T that end, ur primary fcus is n the develpment f ur players, while prviding a fun and safe atmsphere. Hwever, we als strive t ensure that as ur players mve int the mre senir leagues, we prvide a level f play that is challenging and cmpetitive fr players that hpe t cntinue in baseball/sftball in the future. We accmplish this by fcusing n learning the basics and having fun in t-ball, farm, and AA, which are cnsidered ur instructinal levels. At AAA, we add sme additinal skills and begin t keep standings, thus intrducing a cmpetitive cmpnent t the sprt. Majrs is the last year n the smaller little league diamnd fr baseball, and in bth baseball and sftball, this is ur mst cmpetitive year. T-BALL BACKGROUND: This is slely a develpmental league where ur gals are t intrduce the basic skills f hitting, catching and thrwing, while learning sme f the basic rules. T-ball managers shuld strive t keep practices fun, while fcusing n ne r tw key skills per practice. We d nt keep scre, each batter bats every inning and the game lasts fr 3 innings. There are n uts and all players reach base safely advancing ne base at a time with the exceptin being the last batter wh hits a hmerun. Batting rders shuld be rtated t give every child the pprtunity t bat in every spt in the rder, including first and last. FARM BACKGROUND: Farm Ball is primarily a develpmental league. This typically is a Cach r Machine pitch league. Like Tee Ball, there is ne practice and ne 6 inning game per week. There is n scre, but players d make uts. This league is made up f Granby and East Granby players. Like T-ball, managers strive t make practice fun teaching skills thrugh games and/r basic drills. MINORS (AA / AAA) AA BACKGROUND: AA is typically made up f players between the ages f 8-10. AA ffers the players the first chance t pitch frm 46 feet. The games cntinue fr 6 innings, umpires are prvided and scre is kept. Hwever, there are n verall seasn standings in AA. The batting rder is cntinuus, meaning all players bat regardless f whether r nt they played in the field during a given inning. There are rules in place t limit excessive base stealing and t encurage pitcher and catcher develpment, as well as t maintain the pace f play in AA. There are typically three events in any given week with a mix f games and practices. The league is made up f players frm bth Granby and East Granby. PLAYING TIME: AA is still cnsidered a develpmental league therefre, players shuld rtate thrugh all psitins where permissible. Caches may decide nt t play a player in a psitin that they feel culd cnstitute a safety issue fr a player based n their level f develpment. At a minimum, each player will play 4 innings in the field and shuld be given the pprtunity t play infield at sme pint during a game. Players can be rtated thrugh the batting rder each game. Players will be substituted during a game, and n player shuld sit tw innings in a rw, nr twice prir t all players having sat at least ne inning. Managers shuld start the seasn rtating all players thrugh psitins and batting rder, hwever as the seasn prgresses, yu can transitin t mre f a set batting rder, and play certain players in psitins they pssess the skills fr. Hme games are played at Ahrens Field and there is travel invlved t ther area twns. The gal f junirs baseball is t prepare the player t play at the high schl level. BASEBALL PITCH COUNTS / REST PERIODS FIELD PREP / SHEDS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It is the respnsibility f the hme team t d field prep, bth pre and pst-game. This includes, but is nt limited t, raking and lining f the fields pregame and raking/ dragging f the field pst game. It is never the respnsibility f the umpire t prep the
field. If yu are unsure hw t prep the field r hw t use any f the equipment in the shed, please reach ut t yur cmmissiner r a member f the bard. We wuld be mre than happy t help. Game day field prep is a great activity fr parent/guardian invlvement If yu can invlve a few parents wh wuld like t learn hw t rake/line the field, it frees yu up t wrk with the kids. Please ensure that all Granbeast LL equipment is returned t the shed and that the shed is kept neat. Please duble check that the shed / field huse is cmpletely clsed up and lcked befre leaving the park. Please share the lck cmbinatins with as few peple as pssible. Only caches and Granbeast LL staff are allwed int the sheds and field huses. Players, children, parents/guardians, and spectatrs shuld NEVER be allwed. Parents have been seen viewing the games frm the upper viewing area. This in nt allwed. Shed cmbs Please keep in a safe place as we wuld like t minimize the number f individuals that have access t the sheds. Siblings, friends, and parents/guardians are required t watch games and practices frm the stands and/r ther viewing area utside the fence. An adult wh has nt cmpleted the backgrund check prcess shuld NEVER be in the dugut r helping with practice.
Please ensure that the duguts are cleaned ut after every practice r game. All trash and water bttles shuld be dispsed f prperly. If yu are finding the duguts r field huses are being left un-kept, please ntify yur cmmissiner. COACHING STAFF All caching staff must be apprved by the Granbeast Little League bard. Each team is usually allwed a manager and 2 caches, alng with a team parent. All caching staff and ANYONE wh wishes t help with the team, whether it be n the practice field r in any ther capacity, must fill ut and submit the apprpriate backgrund check frm. These frms can be fund n the GLL website. There will be NO exceptins t the rule. PLAYER SAFETY Please take the time t familiarize yurself with the Accident Reprting Prcedures. A full explanatin and necessary frms are available n the GLL website. Incident tracking will be used t evaluate effectiveness f the prgram and fr future reference. If the Safety Officer is unavailable, the President f GLL is t be cntacted. A Safety Incident r Near Miss that causes any player, manager, cach, umpire, vlunteer, r spectatr t receive medical treatment, including First-Aid must be reprted.
