Like many, we spent most of our summer chasing hay and rotating cows to get the most from the grass we had. Despite the challenges and weaning earlier than ever, the calves came home heavy and continue to show their performance abilities. We find this especially encouraging because we re offering a younger set of bulls than normal most are April calves. The year certainly had tough times, but we kicked off 2018 on a high note as we made our first trip to Denver as exhibitors. It was definitely a trip to remember! Lots 1, 2, and 3 made the trip with us. Lots 2 and 3 were part of our class-winning pen. Then, our anchor bull, Exhult 49E, was reserve people s choice percentage bull and champion spring percentage calf on the hill! He was purchased by Yardley Cattle Company in Utah. Find his maternal brother in Lot 1 and his full brothers in lots 3, 4, and 5. We breed for production, but what a feeling for our cattle to be validated at a national show! Regardless of your herd focus, we know you can find a bull or heifer in our sale to fit your needs. Our sale will again be held in a limited auction format. You can bid online, in person, or on the phone at any time. However, to be included in the final phone bidding process, you must place an initial bid by 3 PM on Wednesday, February 14. Many folks question a creep feeder in a bull pen, but when your feed is as cool (48 Mcal) as Bull Challenger, you don t worry! We ve had zero issues or complaints on our bulls feet and know many are still working strong at seven years old.
