What is YRDA? The YRDA is a motorsport academy focussed on identifying and developing young racing driver talent and providing a pathway from karting into singleseater racing. YRDA will deliver a specialist programme and provide tailored mentoring, marketing and management support as part of a partnership between The Business of Sport, Arden and 7 Legal. YRDA, its partners, and all involved in the YRDA programme possess the necessary level of expertise and experience across of the business of motorsport to encourage and support a young racing driver in maximising his or her performance and on and off track potential. YRDA Aims: To identify talented young racing drivers and provide opportunities for those individuals to develop the necessary range of skills, knowledge and level of confidence to fully prepare them to compete at the highest level of motorsport. To provide a comprehensive support mechanism dedicated to mentoring, marketing and managing the YRDA members in all aspects of their careers. To deliver through the exclusive link with the Arden Team both driver training and also an invaluable interface between the young drivers and a leading GP2/GP3/FR3.5 team enabling them to build a relationship with the team and learn about the cars they aspire to race in on their journey to the top.
YRDA Programme Delivery: YRDA and its partners and consultants will deliver a series of exclusive interactive seminars and workshops for the Academy members (and their parents or guardians) on a wide range of topics including: o The Business of Motorsport; o Driver race preparation. o Fitness, nutrition and hydration; o Sports Psychology; o Interpersonal skills and public speaking; o Website and social media management; o Media, PR and communications; o Interview skills; o Sponsorship acquisition and retention; o Marketing and brand development and exposure; o Negotiation skills; o Legal and contractual issues; o On and Off track Management; o Budget and financial management; o Motorsport Insurance; o Team performance and dynamics; o Theoretical and practical understanding of vehicle dynamics. YRDA will also nurture, support and encourage the development of its talent by providing: o Dedicated on track and off track support; o Individually tailored physical training and nutrition programmes; o Honest appraisals of performance and meaningful career information; and o Guidance and support in all contractual matters; and will assist in: Selection Process: o Identifying, procuring and securing the necessary funding to facilitate optimum career progression; and o Creating and managing the driver s brand. Young drivers will be invited to participate in the YRDA programme on the basis of their ability alone.
Each young driver s long-term goal must be to compete at the pinnacle of international motorsport.
