From the Office of the President February 2017 We have another month until the official end of winter, but I did get to take the Corvette out a few weeks ago. Sue s car was going to be in the shop for a week and I was going to be out of town that week for work. Sue got to experience winter driving in my truck and I got to experience driving the Corvette in cold weather on my way to the airport. It wasn t as bad as I thought it would be. Maybe I should put snow tires on the Corvette and drive it all year. On Sunday, February 19 th, NRL is invited to race die cast cars with the Chicago Corvette Club at Oak Street Grill in North Aurora. It sounds like a fun event. The flyer is in this issue. Also the Midwest Region NCCC is holding their annual award banquet on Saturday, April 1 st. Linda Fairlamb was the #1 lady in the Midwest Region last year! Come to the banquet and cheer her on. The flyer for the banquet is this issue as well. Happy Motoring and remember to Save the Wave. Patrick Lopardo President Northern Rays LTD.

Fliers were passed out, and Pat showed us examples of the car sizes, and went into great detail on what to do to make the cars faster. Vice President s Report Sue Lopardo St. Jude donations are due tonight. Bill Panzer collected the donations. Thank you to everyone who donated. Let s think about new ideas for the Christmas party/dinner, and new club events for the year. Some ideas: Botanical Gardens this Christmas season, and possibly an additional wine trip in May. Sue discussed dates for the Food Bank volunteer day. April 8 th is the day members decided. Treasurer s Report Linda Fairlamb We have money! We are working to have Convention registration available on line on the National Council of Corvette Clubs web site, http://corvettesnccc.org/convention2017.html Registration is planned to open on January 2, 2017. This year you will have to register for your hotel rooms separately and that information will be available with the Convention registration form. Also if you are planning to tour the Corvette assembly plant you will have a separate website to visit to schedule your tour through the National Corvette Museum. The Corvette Plant no longer handles plant tours, this is all scheduled and led by the Museum staff. W on for you! Richard Yanko & Deb Murphy 2017 Convention Directors
