2016 MSYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP) Identification Weekend Dates Announced Registration for the MSYSA Advanced Academy ODP Identification Weekend (ID) is now open through July 24, 2016 (registration through July 17, 2016 is $100). The Olympic Development Program is a national program to identify, develop and prepare youth players to represent their State, Region, and Country in soccer competitions. Players born in the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2004 birth year are eligible for the ODP Advanced Academy program. Players wishing to participate in the program should register for the ID Weekend and must attend all sessions. The only players excused from the ID Weekend are 2016 Regional Pool Players, however, these players must still register on time. In order to attend any US Youth Soccer/Region II activities players must be registered with MSYSA/ODP. Please note; the 2005 age group will not participate in the traditional Olympic Development Program this year. This is due to USYSA Region 2 ID Camps, Team Selections and Events not starting until 2016 for this age group. The 2005 age group will participate in the MSYSA Regional 101 Academy Program. For more information and to register please visit www.michiganyouthsoccer.org under ODP. The ODP ID Weekend will take place from July 29- July31, 2016 at Canton Independence Park in Canton, Michigan (located at 1898 Denton Road, Canton, Michigan 48188). Please note, the 00, 01 & 02 age groups must attend all three scheduled sessions and the 03 & 04 age groups must attend all four of their scheduled sessions. Please note that all players must attend all dates and times. Check in will commence 30 minutes prior to your scheduled session. Each player, upon checking in, will receive one (1) Under Armour t- shirt to be utilized for the duration of the weekend. Registration Is Now Open for the 2016 MSYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP) 101 Beginner Academy, Goalkeeper Academy & Meulensteen US Technical Championship Plymouth, Michigan (June 20, 2016) - Registration for the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program (ODP) 2016 2017 Player Programming is now open. ODP 101 Beginner Academy This regional based program is for both male and female players within the birth year range of 2005 to 2008. This program is designed to provide additional training opportunities to competitive/travel players seeking new challenges and to help identify the level of youth soccer players within Michigan. Locations include: Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak, Grand Blanc, Canton, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. NOTE: The top 2005 age group players identified in the 101 program will be invited directly into the Advanced Academy winter training pool for the 2016 / 2017 season. It is designed to provide a professional training environment for youth goalkeepers from around Michigan. Technical Championship competitions have been held in Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa, and now for the second year in the USA and Canada. The Michigan event, which will be held at the Legacy Center in Brighton, is for players in the 2002 to 2009 birth years.
