Casey smiles. Good. It's going to take a lot of hard work if you ever want to put on skates again. (beat) Let's get to work. Ok, boss. Montage of Casey doing different exercises with Charlie and Fred helping him. Ok, that's enough for today. Charlie tosses a bottle of water to Casey who catches it. That's it? I'll see you again in two days. I... I want to apologize for the way I acted when I first came in... I was - Don't worry about it. Everyone deals with their injuries in different ways. Can I apologize by taking you out to dinner? Like I said don't worry about it. Can I just take you out then? Like a date? Yes, I would like to take you out on a date.

Casey Carter and a few more adults are teaching them. Casey is showing Sam how to shoot the puck. Standing outside the ice is a few high school hockey players all ready to take the ice. One of the High School players, JUSTIN SCOTT, stands by the glass heckling the kids as they practice. Casey bangs on the glass in front of Justin. (to Justin) Leave the kids alone. Justin gives him the finger. A horn goes off signaling the end of practice. The kids come off the ice and the high school team takes the ice. Casey and Sam are sitting in the bleachers. Casey helps Sam take off his equipment and puts them in a duffel bag. They hang out and watch the high school player get ready for their practice. Casey watches Justin Scott as he takes shots on the goalie. Casey shakes his head. As Justin shoots, Casey calls the position of the shot before he shoots. Glove. Justin shoots to the glove side.

Top Left corner. Justin shoots to the top left corner. Five hole. Justin shoots to the five hole. How do yo know where it's going? He's tipping his shot. (beat) Stay here. Casey walks down to the ice. He calls over to Justin. Hey Kid. (point to Justin) You. Come over here. JUSTIN SCOTT What do you want? Old man. You're tipping your shots. You will never score like that. JUSTIN SCOTT I can score whenever I want to. Any half decent goalie will shut you down. You might score now, in high school. It will never continue in college. Hell I can shut you down and I never played goalie in my life. JUSTIN SCOTT I'd like to see you try. OK, Lets do it. If I shut you down... You never bother the kids again. JUSTIN SCOTT Whatever. Old man.

Casey skates around the ice. He puts the goalie gear on and gets into place. Justin takes a breakaway shot on Casey. Casey easily stops him. Justin takes another shot and again Casey stops him. The high school coach,, takes the ice. He watches as Justin takes shots at Casey. Casey stops every shot that Justin takes on him. OK, that's enough. What's going on? Casey takes the goalie gear off. He takes the goalie mask off. Casey Carter? Is that you? Casey skates over to Jake. Jake Baker. You're coaching. I'm coaching our old high school team. That's great. What are you doing here? I'm here with my son, he had his first practice today. Are you playing hockey again? No, just helping my son. I play on a rec hockey team with a bunch of guys from our high school team. You should join the team. I can't play anymore. The accident, left me unable to skate (MORE)

(CONT'D) at a level good enough to play. What about goalie? I never played goalie before. I was just watching you in net stop shot after shot against the states number one high school prospect. He's the number one prospect? Justin Scott, leads the state in scoring. He's coming close to your goal scoring record. He's tipping his shots. I'll work on that with him. (beat) Join the team... The guys would love to have you. I don't know. We have a game tomorrow night. Come and watch the game. Take your son, it will be fun. Can we go dad? Ok. We will be there... but just to watch. Jake shakes Casey's hand. Great. See you tomorrow. INT. 'S HOUSE - KITCHEN Casey, Charlie and Sam are sitting at the kitchen table

eating dinner. How was hockey? Sammy did great. So did Dad. He stopped every shot that came at him. That's cute. Beating seven year olds. He beat the older kid. What's he talking about. This high school kid was heckling the kids. I just pointed out what he was doing wrong and he challenged me. Dad was even invited to play on a team. Really? It was nothing; just a childhood friend and teammate who plays on a recreational team. A bunch of our high school players are on the team... I told him I wasn't interested. We are going to their game tomorrow night. Charlie gets up and starts clearing the table. If you want to play you can. Charlie kisses Casey.

INT. HOCKEY ARENA Physically... My back... I can't skate well enough to play at a level I'm comfortable with. If you're the goalie you don't need to skate all over the rink. Smart kid... We should all go to the game tomorrow. Casey, Charlie and Sam are looking for seats. The small arena is full of fans. A woman, EMMA BAKER, in a black and silver hockey jersey with the team name Ninjas across it runs up to Casey and hugs him. EMMA BAKER Casey Carter! You came- Emma Jones? EMMA BAKER It's Emma Baker now. You and Jake got married. EMMA BAKER Who is this beautiful woman? This is my wife and son. I'm Charlie and this is Sam. EMMA BAKER Come with me... I saved you some seats. (beat) Casey Carter. I can't believe your back home.

We moved back last year. (to Charlie) We all grew up together. EMMA BAKER Why didn't you tell anyone? I don't know... It's been so long since I talked to anyone- EMMA BAKER We're glad you're back home now. They sit down in the bleachers right behind the Ninja's bench. Emma gets up and goes to the Ninjas bench. She kisses Jake. EMMA BAKER (Emma nods in Casey's direction) He's here. Jake stands and turns towards Casey. A few of the Ninja players turn to look. Fred Mackie is one of the players. Griff another high school teammate is also on the Ninjas. Jake punches him. GRIFF (laughing) The Great Casey Carter graces us with his presence. GRIFF I'm joking... Casey get your ass over here. We have something for you. Charlie nudges Casey. Casey gets up and goes to the bench. Fred waves at Charlie. Charlie waves back. Jake hands him a jersey. Casey looks at it. It has his name on the back with the number 1. There is a spot on the bench with your name on it.

FRED MACKIE Put it on. Isn't there a roster. I added you yesterday. Casey puts on the Jersey. The game starts. GRIFF Take a seat. I'm here with my family. FRED MACKIE (to Charlie) Charlie, Casey's gonna sit with us. OK, Mr. Mackie. (to Casey) Have fun! Casey cheers on his old friends from the bench. He turns and looks to Charlie. She is hanging out with Emma and Sam. They are cheering, dancing and singing along with background music. Charlie notices Casey looking at her. She smiles and winks at him. The game continues. We see a highlight reel of plays from the first two periods. INT. LOCKER ROOM Only one more period to go... We only need to hold them off for one more period and we got the win. In the background we can see the goalie throwing up into a garbage can. GOALIE I can't continue. I think I ate something bad. Griff, do you want to play goalie.

GRIFF I would like to see what Casey can do in net. I heard he schooled Justin Scott- I'm just here to watch... Not play. GRIFF Come on. I'm having too much fun knocking around these Puck Heads. It would be like old times. We haven't played with you since high school. There's only one period left. (starts chanting) Casey... Casey... /FRED MACKIE /GRIFF (chanting) Casey... Casey... Casey... I don't have my skates or equipment. Charlie, Sam, and Emma enter the locker room. Charlie is carrying a duffel bag. Now you do. You're in on this? Fred called me this afternoon. Charlie kisses Casey. INT. HOCKEY ARENA Kick their asses. I love you. Charlie, Sam, Emma and the Ninjas cheer on Casey as he takes the ice.

FLASHBACK: Casey with Charlie and Fred carefully get on the ice. Fred skates behind Casey, making sure he stays up. Charlie holds Casey's hands in front of him as he ice skates for the first time since his accident. A tear runs down Charlie's face as she watches Casey play hockey. EMMA BAKER (to Charlie) Have you ever seen Casey play before? No... Just playing around with Sam. EMMA BAKER What about his old game tapes? I didn't know there were tapes. EMMA BAKER Maybe his parents have them. He used to watch them constantly. He really was amazing. (beat) We were all really proud of him, when he got called up to the Rangers. A bunch of us got tickets to the game. We see a highlight reel of plays from Casey playing with the Ninjas. The Ninja's celebrate winning the game. EXT. HOCKEY ARENA Casey, Charlie, Sam, The Ninjas and their families are walking to the parking lot. After the game, we usually go to Flips Pizzeria. Just like high school. It's a tradition. Casey looks to Charlie.

INT. CASEY'S CAR We will be there. Casey is driving with Charlie in the passenger's seat and Sam in the back. INT. PIZZERIA You were so great. I had so much fun hanging with Emma. (beat) How are you feeling? Any pain in your back? I feel great. No pain at all. Are you going to join the team? I think I might. I didn't realize how much I missed playing, until I got on the ice tonight. The Ninja's are hanging out eating pizza, drinking beer and celebrating the win. Casey, Charlie, and Sam are sitting on one side of a booth with Emma and Jake on the other side. They are telling old stories from when they were kids. Fred slides a chair over and joins them. Fred, it's so great to see you again. Fred and Charlie hug. EMMA BAKER How do you two know each other? FRED MACKIE I was Charlie's assistant at the Sports Rehabilitation Center in the city. I was there when Casey and Charlie met.

EMMA BAKER You were? There has to be a story there. FRED MACKIE Oh... There is. I had been working for this girl for a few months. I had never heard her yell, not even raise her voice or anything like that. I walk in the room and she is yelling at Casey to get his ass up. I had to wait a minute to stop laughing before I walked over to them. EMMA BAKER (laughing) Why were you yelling at him? Charlie looks at Casey. (smiling) Well.. He didn't want me to be his physical therapist. I was a girl and too small and not athletic enough for him. I was looking for someone named Charlie. Charlie is usually a guy's name. I thought- Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway he said he wanted someone to kick his ass into shape... So that's what I did. Griff walks over to the table. GRIFF So, what is the cool kids talking about? Are you a Ninja or what? I'm a Ninja... If you'll have me. Griff raises his beer in the air. He turns to everyone in the pizzeria.

GRIFF Casey Carter wants to be a Ninja. Should we let him? A roar of cheers erupt from the crowd in the pizzeria. INT. HOCKEY RINK A montage of Casey Carter and the Ninjas hockey highlights. The Ninjas winning the league championships, the state championships, the regional championships and the national championships. The Ninjas celebrate on the ice. Casey Carter picks up the championship cup. Charlie, Sam, Emma and Casey's parents, Anne and Tom, are cheering in the stands. EXT. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN Casey Carter, Sam Carter, Jake Baker, Emma Baker, Fred Mackie, Griff and a few more New York Ninja players and their families are walking up to Madison Square Garden. They are hanging out and having fun. The NY Ninja Players are wearing their team jersey's. Sam Carter is wearing the jersey of his favorite Ranger player, #33, Luc Roman. They enter the Arena. Casey Carter is holding Sam Carter's hand. (to Sam) I have a special surprise for you. (to Jake and the team) I'll meet you guys at the seats. I have something to show Sam. Jake Baker fists bumps Sam. (to Sam and Casey) Have fun, buddy. INT. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - HALLWAY Where are we going? Casey and Sam stop outside a door that says, Clubhouse. Casey takes out his phone and sends a text. We are outside the door.

The door opens and LUC ROMAN is standing there. Sam stands there looking up at Luc with his mouth wide open unable to speak. Luc Roman shakes Casey's hand, then hugs him. Luc looks at Sam. LUC ROMAN It's good to see you again. LUC ROMAN (to Sam) Nice Jersey. You must be Sam. Luc Roman knows my name. Luc leads Casey and Sam into the clubhouse. Come on. LUC ROMAN INT. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - CLUBHOUSE The NY Rangers players are getting ready for the big game. Luc, Thanks for doing this. You're his favorite player. Luc picks up a puck and signs it. He hands it too Sam. Sam stares at the puck. LUC ROMAN I was so happy to hear from you. We should hang out sometime. Definitely... Sammy didn't believe me when I told him we were friends. LUC ROMAN (to Sam) We were roommates back when we played for the Hartford Wolf Pack. Sam tugs on his father's jersey. (low voice) Dad can you take a picture of us.

LUC ROMAN Strike a pose. Luc strikes a pose next to Sam, who does the same. Casey takes a picture of them. LUC ROMAN Now all three of us. Casey takes a selfie of the three of them. LUC ROMAN (to Casey) What's with the jersey? I'm playing hockey again... It's just a rec league. They won the championship. We are here with the team celebrating our national championship win. LUC ROMAN Are you the leading goal scorer? (to Sam) Your father is the greatest player I ever played with. I'm playing goalie now. He shutout the highest scoring team to win the game. LUC ROMAN Man, you're on the ice again...that's great to hear. When you got in that accident... (beat) I never told you but, I visited you in the hospital.
