Treasurer s Report (DJ) a. Current Financial Report : Accepted (AB motion to accept) 2. Player Agent (SM) a. 23 registered (1 new - Majors, 1 new - Minors): i. 1 Juniors ii. 7 Majors iii. 8 minors iv. 4 Rookie Minors v. 3 T-ball b. Dates for Registration and Evaluations: i. Evaluation Dates: 2/24-2/25 1. AB sent forms to DMA (cost: $50/hour)
ii. Registration Dates: 1/31 (6-8pm), 2/3 (10-12pm), 2/10 (6-8pm), 2/14 (10-2pm) c. We have a request for 2 scholarships 3. Information Officer (SMc) a. AB advised that SMc had been making updates, such as for Registration, but did not have any specific updates from SMc. 4. VP Majors (TM) a. Needles is hanging it up / decided to step down as Majors Manager i. Called AB on Sat. 1/13 to let him know b. Vote on Manager Candidates (closed vote) i. AB motioned to keep Jason Davis as the Mgr for the Braves, TM 2 nd, Board approved ii. For the Cubs and Cardinals, there were three (3) candidates 1. BJ Yeager a. AB advised BJ that if he gets voted into a Majors Manager role, he will only be able to do 1 team 2. Pete Maroni 3. Joe Huffman iii. Based on last year having three teams, we assume that we will have enough players to fill spots for the same number of teams, allowing for two (2) potential Manager positions. 1. Board members were asked to pick their top two (2) candidates and rank order. a. Rank order was requested in case we only have enough returning players to fill two (2) teams and the Manager with the most in position #1, will get the second team. 2. BJ Yeager received the most votes in position #1, will manage the Cubs, and will be guaranteed a Manager spot, should there only be two (2) teams. 3. Pete Maroni received the most votes in position #2, and will manage the Cardinals. c. Note: Assuming 3 teams, 33 Majors players (11 per team) would be the minimum and 36 players (12 per team) ideal. 5. VP Minors (JD) a. Aim to have more games at Catalina i. Need to confirm who needs to have keys, to ensure that everything is unlocked for games ii. Board members will email AB w/key request
b. Potential Coaching candidates? i. MZ advised that he will help coach whatever team that his son ends up on, but has other commitments and is not sure how much time he will have available ii. Minors Managers Candidates 1) Jimmy Lynch, 2) Kyle Cycyk, 3) Keith Hinkle, 4) Pat McGrory, 5) Tim Griffiths, 6) Bob Saunders 1. Board members were asked to rank order candidates, in case there are not enough open spots a. The resulting order is as listed above. iii. Evaluations for Minors players will be open to 7 year olds (league age), if parent feels they may be ready to move up. 6. VP Rookie Minor/ Tee-Ball (MZ) 7. VP Juniors/Seniors (SM) a. Dean Argo will coach Juniors, if his son wants to come back and play b. Prospects: Adam, Justin, Jerry, Josh, Steven, Jack c. Fields to be used: Delcastle and Banning (better of the 2 fields) 8. Coaching Coordinator (TM) a. TM will schedule a meeting to go over rules i. Ex: One (1) foot in the box at all times b. Update on Rules Committee meeting (coincides with Player Agent and Umpire in Chief Reports) i. Update on Draft Process for Majors and Minors: 1. Committee met to discuss draft process a. Included TM, JL, SM, JD b. JD did not vote on draft rules 2. SM distributed handout CLL 2018 Player Selection System Majors Division a. Electronic version is pending receipt, to be posted online with meeting minutes 3. Potential returning players numbers: a. Braves 7 b. Cubs 7 c. Cardinals 6 9. Umpires (JL) 10. Fields/Buildings (AJ / FP) a. Pitching machine still at BSS, but will remain there for now, based on space at Catalina b. Building Insurnace quote/update (TM):
i. TM went to Wallace Insurance (a long time sponsor) to get pricing on building insurance ii. Will cover the cost of replacement for builidings, and $10,000 each in contents iii. Does not cover cost of lost revenue, resulting from loss of use of a building iv. Cost: $1,400 per year v. DD said he will help shop the rate vi. The Little League coverage is only for injury c. Update on Dugouts at BSS (AJ) i. Don t have an exact pricing yet, but estimate is $3,500, for updating the 2 dugouts at Catalina and 2 at BSS 1. Need material list to price out ii. Several posts at BSS will need replaced and cemented in iii. AJ believes that our cost will only be materials, that contractor will cover cost of labor. But, it also considers CLL providing labor. d. Diamond Tex Delivery: i. Not ordered yet ii. Pyle will need double and plate replaced iii. Need to get a sod cutter to work on fields iv. Need new 20x30 tarp for BSS 1. AJ said he could pick up a new one e. Cataline Light Pole (MZ) 1. Looks like the ground wire is what s holding up the pole. 2. Since it s not a new pole, but replacing existing, we can replace with a wood pole 3. MZ s contacts advised that Exelon is not as open to offering assistance as Delmarva Power was previously a. We may be able to get a pole from them, but not any assistance with installation of the pole or electrical (re)hook-up 4. We likely need two major pieces of equipment and may be two contractors. 5. Don t have the actual cost yet, but estimate is $5,000-$10,000 6. TM said we could use the $7,500 grant toward the pole expense 7. MZ will reach out to Byers (electrical contractor), to see about getting a quote ii. Update on conversation with Bob Merrell: 1. BM did not show up when scheduled a. They re 68 people short
2. Need them to trim bushes and trees along fence iii. Concrete pad: 1. Can get concrete, but will not do forms 2. Kyle to connect with FP and AJ 3. MZ has someone to do forms 4. Need to set date, have forms ready, and then concrete can be delivered iv. Catalina 1. AB said that home plate was under water May need some work 2.
