(Dancers are nt required t excel in every aspect f auditins but it is recmmended that they try them all) Dancers will be judged n hw prepared they are, hw fast they pickup the material as well as ther general criteria. After auditins have cncluded, dancers will be dismissed while the judges scre all the applicants and determine the dance team rster. The results will then be psted n ur website by 10pm that night. (we knw everyne will be excited!) If yu are chsen t be a part f the dance team, the fllwing plicies and requirements will apply t yu. If yu are nt chsen, please knw that we really appreciate yu taking time t cme and participate and we hpe t see yu at the next auditin! *** The ATD Blue Heat dance team will primarily be a cmpetitin team but may als be asked t perfrm at lcal nursing hmes and ther events. The team will als perfrm 1 rutine in ATD s annual spring recital. We als have a clsed Facebk grup fr team members that we use, alng with email & texts, fr cmmunicatin. We will keep yu as infrmed as we can and ask that if yu ever have questins r cncerns that yu talk t us as sn as any issues arise. Mst f the cmpetitins we wuld be attending are in the Quad Cities r Peria area. We ll try t keep the cmmuting t a minimum but please be aware that it s necessary. If yu need t schedule a ride fr yurself please d s ahead f time. Mst cmpetitins are held n Saturdays and/r Sundays. ALL THAT DANCE BLUE HEAT APPLICATION & LIABILITY WAIVER POLICIES, REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ATD BLUE HEAT DANCE TEAM MEMBERS 1. All team members are required t be enrlled in at least 1 dance class (preferably ballet, lyrical r jazz) at ATD while bein g a member f Blue Heat. 2. All ATD Blue Heat dance team members MUST be f the crrect age due t the age grups and categries we will be entering in cmpetitins this year. 3. Yu are expected t be at EVERY rehearsal! Only emergency absences will be allwed. Absences fr schl functins and all ther nn-emergency absences require a nte at least 3 weeks in advance. Failure t d s will result in a strike. Any team member receiving 3+ strikes will be remved frm the team and lse their depsit. 4. Any dancer arriving mre than 5 minutes late t rehearsal will be cnsidered tardy. Three tardies will equal ne strike and t he same plicy fr strikes applies as stated abve. Please talk t Lindsay r Kaity if yu have any cnflicts ahead f time. Rehearsal times will be discussed at the first meeting but will mst likely be Saturday and Sunday afternns & evenings. We reserve th e right t dismiss any dancer frm the team if we feel he/she has missed t many rehearsals. 5. Team members will respect all teachers, fellw team members and anyne we cme in cntact with utside f the studi. Yu (as well as anyne yu bring with yu t cmpetitins) will be a representatin f the team and ATD at all times and yu are expected t be n yur best behavir. 6. All dancers will wear dance pants r knit shrts and tps t rehearsal and have his/her hair pulled back. Abslutely NO JEANS are allwed. There is als NO GUM CHEWING allwed during rehearsals. 7. All dancers must have crrect dance shes fr practices. We will decide later which specific style & clr everyne shuld have (all dancers will need the same shes fr cmpetitins) 8. All dancers must have a pair f basic black dance pants. We may use these as a base fr cstumes and they re nice t have n hand. We d als recmmend wning a pair f suntan bdy tights (we can rder them) 9. We have dance team jackets and all members f the team will be expected t have ne & wear t every uting. Cst per jacket is $75. (previus team members will nt need t purchase an additinal jacket) 10. All members f ATD Blue Heat are required t abide by the Plicies & Curriculum f All That Dance. 11. If any dance team member fails t abide by the plicies & requirements f the ATD Blue Heat dance team he/she will be asked t leave the dance team. 12. All That Dance, Lindsay Jamesn and all teachers & assistants are nt respnsible fr any accidents r injuries ccurring n r during cmpetitins r rehearsals. 13. Yu authrize ATD t use any phts f yu fr prmtinal use. 14. WHEN WE COMPETE: When we are at a cmpetitin, we will stick tgether. Missing a cmpetitin is nt acceptable. (Again, please talk t Lindsay r Kaity if a cnflict arises s we can wrk arund it) Getting in truble r kicked ut f a cmpetitin is nt acceptable. Hw yu act affects the entire team and it is expected that all members are n their best behavirs at all times. It s als best if all t eam members arrive at the venue at the same time and dressed alike. (Carpling is a great idea!) This shws unity fr a team appearance is very imprtant in cmpetitive dance. FEES There will be a membership fee f $30 per mnth per member. Membership fees will be due n the first practice f each mnth. This mney shuld be payable t All That Dance. (First fee due Sunday, August. 7th) As stated abve, each member will be expected t purchase the team jacket alng with whatever cstuming necessary fr each cmpetitin. NEW THIS YEAR: There will be a $200 cstume depsit that is due by Nvember 30th, 2016. This depsit will be used fr cstuming fr cmpetitin dances. All team members will be taught every dance but nly thse wh successfully auditin (fr each piece) will be cast. Once we have a cnfirmed cstume and cast list per dance, we ll apply the fees accrdingly. If a dancer has a credit balance after the depsit has been applied, she may chse a refund r t have the credit applied t mnthly dues and/r cmpetitin fees. This depsit can be paid in small amunts during the first 4 mnths f rehearsals but the full balance is due n later than Nvember 30th, 2016. Mnthly team fees are nn-refundable. If yu have paid t be n the dance team and decide t quit at anytime (r is asked t leave) he/she will nt be refunded any f the team fees already paid. Written cnfirmatin is required frm each dancer if he /she decides t quit the team and all fees will be due until cnfirmatin is received. Each cmpetitin has its wn set f fees. These vary per dance and are charged per dancer, per dance (and can add up quickly!) Mst fees are $40-$100 per dancer per dance. (Sls and dus are mre expensive) Once we have the fee schedule fr each cmpetitin, we ll let each dancer knw. It s the respnsibility f each dancer t make sure his/her fees are paid t ATD n time. Fr every cmpetitin, there are late fees. If, fr example, yur mney is late, s is everyne else s. It isn t fair fr the entire team t pay a late fee fr nly ne persn s please be sure yur mney is turned in n time. Als please nte that if yur fees a re nt paid prmptly, yu will nt be allwed t participate in the cmpetitin.
FUNDRAISING We are mre than happy t set up fundraisers t help ffset fees. We already have a Scentsy & Jumpy Mnkey cffee fundraiser in Octber fr recital cstumes but we can als apply thse credits t a team member s Blue Heat fees if yu d prefer. We can d t her fundraisers t help with these fees & will discuss them as the year prgresses. Remember, the mney YOU make will be used fr YOUR fees. All prfit will g t the studi and we will apply it t yur expenses. If, at the end f the year, yu have mney left ver; yu will be refunded the difference. Each team member will be able t use his/her fundraiser mney fr clthing, dance team fees r any ther team related cst. A cmpetitin dance team is expensive and ding these fundraisers is a great way t help ffset the csts. We ask that all members try their best t make sure they succeed!! Please understand that being a cmpetitive dancer at any studi is a privilege, NOT A RIGHT. Lindsay, Kaity and any ATD staff member reserve the right t remve yu frm a dance number, class r the team fr any cde f cnduct disbedience. This change may be temprary r permanent. As cmpetitive team members yu are expected t be respectful, tasteful, and punctual at rehearsal, class and cmpetitin. This list f rules is nt meant t be exhaustive. We understand that mst f this stuff yu wuld never d and mst f it is cmmn sense, but if there is ever an issue we want t make sure we address it nw. If there are any questins, cmments r cncerns d nt hesitate t cntact Lindsay r Kaity. Punctuality Dancers will be n time fr rehearsal, class and cmpetitins. Thse wh are late will receive a recrded tardy. After three unexcused tardies, dancers will be pulled frm a dance fr at least ne cmpetitin. If unexcused tardies cntinue t happen after this, the dancer will be subject t remval frm the team. It is imprtant that everyne is n time fr rehearsal, class and cmpetitin because we are a team and we will nly succeed as a team if we re all wrking with the same dedicatin. If yu knw yu are ging t be tardy, please, text Kaity PRIOR t yu being late and let her knw. Otherwise, it is unexcused. If yu are dismissed frm class r rehearsal fr any reasn, it will cunt as an unexcused tardy. Any unexcused absences frm rehearsals will nt be tlerated. If yu are unable t participate in a cmpetitin, Kaity & Lindsay need t be ntified at least three mnths prir t the event. We can t prperly prepare fr a cmpetitin unless we knw wh is available t attend. Unexcused absences frm cmpetitins are cmpletely UNACCEPTABLE unless previus arrangements have been made. Respect Dancers will be respectful f instructrs and chregraphers. It is the chregrapher/instructr s jb t critique the students. Dancers will nt slicit critiques t ther dancers unless they are asked t d s by the instructr/chregrapher. This is cnsidered t be rude and can cause ther dancers t get dwn n themselves. If this cde is brken, yu may be dismissed frm the class r rehearsal. At cmpetitin, be respectful at all times because yu never knw wh is watching. Dancers must cnduct themselves as classy and respectful yung ladies at all times. Being respectful includes having great sprtsmanship. Treat thers hw yu wuld like t be treated. Everyne lves encuragement (and applause!) s yu shuld feel cnfident cheering fr yur wn teammates as well as ther dancers wh are perfrming. ABSOLUTELY NO PHONES WHEN YOU ARE BACK STAGE. Cell phnes are t stay in yur bag in the dressing rm r with yu in the audience. When at awards, dancers shuld cngratulate all teams n their wins and applaud when they re given. Any disrespect r pr sprtsmanship will NOT be tlerated. Dress Dancers will cme t rehearsal and class prepared t wrk. Dancers hair must be pulled back ut f their face, n jewelry shuld be wrn, and dancers shuld wear crrect ftwear and clthing. On cleaning days/weeks (week befre cmpetitin), all black attire will be required. Failure t cmply with these will result in dismissal frm class until the dancer is prepared. At cmpetitin, dancers will be required t cme with make-up already applied, hair dne (unless getting assistance frm anther dancer) and the first cstume n. Failure t d s will result in a tardy. During awards, and anytime nt n stage, dancers must wear their Blue Heat jackets. General Please keep in mind that Lindsay & Kaity als have scial media accunts. If it s discvered that a dancer has misinfrmed the teachers/chregraphers f his/her absence, is psting disrespectful/rude/inapprpriate/hurtful
wrds, cyber bullying, r any ther unacceptable behavir, he/she will be remved frm cmpetitins and pssibly the team. D nt pst pictures yu d nt want yur teachers t see n scial media. When yu cme t class and rehearsal, we expect yu t give yur very best. If we feel as instructrs that yu are nt ding s, actin will be taken. If yu put in the wrk and yu will get the results. It is nt fair t yu OR yur teammates if yu aren t giving it yur all. We want t d the best we can and have fun!
