And UNLEASHED begins... NOW. [A4 - INTRO_NEWS_CLUBS MEETING] Good morning Wildcats. Clubs are back and several are meeting this week. And on Thursday, the leadership team is meeting with club presidents and students who are interested in starting a club this semester. The mandatory meeting on Thursday, in the small gym, during lunch. The goal is to review the plan for Spring Club Rush and the application process. Spring Club Rush is scheduled for Valentine's day, February 14th. Again, the clubs meeting is Thursday, during lunch, in the small gym. [A5 - NEWS_INTERACT] There are a few clubs meetings coming up. The astronomy club is meeting today, at lunch, in room E-10. And the Interact Club is back. Freshman, the counselors are headed your way. NATPOP The counseling team is visiting your Geography class this week to discuss graduation requirements and options for classes next year. At the presentation, you will learn about course preview day, how to sign up for classes online, and receive your course selection sheet. If you are taking an AP test, the last day to order your Exam is February 1st. Students who do not log in to the Total registration website and order their test, will not be allowed to take the AP Exam in May. See Mrs. LeRoy in Counseling if you have any questions. [A8 - NEWS_LENNAR HOMES] And... if you are a junior, Lennar Homes is hiring thirty six juniors to build homes in West Roseville. NATPOP BITA teacher Brett Hunter is hosting a free workshop after school, tomorrow, with a representative from the company. The workshop is in Mr. Hunter's classroom, C3. And if you are a senior who attends the workshop, you will be invited to participate in a construction career fair on April 13th. [A10 - NEWS_MR WHS] The Mr. WHS Competition is back. The 2019 Mr. WHS event is underway, and contestant forms are due today, to room C-2. While they were there, Niki and Cameron went snowboarding and toured Boise State. Niki said she had so much fun walking around downtown Boise and was glad she got to share it with Cameron. opportunity of a lifetime. Soccer player Ki - Jana Hoever became the youngest player in Liverpool history to play in a FA cup. During the game, Liverpool starter Dejan Lovren was injured and unable to play. Ki- Jana was subbed in for the rest of the game. Even though Liverpool lost, Coach Klopp said his skills as a defender caught his attention during training prior to playing the game. [A16 - OUT WORD] And the Liverpool coaches said they hope they can keep Ki-Jana on the team, even though he is on a two year contract. Comment about the WORD... Comment about the WORD... First, the annual Placer Country Rotary Contest is now open. Pick up a speech contest packet from Ms. U in the library lab. The deadline to pick up a packet is Monday. Also, the Lions Club is hosting a contest on February 5th. This year's topic is "Freedom of the Press: what does it mean?" If you would like to be one of the two students to represent our school, see Mrs. Randazzo in the career center. Speeches are due by Friday. [B3 - CAREER_SPEECH TREK] And... If you would like to enter the 2019 Speech Trek Contest, the application deadline is tomorrow.
NATPOP This year's topic is "How can we eliminate violence aimed at our schools". The contest is open to all grade levels, and there are multiple cash prizes for winners of the contest. Again the application deadline is tomorrow. [B4 - CAREER_BOYS STATE] The California Boys State organization is looking for junior, male, students to apply to be a delegate at this year's workshop. Boys State is a fast-paced week of activities geared toward a better understanding of the government and developing leadership skills. See Mrs. Randazzo in the career center for more information.
