Herd Health: All cattle will be accompanied by proper health certificates for immediate shipment out of state. All bulls are scrotal measured and semen tested. The bulls have been vaccinated with 8-Way and for IBR, P13, BVD I & II, BRSV, Lepto 5, Pasturella, and given Ivomec Plus injectable. Herd health and semen testing done by Dr. Doug Corey, Associated Veterinary Clinic, Walla Walla, WA. Retained Interest: Kessler Angus is retaining one-third revenue sharing semen interest in all bulls selling. Buyer will receive full possession and full salvage value on bulls. Identification of Sale Cattle: Sale tags correspond with the sale book lot numbers. Ranch tags correspond with tattoos. Terms and Conditions: Cattle will sell under the suggested Terms and Conditions of the American Angus Association (http://www.angus.org/pub/suggested_sale_terms.pdf). All supplements to the sale book or announcements made from the block take precedence over what is written in this book. First Year Breeding Guarantee: All bulls selling for $2,000 or more will be covered 50% by Kessler Angus if they are injured during their first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90-day period following the first turnout of the bulls. Fifty percent of the value of the injured bull, minus one-half salvage value, will be given as credit in a future sale or toward a replacement bull if one is available. Salvage value, if any, will be split equally between Kessler Angus and the buyers. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a veterinarian. Please notify us as soon as possible should injury occur and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage. All claims must be made by September 1, 2019. Example 1: A $5,000 bull is injured and will not heal. A credit of $2,500 minus one-half of any salvage value will be given to the buyer. Example 2: A $2,000 bull is injured and will not heal. A credit of $1,000 minus one-half of any salvage value will be given to the buyer. Example 3: A $1,750 bull is injured and will not heal. No credit is given. Buyer retains all salvage value. Delivery: Free delivery within 400 miles or bring your trailer and pick up your bulls by February 24 and receive a $100 credit per bull. Bulls will be delivered starting March 15. The sire groups are very uniform this year and the bulls are strong all the way through, there s not an animal in the sale that we don t like. It s hard to believe that this year marks 57 years in business for me at Kessler Angus. My dreams started with one 4-H heifer in 1962 and they ve just kept growing from there. I always knew I wanted to raise and sell Angus bulls. When I sold my first bull at the Hermiston Bull Sale in 1964, the sale averaged $610 and I was excited my bull brought $410. The program has come a long way since then, but I m still just as excited every time someone chooses to purchase a bull from my program. I ve always worked hard to breed the kind of cattle that kept both me and commercial cattlemen in business. I hope you see the concentration I ve put on building an elite calving ease part of my program and select from those genetics to use on your heifers. The bulls marked as calving ease (CE) in the sale book are up to three generations proven as such. While some of the other bulls might meet typical calving ease EPD requirements in many operations, I have always been strict on requirements to be considered truly calving ease. These bulls were sorted and penned here at the ranch at weaning time and have remained in those assignments until sale day. The bulls are hand fed twice a day, receiving long hay and a minimal amount of grain. They are fed to be grown out and not fat, ready to go to work at turnout. These bulls have passed semen tests and are guaranteed through their first breeding season. All the bulls have been carcass ultrasounded to provide you with the actual data to compare with their EPDs. We offer free wintering until April 1 and free delivery within 400 miles. All our delivery routes are planned out based on the area you re from and we will work with you to get your bull to your ranch or as close to it as possible. You can also pick your bulls up on sale day or within the week and get $100 taken off the sale price. We are always available to discuss your breeding program or ours. The bulls are available to look at any time, so if you prefer to take your time and study the numbers and the bulls, feel free to come and spend some time out in the pens. The first set of Comrade 6516 daughters in our replacement pen are absolute beauties, easily being marked as Tierra s favorite sire group. A daughter of 0595, Rainbow 2562, produced Lot 37 - one of our favorite sons of this year. This cow family knows how to go to work and we are always pleased with the bulls they wean us and the daughters we retain in our herd. It s hard to look at anything else when you start admiring the mass and style of 8029. MATURE COWHERD DISPERSION SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2019 We fell in love with quite a few heifers in the 2017 & 2018 calf crops and kept more than we ever have, pushing us too far over the number of cows our place can handle. We talked about going through the cowherd and culling females we didn t like, but never came up with a list long enough to make a major difference in our cowherd numbers. This fall, the idea came up to hold a mature female dispersion and offer everyone over a certain age after a little debate, that s what we decided to do. We are going to sell every spring-calving female born 2014 or older. This offering should be around 110 spring-calving bred females, including the dams of Kesslers Legacy 5093, Kesslers Comrade 6516, and most of our Kesslers Frontman daughters. Many of the dams of the top bulls in this year s sale will sell and we re already feeling nostalgic about letting so many great producing cows go. If you have any questions about the females being offered or want to make sure you re on the sale book list for that sale, let us know! The cows are nearby calving now if you d like to see some when you come look at the bulls, and we plan to keep those cows home this summer so they re easy to see.
