Venue All events will be centred on the Loch Venachar Sailing Club, situated on the south side of Loch Venachar within the Trossachs National Park. The clubhouse will provide changing and showering facilities and this is where the race briefings will take place. Please note that there is limited parking at the clubhouse and cars must not block the estate access roads. More information will be sent with the information pack prior to the event.
Temporary Membership Entries will be accepted from swimmers who are not currently members of the SASA or another national governing body providing they submit an application for temporary membership and an additional fee of 10. Temporary members can win medals but are not eligible for any trophies. Catering Lunches (soup, sandwich, cake & tea/coffee) will be available on both days by pre-ordering for 5 per person per day. Note that vouchers are non-refundable and change will not be given. Light refreshments will also be available during the course of the day. Conditions and Notes 1. Swimmers may be required to submit to a medical examination prior to the event. 2. The Organising Committee reserve the right not to accept entries from swimmers who they believe may not be capable of completing the event within the cut-off times. 3. Competitors must wear swimming caps provided. 4. Cut off times will apply as follows; 10 km 4½ hours 5 km 2¼ hours, 2 km 1 hour 1 km 45 mins. Competitors still swimming on expiry of these times will be required to leave the water without completing the race. 5. A medical declaration form MUST be completed by anyone that is competing in a Scottish Championship event. If not already done, this form can be downloaded from the Scottish Swimming website. 6. By entering this event you agree to become registered as an open water swimmer on the SASA membership database (temporary members are exempted). 7. Entries will not be accepted under the name of clubs who are members of SASA affiliated composite teams. Entries made under the name of such clubs will be changed to an entry under the name of the relevant composite club. 8. Competitors should be aware that swimming in open water events brings with it a small risk of contracting leptospirosis (Weil s disease) and that they should contact their doctor if they feel ill in the days after the event. Ltd to: Date received by event organiser: Approved by: Temporary Competitor Number: Extracts From SASA Constitution Relating to Temporary Competitor Members C3.8.5 The promoter is responsible for considering the applications to compete in the event and forwarding the corresponding temporary membership applications to the Chair of the relevant discipline a minimum of one week before the event. The Chair will consider applications and confirm, or otherwise, to the promoter whether the application is acceptable given the limits set out in C3.8.6. The promoter is responsible for confirming to the applicant that temporary membership has been granted. C3.8.6 C3.8.7 C3.8.8 C3.8.9 An applicant can only apply for 2 temporary memberships in a calendar year in a given discipline. The temporary membership fee is applicable to only one meet and shall not be refundable against a full membership if one is subsequently taken out. Swimmers competing in an event as a temporary member will not be representing a club but will swim as unattached. Temporary Competitor Members in an event will be entitled to awards, medals, etc. as defined in the event information. Doping Control.
