Dave Grosby and Gary Hill, Jr., will broadcast the game live on 710 ESPN Seattle, beginning with the pregame show shortly before tipoff. Seattle U brings a modest two-game road winning streak into Tuesday s game, but Stanford should prove to be more formidable than the previous two opponents the Redhawks faced on their home floors. This will be the third game the Redhawks play against a Pac-10 opponent this season, with Seattle U collecting a win against Oregon State and a loss to Washington earlier this season. THE CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD GAME: Seattle University hit 17-of- field goal attempts in the second half, including 8-of-10 shots from behind the three-point line, to pull away from Cal State Bakersfield for a 7-5 victory Saturday night at Rabobank Arena. Chad Rasmussen shot 8-of-10 from behind the three-point line as he led all players with a career-high points. Alex Jones nearly earned a double-double, finishing with 1 points and nine rebounds, and Sterling Carter contributed 11 points and five rebounds to the winning effort. After Garrett Lever scored the first basket of the game, Cal State Bakersfield went on a 1- scoring run over the next four minutes to open a 1-5 advantage. Donald Johnson hit a three-pointer with 11: left before halftime, but that would prove to be Cal State Bakersfield s last field goal until there were 0 seconds remaining in the first half. In that span, Seattle U outscored the Roadrunners, 19-, to open an 11-point lead before Alex Johnson ended the field goal drought with 0 seconds left to make the score 1- in the Redhawks favor at halftime. Ivan Matip scored early in the second half to cut the Redhawk lead to seven, but back-to-back three-pointers by Carter gave the Redhawks a 1-point advantage. After four straight points by the Roadrunners, two layups by Jones, three three-pointers from Rasmussen, and another long distance basket by Carter gave Seattle U a 5- lead eight minutes into the second half, and the Redhawks kept making shots to clinch their largest margin of victory of the season.

Stanford is a perfect 6-0 at home against non-conference opponents, including an 81-60 victory over Virginia Nov. 18. The Cardinal is scoring 66. points per game and giving up 6.7 points per contest. As a team, Stanford is shooting. percent from the field, including 5.8 percent from behind the three-point line, and 66.5 percent from the free throw line. Jeremy Green leads the team in scoring, averaging 16. points per game. Green is 0th in the country in three-point field goal percentage (.16) and 50th in three-pointers made per game (.6). Josh Owens is averaging 1.0 points per game as well as a team-high 6.7 rebounds per contest. He is shooting 58.6 percent from the field, 17th in Division I in field goal percentage. SEATTLE U VS. STANFORD: This will be the third meeting all-time between Seattle University and Stanford, with the Cardinal winning both previous meetings. On Dec. 19, 198, Stanford earned an 8-6 victory over then-naia school Seattle U. Stanford also earned a 105-5 victory over Seattle U Dec. 1, 1985. These two teams are scheduled to meet at KeyArena next season. THE KEY TO SUCCESS: Since returning to Seattle Center Jan. 1, 009, with a 9-9 victory over Loyola Marymount, Seattle University is 17-8 at KeyArena. The Redhawks finished the 009-10 season with a 10- home record and has compiled a 6-5 record at the Key so far in 010-11. THE LEADER OF THE REDHAWKS: Cameron Dollar is in his second year as the head coach of the Seattle University men s basketball team. After leading the team to a 17-1 record in 009-10, he was named Independent Coach of the Year. He had been an assistant coach at the University of Washington under Lorenzo Romar for seven seasons. In 008-09, the Huskies won their first outright Pac-10 regular season title since 195. Dollar also was instrumental in helping Washington reach the Sweet 16 in both 005 and 006. Dollar joined Romar at Saint Louis in 1999, helping the Bilikens win the Conference USA tournament championship in 000. After spending one season as an assistant at UC Irvine, Dollar became the nation s youngest head coach in 1998, taking over the program at Southern California College (now Vanguard University), where he went 11- in one season. As a player, Dollar helped UCLA win the 1995 NCAA Championship at the Kingdome in Seattle. CRACKING THE RECORD BOOKS: Freshman guard Sterling Carter has made 7 three-pointers this season, moving into seventh place on the Seattle University list for three-pointers made in a single season. He needs two long distance baskets to move into sixth place, past Adam Enfield s 001-0 total of 7 three-pointers. The school record for most three-pointers in a season is currently held by Aaron Waite, who made 89 threepointers in the 1989-90 campaign. Also, senior Garrett Lever has moved into fifth place on the Seattle U single-season steals list with his 67 steals, with Dave Anderson next on the list with 68 steals in 198-85. Ray Brooks holds the single-season record for steals with 8, accomplished in the 198-85 season. THE RELUCTANT WARRIOR: Aaron Broussard started the season with two double-doubles in the first three games, earning 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Maryland and Cal Poly contests. He helped Seattle U earn its first victory of the season with nine points, 1 rebounds, and four assists against Oregon State. He posted career-high scoring totals of 5 points against UC Irvine and 6 points against Navy, pulling down nine rebounds in each contest. Those performances helped put him on the All-Tournament Team at the UC Irvine subregional of the K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. On Nov. 9, he hit the go-ahead three-pointer on his way to a 0-point, 1-rebound performance as SU defeated Montana State, 7-70. Broussard currently leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 1.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Broussard has notched seven double-doubles so far this season. He needs 75 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career. STUFFING THE STAT SHEET: Senior guard Garrett Lever has been doing the little things to contribute to the team s effort so far this season. The son of former NBA player Fat Lever, he has earned.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.75 assists, and. steals per game. Lever finds himself in the right places on the court, as he is currently second on the team in rebounding and leads the way in steals for the second straight season. He scored a season-high 11 points, plus he grabbed eight rebounds, at San Francisco on Nov. 1 and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds at UC Irvine on Nov. 0. In the Nov. 17 victory over Oregon State, Lever added seven points and six rebounds to the winning effort. Lever has pulled down at least five rebounds in 19 games so far this season. He has also done a good job of slowing down the opponent s best scorer. For example, he held Xavier Silas of Northern Illinois, currently the seventh-leading scorer in the country, to six points on -of-9 shooting from the field

THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE: Alex Jones started the season by leading the Redhawks with 0 points at Maryland on Nov. 8. He contributed 10 points in the home opener against Cal Poly and 11 points in the Redhawks 8-80 victory over Oregon State. Jones took advantage of a favorable matchup against UC Irvine, finishing with 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists. On Dec. 18 against San Jose State, he scored a season-high 1 points in part on 6-of-6 field goal shooting. He repeated that 1-point performance Jan. 6 against Eastern Washington, shooting 7-of-1 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Jan. 8 against Cal State Northridge, Jones notched a careerhigh 9 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field and 10-of-11 shooting from the free throw line. Overall, he is averaging 11. points per game so far this season. RETURNING TO FORM: Junior guard Cervante Burrell has been showing signs of returning to the form he showed last season. He struggled at the start of the season before exploding for a then-career-high points in the victory over Oregon State. That started an 11-game stretch in which he averaged 1.9 points per game despite suffering a leg injury against Portland State Dec. 1. He looked like he was back to normal in mid- January with 18 points at Utah Valley and a doubledouble at Cal State Northridge with 0 points and 10 rebounds. After slumping for a few games, Burrell has reemerged in the last four contests. First, he made several key plays in helping Seattle U defeat Utah Valley Feb. 9, finishing with 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Against UC Davis Feb. 15, he scored 16 points and once again dished out five assists. He led Seattle U last Saturday at Northern Illinois with 17 points, plus he collected seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Against Washington last Tuesday, he scored a career-high 6 points, including several early points to keep the Redhawks close in the first half. This season he is fourth in scoring at 11.1 points per game and leads in assists with. assists per contest.
