We stopped at Deerfield,NH Leather where Susie got another suprise. She got a Pot Holder with a Dragonfly on it. We stopped at Carole Sheehans Parents house right on Hampton beach. We left and r r rode to Newicks at Dover Point to eat and onto Lone Oaks for Ice Cream. It was a great ride put together by John Sheehan. Thanks Carole and John. On Saturday June 18th Susie and I went to NH-A to the Road Captain Class. Bonnie Bolster and Dick Bernier did a great job in the class and on the road teaching us all the safe ways to do things with a group ride. Thanks Bonnie and Dick.
On Saturday 6/25 and Sunday 6/26 Fred and Lisa took us to Newburgh,NY to Motorcycle Pedia Museum. We stopped at Williamsburg Country Store on the way to NY. Also stopped to have a picnic lunch. We arrived at the Museum around 3pm. We saw a poster on the wall that NY-X meets at the Museum in turn they volunteer at the museum. I pinned one of our cards under the poster and got an email from Alex Borrero the NY-X chapter director. NY-X will be at the Wells Ogunquit weekend. Looking forward to meeting them. Oh Yeah back to our trip. After we left the Museum we checked in at the Super8 and made dinner plans. We only went across the street but with no cross walks we rode to be safe. The Long Horn accommodated us very well. After dinner some of us went to OCC Orange County Choppers. We didn't become movie stars but had a great time there. Returned to the hotel for much needed rest. Sunday morning we ate breakfast at Denny's. We were able to walk down the hill avoiding the holes the gophers had made. No street to cross was a plus. Back to the Hotel to check out. Fred & Lisa took us on a different route home. We did stop at 2 more Country Stores The Huntington Country Store and The New Salem Country Store both in Mass. A great ride with great friends and great weather. Fred, Lisa,Armand,Michelle,Bill,Dee,Pat,AnnMarie,Susie and I had a great weekend. Thank You Fred & Lisa July 9th On The Rocks Ride is postponed. Sorry for the incovienence. Ron & Susie Black GWRRA NH-E Directors (603)532-9342

Rider's Education; QUICK TIPS: General Guidelines For Riding A Motorcycle Safely Be visible: Remember that motorists often have trouble seeing motorcycles and reacting in time. Make sure your headlight works and is on day and night. Use reflective strips or decals on your clothing and on your motorcycle. Be aware of the blind spots cars and trucks have. Flash your brake light when you are slowing down and before stopping. If a motorist doesn t see you, don t be afraid to use your horn. Dress for safety: Wear a quality helmet and eye protection. Wear bright clothing and a light-colored helmet. Wear leather or other thick, protective clothing. Choose long sleeves and pants, over-the-ankle boots, and gloves. Remember the only thing between you and the road is your protective gear. Apply effective mental strategies: Constantly search the road for changing conditions. Use MSF s Search, Evaluate, Execute strategy (SEESM) to increase time and space safety margins. Give yourself space and time to respond to other motorists actions. Give other motorists time and space to respond to you. Use lane positioning to be seen; ride in the part of a lane where you are most visible. Watch for turning vehicles. Signal your next move in advance. Avoid weaving between lanes. Pretend you re invisible, and ride extra defensively. Don't ride when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Know and follow the rules of the road, and stick to the speed limit. Know your bike and how to use it: Get formal training and take refresher courses. Call 800.446.9227 or visit www.msf-usa.org to locate the Motorcycle Safety Foundation handson RiderCourseSM nearest you. Practice. Develop your riding techniques before going into heavy traffic. Know how to handle your bike in conditions such as wet or sandy roads, high winds, and uneven surfaces. Remember: Give yourself space. People driving cars often just don t see motorcycles.
Even when drivers do see you, chances are they ve never been on a motorcycle and can t properly judge your speed. www.msf-usa.org 10/06 Upcoming Event's; To see what other Chapter's are doing, check out https://gwrranhdistrict.shutterfly.com/calendar New England Rally July 21-23 NH-E Gatering July 30 NH-G Get Away Aug 19-21 VT-A Wells Oguquit Get Away Sept. 15-17 Newsletter Editor Web&Facebook Master; Hope you are enjoying the Chapter E Newsletter as well as the Web page and Facebook Page!
