Lady Chap Team Camp Game Rules Game Rules 1) Games will consist of 2 halves with an 18 minute running clock each half. 2) Teams will be given 5 minutes to warm-up and clock starts as soon as previous game buzzer goes off. Please arrive at designated gym 30 minutes before your game to stretch on the sidelines or wherever is possible. Everyone will be expected to be ready to go when 5-minute warm-up time begins. 3) Games are scheduled to begin every hour on the hour at each court. 4) Teams will be given 3 minutes at half-time to rest. 5) The clock will stop in last 2 minutes of each half on dead balls. 6) Each team will be given 3-30 second timeouts per game. If a game goes into overtime each team will be given an additional 30 second time out. 7) Regular U.I.L. high school basketball rules will be used for all games with the exception of fouling out & free throws. No player will foul out, but LCU coaches or officials reserve the right to step in if it becomes an issue. A player will shoot 1 free throw each time she is fouled that will count for the total number of points the player would have received. For example, if a player got fouled on a layup, a player would shoot 1 free throw worth 2 points if she makes it or nothing if she misses. If a player gets fouled on a 3pt attempt, that single free throw is worth 3 points or nothing. On a foul where a player makes the basket that FT is still worth 1 point. We will just shoot 1 free throw for one & ones & 1 free throw when teams are in the double bonus. That single free throw is worth 2 points each time. 8) Balls will be provided at each court for warming up & games. DO NOT bring your own balls into the gyms. Leave LCU balls at that court for next teams to use. 9) There will be at least one LCU representative at each court who will serve as score keeper/clock keeper/time-out keeper provided by LCU. Many times they will be our LCU players or former players. There will also be a facility manager in each location that can assist with clock or officiating if need arises. 10) Any overtime periods will be decided by sudden death and will begin with a jump ball. 11) 2 U.I.L. officials will have final say in all on-court disputes. These officials are all veteran high school & college officials and should be treated with the same professional respect & dignity that they give to teams & players. We reserve the right to forfeit a game or dismiss a team if there are issues with this from any players, coaches, and/or parents. We want to help your team get better, but let s remember this is not an NBA championship we are playing for.
Lady Chap Overtime Tournament 1) The Overtime Tournament will be played on Friday afternoon & evening. Each division will play against itself and the time allotted on the schedule. Each division should approximately take an hour and a half to complete the tournament and each game should take about 5 minutes of real time. Every team needs to stay in the RIP stands while your division is playing in the Overtime Tournament. 2) Each round & overtime periods will begin with a jump ball. 3) All games that end in a tie will go to sudden death in overtime. Fouls & timeouts will be carried over into overtime. No additional timeouts given when you go into sudden death. 4) This Single Elimination Tournament was created for fun/enjoyment of the game & winners will receive a prizes. We want the other teams sitting in the stands to create a crowd like environment while waiting for their turn to play. 5) We will use all U.I.L. high school basketball rules during this tournament including normal free throw shooting. 6) No warm-up time provided. Team will need to be stretched & ready to go before their time to step on the court. There will be 30 seconds between when the buzzer ends in one game & when we jump the ball up on the next game. Try not to leave in between rounds while your division is in play. 7) If one team is not ready, on the court, or a no-show, then the other team advances in the tournament via forfeit by other team. 8) Score will always begin tied at 50-50. 9) A 3-man crew of college officials will officiate each round of games as they will be running a clinic/camp for officials during this time. 10) Round 1: 75 Seconds on clock, 6 team fouls each, 1 20 second time-out each Round 2: 90 Seconds on clock, 7 team fouls each, 1 full time-out each Round 3: 120 Seconds on clock, 8 team fouls each, 2 20 second time-outs each Round 4: 120 Seconds on clock, 9 team fouls each, 1 20 second & 1 full time-out each 11) Prizes will be given to each division winner of the overtime tournament.
