DE Turf Program Guide Spring 2019

Welcome On behalf of the board of directors and our team at DE TURF, welcome! The Turf as we like to call it, was created to serve as a first-class sports destination venue for a variety of tournaments and events that attracted over 100,000 visitors to Kent County in 2018. Locally, our twelve, beautiful, synthetic turf fields provide a home for local athletes and creates opportunities to service our community needs through a variety of different youth sports program offerings. Our team of highly experienced and passionate sport program directors and sport-specific certified coaching instructors are dedicated to the mission of providing high-quality instruction and creating unprecedented opportunities for the youth of central Delaware. It is our dream that every child in the state has equal opportunity to play, learn, compete and grow. Chris Giacomucci Executive Director Through our various offerings of leagues, clinics and camps across the sports of soccer, field hockey, lacrosse and rugby in 2018 we were able to serve over 2,000 families across the state. Our convenient location on Delaware Route 1 provides easy access to and from the facility, especially now with the opening of the South Frederica Overpass (Exit 83). Several parents have taken advantage of the size of the facility, utilizing our walking paths for runs and walks before and during practices and games. We invested in Wi-Fi technology so parents and children can utilize their phones freely and securely. In just a few short years, the complex will look more like a campus. We are working towards funding a brand-new recreational playground and pavilions for our families and youth to enjoy while on site. We hope you find this guide helpful and informative so that it will answer all of your program related questions and needs. Our team is always available to answer questions by calling us at 302-330-TURF (8873) or contacting our program leadership team. We look forward to seeing you at DE TURF. Play hard and have fun. 2
