S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night The Presbyterian College women s soccer team opens a three-match homestand with a Saturday night contest against the Campbell Camels at The Blue Hose look to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to UNC Asheville on Tuesday with their first Saturday night game of 2011. Scouting the Camels Campbell visits Clinton with a five-match winning streak and a 3-0-0 record in Big South Conference play. The Camels recently topped UNC Asheville, 2-1, and earned victories at Gardner-Webb (3-0) and Winthrop (4-1). Ashley Clark leads the team in scoring with eight goals and four assists for 20 points and Pirjo Leppikangas has also recorded seven goals and five assists. Series History Each side has won one match in the two meetings between the two teams. PC took the inaugural match in 2007 by a 2-0 margin before Campbell evened the series with a 2-1 victory in Clinton in 2008. Campbell returns to the Big South Conference this year after leaving the conference for the Atlantic Sun in 2004. Last Time Out PC dropped a road match to UNC Asheville on Tuesday afternoon, 3-0. The Bulldogs scored once in the first half and twice in the second and Sarah Beth Anderson tied a season-high with eight saves in the effort. Two in a Row PC secured its second win of the year and second win in a row with a 1-0 blanking of The Citadel on September 20. Stephanie Allen scored her first career goal on assists from Taylor Patti (a career first) and Gracie Boswell. Sarah Beth Anderson made a season-high eight saves, including six in the first half, to secure the shutout. Big Time in the Big South Goalkeeper Sarah Beth Anderson earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept- Next Up for the Blue Hose... The Blue Hose stay at home for their next two matches of a three-match homestand. PC hosts Charleston Southern on Thursday night before taking on Coastal Carolina in a Homecoming morning matchup on October 15.

Kozera joins Christy Schofer and Gracie Boswell as PC freshman who have found the net. Boswell (six points), Kozera (two points), Schofer (two points) and Taylor Weekly Awards Patti (one point) have accounted for 52.4 percent of the team s point total. Big South Defensive Player of the Week One to Watch TopDrawerSoccer.com named junior midfielder Alice Blackwell to its Top 20 women s soccer players in the Big South Conference. Blackwell appeared on the list at No. 19 and has played in all 11 matches. Movin on Up Goalkeeper Sarah Beth Anderson has made her senior season one to remember, carving her name in the program s record books. With eight saves against The Citadel on September 20, Anderson took sole possession of the PC career saves list. Her total, now at 242, tops Emily Campbell s 214 saves, set from 1993 through 1996. Anderson has averaged five saves per game throughout the 2011 campaign. The Two Captains Seniors Sarah Beth Anderson and Jessica Kramer lead PC as the team s two captains this season. Anderson posted five shutouts in 12 games in 2010 with help from Kramer on the back line. This year, Kramer ranks third on the team in minutes played (626) and has tallied one assist. 2010 in Review The Blue Hose enjoyed a standout season in 2010, matching a program-high five wins since joining the Big South Conference and providing several exciting finishes. In a notable defensive feat, all five wins came by shutout. The high point of the campaign came when PC rattled off three straight wins midway through the season. A 1-0 overtime win over Erskine preceded another 1-0 blanking, this time against Francis Marion. The Blue Hose wrapped up the run with a 2-0 victory over VMI, giving the team its first win over a Big South opponent since the 2008 season finale. Harris. Seven sophomores and four juniors return to join the core of four seniors. Leading scorer Rebecca Miller returns for her second year, one of four game-winning goal scorers who also return. At the Helm Brian Purcell returns as PC s head coach for the 23rd year. Purcell, the only coach in program history, enters this season with a 225-150-17 career record.
