February 1-10, Invitation
WELCOME Dear World Championships athletes and teams, Welcome to Utah! On behalf of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, our resort partners, Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain and Solitude Mountain Resort, as well as the Park City Bureau / Chamber and the Utah Sports Commission, we want to congratulate and welcome you to the FIS World Championships in Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski. Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski are deeply rooted in the mountains of Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. Our community and lifestyle have been built around winter sports and we are proud to bring this range of elite events to Utah for the third time. Five years ago, when we began planning for the events, we received overwhelming support from the entire Utah Community. As the 2002 Winter Olympic Games successfully inspired a new generation of athletes, young and old, so will the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships. We are honored to provide all our event attendees, especially the athletes and fans, with the highest possible level of competition venues and we hope you will be inspired by the passion and energy you will bring to the aspiring young athletes watching you ride or ski. Over the days that you are here we hope that you enjoy all that Town of Park City and the world class resorts of Utah have to offer. Please find in the following pages information about the events that will take place, registration and overall logistics for the FIS World Championships. We look forward to an unforgettable event! Sincerely, Calum Clark Tiger Shaw FIS World Championships Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski President and CEO Organizing Committee Chairman U.S. Ski and Snowboard 2
