II. ANNOUNCEMENTS Game Sheets Please reach out to Joan Strogen for extra game sheets. Manchester Monarchs Parker Wheeler, the Public Relations Coordinator for the Manchester Monarchs, handed out fliers regarding the youth hockey programs that the Manchester Monarchs is offering. They were very popular last year, and are a great way for the youth hockey players to interact with the team. For more information about these programs, please reach out to him for more information. His phone number is (603) 626-7825 ext. 6118 and his email address is pwheeler@manchestermonarchs.com. Roster Rule Paul Comeau announced that at last month s NED meeting, the roster rule was upheld. This is the one team one roster rule. Only USAH-approved rosters will be accepted moving forward. III. MONTHLY STATUS REPORTS Secretary Matt Roy moved, seconded by Leon Williams (Berlin), to accept the September 15, 2018 meeting minutes. The motion passed. Treasurer Mike Durant handed out copies of the Treasurer s Report noting that the 1 st column represented the present time; and the 2 nd column, last year at this time. Tryout registrations have doubled. They were low last year, and so this is excellent. The last page is the balance sheet. Independent team fees are up because there are more independent teams this year. 1 st Executive VP Matt Roy announced that releases are slowing down. The final day that GSL games can be submitted is February 10 th. Please reschedule any games that have scheduled thereafter. There have been a couple of administrative changes to the tournament matrix. They have already been made on the webpage. There has not really been any movement yet, because the Executive VPs are waiting for more games to be played. (Page 2)

Registrar This is a new position for Roger Gilles and Paul Comeau wished to acknowledge the excellent job that he has been doing. Local registers are encouraged to reach out to him at any time with questions.please ask associations to direct questions to him through their local registrars. Coaching Director Paul Comeau announced that there are coaching clinics today and that coaching clinics will be ending soon. Please remind coaches to sign up for them if they need them to remain certified. Referee-in-Chief Paul Comeau announced that NHAHA may be developing a program for referees in the foreseeable future. He will discuss this at greater length in the upcoming months. Mites Executive VP Paul Comeau announced that this is a vacant position. There is a Google Doc that teams have been using to arrange games. While the teams are free to do so, Paul wished to note that the document is not maintained by NHAHA. If hosting, please ensure that all teams are USAHregistered for insurance purposes. Squirts Executive VP Stephanie Laurin announced that game sheets are missing labels and that when labels are being used, that they are not in alphabetical order. Rosters (the originals) need to be submitted to her prior to games to avoid fines. Players must be rostered properly to play, even if only temporarily, otherwise they may not play. Midgets Executive VP Mat Roy announced that most of the tournament schedules have been posted online. He reiterated what Stephanie Laurin said about game sheets and rosters, as this applies to his teams too. Webmaster Kevin Fascetta announced that he has received the scorekeeper s contact information from every association but Henniker and Keene. Without this information he cannot grant scorekeepers access to the webpage so that they can submit scores by the Tuesday at noon deadline. SafeSport Coordinator (Page 3)

Cam Stoddard announced that there have been no reported incidents so far this season which is excellent. As a reminder, Paul Comeau announced that the SafeSport credential is a 3-part online series, and that a certification must be printed out for each module after it is completed in order to receive the credential. Paul also announced that there have been several match penalties and assaults upon officials during the past month. If there are out-of-state incidents, NHAHA may not be able to help unless there are videos, and then depending. Most of the incidents so far have occurred during Midgets games although a trash can was thrown during a Squirts game at The Rinks at Exeter. NHAHA has been addressing this last incident. Please reach out to Paul if interested in sitting on a hearing panel as doing so would help out the Executive Board tremendously. Women s Executive VP Chris Cooper announced that rosters need to be submitted and that games need to be scheduled. Festival tryouts will be held in Hooksett on November 5 th. There is a link on the webpage. Please reach out to Chris if interested in hosting the Super Site. Cam Stoddard moved, seconded by Chris Cooper to accept all of the above monthly status reports. The motion passed. IV. UNFINISHED BUSINESS GSL Tournament Matt Roy announced that the locations and dates that are available as of right now have been posted on the NHAHA webpage. Fascetta announced that the dedicated webpage for tournaments is up and running. There is a link on the NHAHA webpage leading to the dedicated webpage. The direct link is www.nhahatournaments.com. Please ask those responsible for tournament score reporting to reach out to Kevin so that he can grant them access to this new webpage. V. NEW BUSINESS Regionals/Girl s Super Site Paul Comeau announced that some of the hosts were selected at the Executive Board meeting this morning. Please reach out to Matt Roy if interested in hosting. A couple of associations at the meeting expressed an interest in hosting the Peewee Tier 3 tournament. The N.H. Jr. Monarchs won the draw for this tournament. Mick Mounsey (Concord) asked if the Executive Board could put together a set of guidelines for hosting. Paul agreed that a set of guidelines (Page 4)

would be a great idea, and acknowledged that it would be helpful if a committee was put together so that the associations could provide input. Mick offered to sit on such a committee. Coaches Helmet Rule Paul Comeau announced that the Executive Board members watch practices and games on Live Barn, and that a number of coaches have not been wearing helmets during practices. The helmet rule for coaches is not optional and violations will result in 30-day suspensions. This rule also applies to contracted skills coaches that are brought in because they are required to wear helmets by the USAH insurance policy just as regular coaches are. Grants Paul Comeau announced that applications are available on the webpage. A link will be featured on the main page this coming month, because they are due on November 1 st. Please start the process as soon as possible. IRS documents are required and may take a while to procure. Rule Change 1.B.3.a Paul Comeau announced that a notification regarding a rule change proposal went out in an email along with this meeting s agenda. This proposed rule change pertains to final rosters and would require split-season rosters to be due on October 1 st ; and full-season rosters, on December 15 th. The USAH s deadline is December 31 st however NHAHA needs time to review rosters in order to identify administrative errors that would otherwise keep players off the ice. Matt Roy moved, seconded by Leon Williams (Berlin) to accept the proposed rule change. The motion passed. Futures Development Camp Paul Comeau announced that the camp will be held during the weekend of March 29 th through 31 st for 12s and 13s both boys and girls. The date for tryouts will be posted on the webpage shortly. They will most likely be held at a central location in early January. The cost if selected will be $175 per player which will not include hotel expenses. Players from participating states will be mixed up and Roger Grillo from USAH will be running development and skills practices. New Hampshire will be providing eight of the coaches for this event, which will be held in Burlington, Vermont. Please reach out to Paul if interested in coaching. Players must be New Hampshire residents although they do not need to be GSL members. Boys 15s through 17s will have NED camps tryouts at The Rinks at Exeter on November 18 th. VI. CLOSING STATEMENTS Paul Comeau thanked everybody for coming and announced that the next meeting will be held on November 8 th at 6:30 pm (a Thursday night) at the Holiday Inn. The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 am. (Page 5)
