End of Season Jamboree in March Date TBD Mountain Storm is unable to accommodate special requests for teams, coaches, or transportation and all players must reside within the Oregon Trail School District. Mountain Storm 3rd and 4th grade basketball utilizes a 3-on-3 format. Benefits of 3-on-3 Play: Focus more effectively on fundamental skills and development of a broader skill base. More opportunity to play and handle the ball. Better use of allocated gym time. More well-rounded youth players. Bigger players have to learn how to handle the basketball and to pass around the perimeter. Guards have to help rebound and have ample opportunity to get inside for lay-ups etc. It doesn t matter if you are the point guard or the star post player you are still going to get more touches on the ball. Rules support developing skills and make the games tons of fun! Each player will have more possessions and many more situations in which they will develop plays. Teams: Organized by school areas and two schools may be combined to make a team. Two teams will be formed from one school if needed. Schools will be verified. Must reside in the Oregon Trail School District. Game Format: Games will be played half-court. Teams will divide to play two games concurrently, one at each end of the court. After the first game teams will switch match-ups and play a second game. QUESTIONS?: Call Sandy Recreation 503-668-5569 or email recreation@cityofsandy.com
