Recital 2018 Overview We are excited to invite you to the Lake Forest Dance Academy May Recitals 2018, In These Shoes and Wizard of Oz! In the enclosed packet you will find all the information you need. All this information is listed on our website - visit www.lakeforestdance.com and follow the links to the recital pages. Start Here! To find out which performance(s) your dancer is in, please click here: Student/Recital Alphabetical List or visit our website www.lakeforestdance.com and follow the links to the recital pages. Calendar: Enclosed is our Calendar of Important Dates. Please mark your calendars! Tickets: Online Ticket Sales open March 21 at 10:00am. Online ticket sales close on May 3. Tickets will be available at the door for $15.00. Photo Day: Sunday, April 8. Attached is a Photo Day Schedule and Photo Order Forms. Please note: Participation is highly encouraged. Please plan on attending all of your class photos even if you are not ordering prints. Individual photos will be taken on a first come first served basis in Studio 2 beginning at 10am. Bring all costume pieces and accessories and label everything with your name. Arrive in plenty of time to fill out order forms. Payment is due with your order. Credit cards, cash or check - payable to Kathleen Weinstein Photography. Rehearsals: All recital rehearsals are mandatory. Rehearsal Schedule is enclosed. Studio Rehearsal: We will have one studio rehearsal at LFDA for Wizard of Oz on Saturday, April 14. Dress Rehearsals: All dress rehearsals take place at Lake Forest High School. Performances/Show Orders are attached. Dancers are required to stay for the entire performance. Forms attached. Flowers: A limited number of flowers will be sold at the door. Volunteers: We need many volunteers in order to have a successful recital! Please sign up to assist at a dress rehearsal or a performance. Please return attached form by April 23.
General Recital Do's & Don ts: Dancers must attend all rehearsals to perform in the recital. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time to allow for parking, getting the dancer to their assigned row and placing costume changes in designated area. Label all costumes, accessories and shoes. Put all belongings in a bag labeled with dancer's name. Dancers are not allowed to wear any jewelry, watches or nail polish. Please do not bring valuables or electronics to any stage, tech, dress rehearsal or performance. Make up should be blush high on cheekbones, red lipstick - Revlon 740 and a small amount of eye shadow and mascara. Studio & Dress Rehearsals Studio Rehearsals are at LFDA studios. Regular dance attire is appropriate for studio rehearsals. Dress Rehearsals are at Lake Forest High School. Dancers should be warmed up and ready to dance at their designated time. Always arrive 15 minutes before start time. Dress rehearsals allow the dancers and technical crews to have a complete run through of the performance with sets, lights and costume changes. When dancers arrive, check the board in the auditorium foyer to see where to sit. All dancers should wear their first costumes, hair in a bun and make up applied. After their first dance, dancers with changes will be escorted to the changing room and volunteers will be there to assist and escort them back to their next class. The dressing room is in the basement under the stage. Once your dancer has completed all of their dances, they are dismissed. If your dancer is in more than one dance: The other costumes should be placed in the dressing room unless it is an approved quick change. A quick change is when a dancer has less than two other dances between their numbers. Quick change costumes are placed back stage. After their first dance, dancers with changes will be escorted to the changing room and volunteers will be there to assist and escort them back to their next class. Performance: Dancers check in at the volunteer table outside the David Miller Theater 1/2 hour before the show. Designated rows/ seating areas will be posted. Dancers should wear their first costumes, hair in a bun and make up applied. Dancers are to remain in designated areas until the recital is completed. All dancers will participate in the finale. After the performance, we must have one family member pick up your dancer at the David Miller Theater; the dancers will not be released to come to the lobby. ###
