Editor: Steve Wampole Moose News Sellersville Moose Family Center #1539 Women of the Moose Chapter #471 Serving our Members and Community 97 years and counting March/April Issue #2 Proof Reader Jim Gallagher Please Call, Email or Write I hope you all enjoyed the new format of your newsletter last month. We know there were a few mistakes last time and hopefully with each newsletter there will be an Improvement. With all that being said we have a very important question to ask you. With the ever growing cost of the newsletter we want to know if you would like to continue to receive your printed copy in the mail. You can go online at our web site www. sellersvillemoose.com and see it prior to receiving it in the mail. Also, we are going to do an email blast and send copies that way, so please call and let us know what you would like us to do at 215-257-4380 or email us at newsletter@sellersvillemoose.com. If we do not hear from you we are going to assume that you do not want a printed copy of the news letter and you will be taken off the list. This will be a great help and a way for us to save a few dollars, so please go online or ask us to email the newsletter to you.

The Governor, House Committee and Administrator Members and Co Workers, We would like to talk to you about two of the latest changes we have made. First, the non-smoking Thursdays are now smoking. We changed our policy back due to the economy. The non smokers just stopped coming out on Thursdays. Dinners and social quarters numbers dropped dramatically compared to when it was smoking (the house committee tracked these numbers for one year), and with a split vote we changed back. Over the past three months the numbers have been climbing. If you where wondering, there are four smokers on the house committee and five non-smokers. Second, there has been a lot of grumbling going on at the Moose lately about having to show your membership ID card before you get served. Not only is this a Moose International Law this is an LCB law that we have just let slide by way too long. The fine for this is way too high for doing something so simple. This doesn't mean you can t bring in guests, All you have to do is to have them sign the guest book and get a guest badge from the bartender or hostess. Just remember a guest CANNOT purchase anything from the Moose you can always square up with our guest before or after you leave. As one of our older members put it, be proud to be a Moose member and show your card, proudly. Now lets clear something up; Phil, as our Administrator, DOES NOT make these or ANY changes to the Moose unless it goes before the House Committee and is voted on. Most of the things we do are brought on by the membership, by coming to a house committee meeting and talking to us. All you have to do is call or email Phil at the moose to set up a time, call the Governor s cell at 267-446-9077, or you can drop off suggestions at the Moose. There is a box on the table to your right when you are entering the dining room. Or, shoot us an email at newsletter@sellersvillemoose.com or mine (the Governor) at www.swampole2@comcast.net Thank you, The House Committee

Misc news April 1st we will have new beer prices.95 for a small, $1.50 for a large The Moose has had some incidents of foul language in the social quarters, the past few weeks. If you hear foul language and are a fended by it; please, say something to the bartender, Or find a officer to handle. We are a family center with kids, so lets all try to be a little bit more careful out their. We just had our Park Ave. mid year dinner, that was well attended. Chef Jack did a fine job as always with the food, and I can t remember the last time so many members stayed to dance the night away. Keep and eye out for up coming info on the clambake in August. Starting in March we will be selling T-shirts the cost is $ 20.00, these are your Happy Hour T-shirt. The Rules are simple. Buy a shirt wear the shirt to the Lodge and for one Hour you get 50% off your drinks. And YES there is a catch. You get the 50% off your drinks, you can buy for other but at the regular price and you may not buy any drink chips. Happy Hour T-Shirt sales are for a repair fund for the Lodge. As we go to press, the Elvis Night on 2-13-10 is in the final stages. Look for an update to the web site on how much fun this great event was. We are finalizing the Moose Legion 2 day Mystery Bus Tour. Dates of the event are 4-24 and 4-25, 2010. This will be a bus trip to Lodges in our regional area, to visit and party with our fellow regional members. Price for the trip is $110.00 total for a single and $155.00 total for a Moose Legion Member and his spouse. There are only 40 seats available for the trip, and they will go fast. This trip includes the bus transportation, coolers of beer and soft drinks in the bus, one night accommodation in a very nice hotel, and breakfast in the morning at the hotel s restaurant. The room will be equipped with all the amenities (coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, etc.). After breakfast, we will start out journey back to the Sellersville Lodge, visiting more regional Lodges on the return. Pick up time will be 7:00 AM on 4-24-10, and returning 4-25-10 by 4:00 PM at the Sellersville Moose Family Center. The retrofit to the Lodge has now begun. A new vanity, double sinks, plumbing and a large corkboard has been purchased and delivered to the Sellersville Lodge. This is the first of many projects to get ready for our Moose Legion All State Convention in July of 2010. Our ½ price drink special will continue until the end of March 2010 on Thursday Evenings, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for all Moose Legion Members. Come on out on Thursday evenings, enjoy Chef Jack s great buffet, and have a ½ price drink special. We would like to go back to the Iron Pigs Baseball Game this spring/summer of 2010. The tickets are $40.00 per person only 40 tickets. Just like last year, transportation from the Lodge will be provided to the game and back. Everyone really had a great time last year, and this time it should only be better. As always, we would like to see more members attend our LAC meetings on the Second Monday of each month. Meeting time starts at 8:00 PM. We see it growing each month. If you are not a member of the Moose Legion, see anyone of us to review the criteria to join (it s easy!), and enjoy the elevated status of being a Moose Legionnaire of our Sellersville Lodge # 1539, in William Penn # 3 Chris Perry Moose Legion Chairman Sellersville Lodge # 1539 Moose Legion News
