All Range Rules Apply! Ear and Eye protection is required. RSVP: to Jane Milhans 253-279-4245 September: Ladies Day Out Event at Cabela's Date: Saturday September 24, 2016 and Sunday September 25, 2016 Time: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM Location: Cabela s 1600 Gateway Blvd. NE, Lacey, WA 98516 Cabela's is having a two day weekend event for women. This special event will feature a variety of classes and other specials for women. Possibly a coupon for shopping!! Jane Milhans will be teaching on both Saturday and Sunday a one hour class on Basics for Women Shooters. There will be other classes like handgun selections, home defense, etc. Classes typically start around 9 AM and end around 5 PM. Cabela s will hand out a schedule or post the information on their web page. RSVP is required for email updates. Send RSVP to Jane Milhans October: Pistol Shooting Skill Review Date: Saturday October 8, 2016 Time: 1:00 PM 3:00 PM Location: Pistol Range We will meet at the pistol range and first do a review of skills to practice. Each of you will partner with another person to observe and offer feedback. We will practice things such as sight alignment/sight picture, trigger control, breath control, hold control, and follow through, etc. What to do in the event of a pistol mal-function. Bring your NRA Basic Pistol book if you have been through the class. Safety Reminder: Ear and Eye protection is required at the range. All Range rules apply. Guest Policy: If you bring a guest, there is a $10 range fee that is applicable on the weekends. Guests must stay with the member at all times while on the range. RSVP is required Space is limited. Basic Pistol Maintenance Date: Sunday October 23, 2016 Time: 1:00 PM 3:00 PM Location: TRRC Classroom Maintaining your firearm is essential for proper functioning and safety. Just like you maintain your car, your firearm needs regular maintenance. You need to clean your pistol every time you use it. What to bring? Here are some suggestions: (If you do not have everything, don t worry, come with what you have.) You may bring your rifle to this event although the focus will be pistols. 1. Pistol unloaded. No ammunition is allowed in the classroom. You will check it in at the door. 2. A cleaning kit for the caliber of the pistol you are bringing. 3. Cleaners: My favorite is CLP, it is both a cleaner and lubricant. 4. Lubricant 5. Cleaning patches for the caliber of your pistol. 6. Bore Snake for the caliber of your pistol. 7. A towel or mat to lay your pistol on. 8. Disposable gloves 9. NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting (If you took the NRA Basic Pistol Course.) RSVP is required and class size is limited. WAC Gun Show Field Trip Date: Saturday October 29, 2016 Time: 9:00 AM 11:00 AM Location: Puyallup Fair and Events Center Washington Arms Collectors (WAC) is a non-profit corporation that organizes the largest gun show in Washington State. They have been around since 1952 and are a NRA affiliated organization. They offer memberships or you can pay at the door to enter the show. Membership details and benefits can be found at www.washingtonarmscollectors.org. If this is your first visit, there will be a lot for you to see! There are various vender booths with everything from firearms* to conceal carry purses and accessories. Food concession booths are also open.

*Note: The WAC does not allow sales of firearms to non-members. Membership requires a CPL or a background check. They have strict safety rules, including all firearms must be unloaded and locked open before entering. If you conceal carry this can be done at the front gate. The cost to enter for non-members is $10.00 Parking is free RSVP is required. Send RSVP to Jane Milhans Insurance and Firearms Date: Sunday October 30, 2016 Time: 5:30 PM 7:30 PM Location: TRRC Classroom We are excited to have guest speaker; Marc Perez to come and speak about the various types of insurance that are important for firearm owners. Marc has worked in the industry for years and presently has his own agency. It is important for you to know that you are covered in all situations. He will be covering topics such as: How much insurance can you obtain for protecting your firearm collection and do you need a separate rider? Is there a liability coverage that will protect you if there is an accident with your firearm? Is there liability coverage that will protect you in the event your firearm is stolen and used in a crime? Is there liability insurance that will cover you when you are teaching someone how to use a firearm and you are not a business? Is there liability insurance that will cover you if you use a firearm in self-defense and the family member sues you? And much more.. Space is very limited RSVP early. Strict no-show policy is in place when we have a guest speaker. RSVP is required. Send RSVP to Jane Milhans November: Rifle Range, Dinner and a Movie Ladies Night Out Date: Sunday November 13, 2016 Time: 3:00 PM 5:30 PM Location: Main Range This will be a fun evening starting at the Main Rifle Range to practice rifle skills. Afterwards we will go out to dinner and a movie. If you do not own a rifle, you can still use your pistol at the main range. At the main range you can do either a bench rest position or a standing position.

He will be covering the following topics: What crimes are being committed in the county? What if I have to use my firearm to defend myself? In the home? In public? What is happening with I-594 rules? How do I respond if there is an active shooter? And much more...

This is your opportunity. We will have a variety of pistols for you to handle and shoot at the range! Send RSVP to Jane Milhans Introduction to Basic Pistol and Skills Review Date: Sunday December 11, 2016 Time: Noon 3:00 PM Location: Classroom This class will provide a basic introduction for someone who is new to shooting and will prepare you for the more extended two-day NRA Basic Pistol Course. This is not intended to replace the two-day NRA Basic Pistol Course. Many of you have purchased a new firearm and have requested some basic instructions. This course will be a refresher for those who have completed the two day NRA Basic Pistol course. All abilities are welcome to attend. We will meet in the classroom for a few hours and then we will go to the pistol range and practice with your own pistol. If you do not have a pistol and would like to shoot, please contact me directly for information. Safety Reminder: No firearms or ammunition allowed in the classroom.
