A Letter From Our General Manager By the time you re reading this, most of you will have already heard that I ll be leaving the Club soon. I ve had a great opportunity presented to me to be the GM/COO of Bloomington Country Club in Bloomington, Illinois. This area is about 2 hours from where I grew up in Quincy, Illinois and where 2 of our adult children still live along with 1 of our 4 grandchildren. I ve established many enduring friendships in my almost 7 years of employment here which I ll cherish forever. It s been my pleasure to get to know many of you on a personal basis and while moving away is never easy, I hope to return some day to see all of the friends we re leaving. I ll like to thank all of my staff, both past and present that I ve had the opportunity to work with who ve been exceptional. All of you will be missed greatly! I d like to also thank all of the board and committee members who ve supported and believed in me during my time. I feel like I m leaving the club in better shape than I found it, and I hope you feel the same. See you around the club, Dave Kelley General Manager dave@themanhattancountryclub.com

A Letter From Our Membership Director MAY IS FINALLY HERE!! I can not begin to express how excited I am for warmer weather! This Texas girl does not do well with the winter weather. I am sure by now everyone has heard about all of the changes at the Club concerning the department heads. I want to ease all of the members minds by saying we are working our VERY BEST to make sure this is a smooth transition for everyone. For the moment, I have stepped in to help out with the events side of things until we find a new Food & Beverage Manager. I have a background in events, however there is always something to be learned. Maison and Ellie have really stepped up to help things continue to run, if you get a chance please tell them THANK YOU! I have mailed out a letter to all of you informing you of some of the marketing pieces you may receive. If you happen to get one, please pass it on to a friend who may be interested in joining the club. My goal is to gain at least 25 more members this year and I CAN NOT accomplish that goal without the help of all of you. Please do not hesitate to stop by my office or call if you have any questions about anything! I am here for you! Christina Hodges Membership Marketing Director & Office Manager christina@themanhattancountryclub.com

A Letter From Our Food and Beverage Department May is here and with it comes a flurry of activity here at Manhattan Country Club! Graduation weekend is right around the corner, but we still have a few tables available that Friday night if you d like to bring your graduate up for dinner. Contact Christina in the office if you d like to make a reservation! On Sunday, May 13 th we ll be celebrating Mother s Day in style! Our annual buffet starts at 11:00 am and has a variety of options to appeal to everyone in your party. Treat the mother in your life to a beautiful meal at your Club. Make your reservation before Thursday, May 10 th to ensure you get the seating you want! The pool also opens on Thursday, May 24 th! Join us for another successful season of swimming, cookouts, and summer fun. This year we will also be opening on Mondays from 12:00 pm to 3:45 pm, in addition to being open Tuesday thru Sunday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. We hope that this will provide a few extra hours this summer for you to enjoy your Club and its amenities. Also, don t forget our annual Memorial Day Poolside Cookout on Monday, May 28 th! There s no better way to kick off the summer at Manhattan Country Club than with our first big pool party of the year. By now I m sure that some of you have heard that I m no longer at the club. I started working here four and a half years ago and have enjoyed my time here immensely. I ve gotten to know so many of you and I am truly saddened to say goodbye. However, I m at a point in my life where I d like to make more time for my family. I have a wonderful six year old son who I d love to see and spend more time with and a new opportunity away from Manhattan Country Club has provided that for me. Dave, Christina, Maison, and Ellie will be taking over some of my tasks here at the club while they search for my replacement. We re hoping that the transition will be easy and not affect the members, but please let us know if something slips through the cracks. Dave is currently screening applicants to replace my role and hopefully they will find someone soon. I hope that whoever is hired for position has the same dedication, loyalty, and love of the business and the membership that I ve had. You have all made my time here at Manhattan Country Club more enjoyable. I appreciate everything that the staff and members of the Club have done for me. Have a great summer! Jessica Anderson, Food and Beverage Manager jessica@themanhattancountryclub.com John Kellogg, Executive Chef chef@themanhattancountryclub.com

A Letter From Our Grounds Superintendent Spring is here and everything is growing at a rapid rate, which is keeping us very busy in this early growing season. April gave us a couple nice rains that have finally made it feel more like spring after a long cold winter. We hope to get some more timely rainfalls that will be beneficial to the golf course in the months to fallow. We have been out spraying for Broadleaf weeds. Each year we are trying to improve more areas on the golf course. We also do this in the fall, which is a beneficial time also to apply the broadleaf application. We have over seeded some areas that were compromised over our cold dry winter. Our goal is to push these areas so the fill in as quickly as possible. The warm season grasses are slow to green up this year. With warmer weather ahead they will become more active. Diane has been doing a great job getting the greenhouse ready. Planting is just around the corner and all of the plants are looking great. HOPE TO SEE YOU ON THE COURSE!! Mark McKain Grounds & Greens Superintendent mark@themanhattancountryclub.com

A Letter From Our Head Golf Professional Ladies and Gentlemen, Spring has sprung, finally!!! With the turning of the weather, I hope to see most of you soon! The month of May has many opportunities to get your golf fix in with Demo Days May 8th and May 17th, Ladies Invitational the 15th, Couple's Spring Fling the 6th. I hope to see you at one of those events! Fun news for me to pass on to you, May 8th-11th, I will be in Carlsbad, CA at the Callaway learning center, becoming a Master Certified Club Fitter. I will come back with more knowledge and maybe a couple of new tinkering toys for when we fit people! As always in the month of May new arrivals are showing up in the Pro-Shop. So come stop by and check out the new apparel. Remember, when you shop at the Pro-Shop, your dollars stay here and help support YOUR Club. See you all soon!
