(Absent from picture: Mackenzie L) How's 6th grade?! How s sixth grade? This is probably something you and your parents have been wondering about since all the way back in the beginning and end of summer. If you have, I am right there with you. All I thought about was what was sixth grade center was like. A few examples are, how much homework do we get, is it hard, are the lockers difficult, what will they do if you miss the bus, and everything else that might happen. I worry about stuff like this all the time, and trust me on that. After all the worrying this school is so much fun! Some examples of this is you get to get up and be able to walk in between classes, sometimes they can be long walks and sometimes they may be short. This school year can be a mixture of both of these things, so I 2

Student Council is a group of decisive students who make the decisions regarding all the activities we take place in. Years prior there has been a beginning of the year/ Halloween Dance, but the Council has decided to replace that with Marsh Creeks First Annual Trick or Trunk, taking place October 26 in the MC parking lot. For more information stop by Ms Busby or Oswalds office. They have also decided that there will be no spring dance, but a black top party! It will be on move up day once we come back from visiting our designated middle schools! Be sure to ask one of the following representatives about the club. The following are Student Council Representatives for 2017-2018 3

Baseball anyone? Yes Marsh Creek has many after school activities, but some choose to take part in out of school activities like joining a sports team. The next article gives some insight into the world of baseball. ASBA Tournaments With a successful tournament this weekend for All Star Baseball Academy going 2-1 in Flemington, New Jersey. In the tournament from Marsh Creek 6th Grade Center was Matthew S, Kyle M, Sam B, and Jack R. Playing their 1st night game as a team we won the game 11-4 against the Dbacks. Unfortunately ASBA did not win the tournament but 3 people on the team hit home runs including yours truly Jack R with a slammer over the right field fence. But Jack R isn't the only one that hit a homerun, Kyle M hit one over the left field fence a few weeks ago in Bordertown, Pennsylvania. Previously Sam B pitched a flawless game but the defense didn't help him out, so he got the loss in the second game at 4:30pm. The third game, two of ASBAs players hit two home runs. And with Ian W getting the win in the last game of the weekend.we ended up getting the win against The Ravens. Even though we lost the tournament we went home feeling like champions, hoping we will win the next tournament at Ripken Baseball Experience in Aberdeen, Maryland, which is this weekend ( September )The Ripken tournaments is one of the biggest tournaments in the country. Last time ASBA was there we won the whole tournament. The team goes into the weekend with high hopes of victory. ASBA came in second place of 9/30/17 10/1/17 with a 9 inning game to get in the playoffs against the Chester County Rebels and getting the win against the Sluggers and a devastating loss against the BC Generals on Cal Ripken Sr. field. Stay tuned for our next tournament in two weeks place to be determined. - Jack R 5
