabama the rest of this season. DOUBLE THREAT Over the last six games, the Tigerettes have developed a double threat at the guard position in junior Rachel Brownlee and freshman Aryana Jackson. During those six games, the duo has both scored in double figures alternating leading scorer honors. HONORS FOR BROWNLEE Junior guard Rachel Brownlee won a pair of awards last week for her performance in a three-game week. The junior was first named the SIAC Player of the Week [Monday] and followed that up with the BRIC BOXTOROW National Playder of the Week [Wednesday]. CLOSING IN 1,000 Junior guard Rachel Brownlee is closing on a milestone during her junior season. Through two-plus season, the junior guard has scored 791 points - which leaves her just 209 points shy of reaching the milestone. With seven games remaining in the regular season, and at her current pace of 17.5 points per game, the junior would be 914 total points heading into the conference tournament. However, at her current scoring pace over nine games of 20.8 points per game, she would be at 937 points for her career heading into the conference tournament. The junior will reach the milestone, it is a matter of doing it this year, or in her junior year.
