Cuts Novice Lilt (4) Beginner Lilt (4) Intermediate Laddie (4) Jig (3 & 1) Afternoon events will not commence before 12:30 p.m. Premier Johnny (4) Laddie (4) Village Maid (4) Blue Bonnets (4) Hornpipe (4) Please note: One number will be issued for both days of the competition, and will be available at the venue on the day of competition. Saturday and Sunday are two separate events, therefore it is possible for dancers to earn a stamp both days, and category changes between Saturday and Sunday may apply. Championship Rules and Regulations 1. The FVHDA Open Championship is sanctioned and conducted under the rules and regulations of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing. 2. The order to dance will be pre-drawn using a specially designed computer program. 3. Age is determined as of April 27th, 2019. 4. Dancers must perform the 2019 Championship Set Steps. 5. Awards: Premier 15 & under will receive medals. Prize Money will be awarded to Premier Dancers 16 years & over. Note: Competition rules 7-13 listed below also apply to the Championship. Competition Rules and Regulations 1. The competition will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing 2. Dancers will compete in inverse order of registration for Pre-Championship, Pre-Premier and Premier Open Competitions, including special dances. First to enter is last to dance. 3. Age is determined as of the day of each event. 4. Classes will be determined on receipt of entries for Pre-Championship, Pre-Premier and Premier Open Competitions, including special dances. 5. The Competition Committee reserves the right to combine, split or delete/cancel classes according to the entries received. 6. Awards: Saturday: Medals and Aggregate awards to all Pre-Premier and Pre-Championship dancers. Primary dancers will be awarded medals and participation awards. **Special dances do not count towards the aggregate award. The winner of Special Flings will receive an award. Sunday: Medals and Aggregate awards to Pre-Premier dancers. Primary dancers will be awarded medals and participation awards. Premier 15 & under will receive medals and Cash Aggregates. Prize Money will be awarded to Premier dancers 16 years & over for places and Aggregates. 7. On Saturday Premier Dancers may enter the Championship, or the Pre-Championship, or both. 8. Confirmation will be sent by email. 9. All competitors must present their current 2019 SOBHD registration cards to pick up their numbers and to receive awards. All competitors must remain in costume for all award presentations. 10.All status changes must be reported no later than 6 days prior to the competition. Dancers filling in for the Reel must dance the entire dance. 13. The judge s decision is final. Protests must be made in writing, signed and submitted to the competition secretary before the end of the Competition or Championship day. Protests must be accompanied by a fee of $35.00, refundable if sustained. 14. Please make all cheques and money orders payable to Fraser Valley Highland Dancing Association. Postdated cheques will NOT be accepted. No refunds will be considered. US cheques are accepted at par. 15. Dancers and parents must respect to ScotDance Canada risk management guidelines, SOBHD code of Ethics and the FVHDA Codes of conduct all times. Dancers must be dressed appropriately at all times. 16. Any start or end timings given are estimations only and may vary on the day.
