MLB REHAB: On Friday, Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius was added to Tampa to begin a MLB Rehab assignment. The 27-year-old started has started and batted 2nd in each game, playing six innings at shortstop on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday and playing as the designated hitter in all nine innings on Sunday. So far, Gregorius is batting.429 (6-for-14) with a HR, double, an RBI and 2R. Gregorius is currently on New York's disabled list after suffering a right shoulder strain while playing in the World Baseball Classic. POWER OUTAGE: The Tampa offense has struggled to begin the season. The Yankees own the lowest team batting average in the Florida State League at.194. During the current 6-game losing streak, Tampa is scoring an average of 1.3 runs per game. The Yankees have not scored more than 3 runs in a game since 4/10 vs. Fort Myers (W/13, 4-3). MATEO'S MOTOR: On Sunday, Jorge Mateo collected his 11th stolen base in his 17th game played. In 2016, Mateo did not steal his 11th base until 5/14 (32 games). Mateo led the minor leagues with 82 stolen bases in 2015 before that number dropped to 36 last season (still leading the FSL). The 21-year-old is currently on pace for a bounce-back year. VS. CLEARWATER: Tonight will be the second game of 13 total in the season-series between the Tampa Yankees and the Clearwater Threshers. Clearwater currently leads the series, 1-0. Last season, the teams met 18 times and split the seasonseries, 9-9. In those games played at George M. Steinbrenner Field, Clearwater won the series, 7-3. BARK AT THE BALLPARK: The Tampa Yankees will host the 11th annual Bark at the Ballpark event on Saturday, May 6th, when the Tampa Yankees host the Charlotte Stone Crabs at George M.
