Any teams wishing to host an incoming touring team should speak to the committee. For those teams who are arranging their own tours in the UK or further afield please also ensure that you have approval from the committee for tours abroad RFU approval is essential
Touch Rugby Wednesday Evenings 6.45 pm We have once again arranged a programme of regular touch rugby at Market Bosworth RFC Cadeby Lane Market Bosworth CV13 0BA on Wednesday evenings as part of the O2 Summer Touch Rugby programme. We are hoping to attract past players, current players and those who may never have played at all. This is for over 18 s only men and women no upper age limit! The emphasis will be on fun and enjoying the great game without the physicality of the full contract game. Every Wednesday 6.45pm 8.30pm Market Bosworth RFC Cadeby Lane. The first session was on Weds 9 th April and will be every Wednesday through the summer we had a great turnout of 18 players thanks to all who came along. Whether it is about rediscovering sporting abilities you forgot you had, or about getting fit again, O2 Touch offers a number of ways to get involved it will be informal and you can play as much or as little as you want to. Owen Hills selected for England Under 18's Ex Bosworth prop forward Owen Hills has been named in a squad of 24 to play against Scotland on Sunday 9th March Owen left Bosworth in the summer of 2012, and joined the Leicester Tigers Academy, He has been a regular starter in this seasons Premiership Rugby U18's Academy League, and his 5 tries in 6 games, including 3 in one game against Worcester at Welford Road, helped Tigers finish 2nd in the Northern Section of the league. This meant Tigers played Harlequins on Finals Day at Allianz Park, and once again Owen was on the score sheet, helping Tigers to 27-7 victory. Everyone from Bosworth Colts wishes Owen all the best as he starts his England career. Neil Ashton Owen played his part coming off the bench to enjoy a victory for England 28 points to 6.
The annual Tigers Summer camps will be at MBRFC 21 st to 25 th July for Under 9 s to Under 14 s 21 st to 23 rd July for Under 7 s to Under 8 s
Presidents Day A match is being planned for Saturday 3 rd May to celebrate President s Day. We would like to make this a whole club affair and further details of timings etc. will be announced ASAP. There will not be a separate Presentation Day on Bank Holiday Monday as last year however any teams wishing to hold their own event are able to book the clubhouse please speak to Steve Dumford. Bosworth Colts - National Cup Bossie Colts National Cup progress was halted by Carlisle but what a good game and what great hosts our boys were for our visitors from Carlisle. A really good cup run from a team that always gives their best the club is proud of you. Changing Rooms We are still planning to develop the new changing block in the summer planning application has been submitted and we will need help to turn the project around in order to be ready for September. Rugby Force After a successful rugby force event last summer we hope to run a similar weekend this year potentially involving the finishing touches to the new changing rooms. This is a really important event demonstrating as it does many of the core values for which rugby is cherished including hard work, teamwork and respect for each other a great way to bring all strands of the club together and make a positive contribution to our shared facility further details to follow. Junior Summer Camp Following the success of last year s event Jonathan Chadburn is once again organising a session this year. Age groups will be for next season s Under 13-16 Timetable will be to start around 1.30 and to finish around 4.30/5pm As last year we will have a BBQ/Hog roast in the late afternoon Summer School Dates are 6 th to 8 th August We need volunteers please to help organise The Summer Scholl is a great way to promote the club and attract new players.
