The loss moved the Lady Tigers (0-1) in the consolation bracket. After only one game senior Brianna Lawrence leads the Lady Tigers in scoring with 22 points and seven rebounds per game. She also had four steals and two blocks in the season opener. Sophomore Michelle Cox scored 11 points while freshman Tiana Parker had three blocks in the first outing. In only his third season as the Lady Tigers head coach, he led the team to an OVC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth. 2014-15 also saw Inman reach a milestone as he recorded his 500th career win. He was also an inductee of the 2014 Middle Tennessee Hall of Fame Class. Inman, who was inducted into the Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame in 2009, served as head coach of the Eastern Kentucky women s basketball team from 1988-2008, compiling a 319-244 record and leading the Lady Colonels to two OVC Tournament championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances (1996-97, 2004-05). In being named OVC Coach of the Year eight times, he also directed EKU to five OVC regular season championships. He also led the Lady Colonels to the 2002 WNIT Sweet Sixteen. He is the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Valley Conference women s basketball history with his record of 504-349. Inman announced his retirement from Eastern Kentucky in April 2008. Prior to his retirement, Inman was the 27th winningest active coach in NCAA Division I. Inman is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, where he received his bachelor s degree in 1970. He received his master s degree from Tennessee State University in 1978. Inman is married to the former Bobbie Gene Follis of Shelbyville, Tenn. They have one son, Jody, and two daughters, Latrice and Tiffany. They also have seven grandchildren, Ashlyn, Hailey, Jackson, Austin, Brooklyn, Crimson and Eli. TSU got off to a dismal start against IU and only managed to score a total of 14 points in the first half. The Lady Tigers fell behind by as many as 45 points and trailed 50-14 at the half. The Lady Tigers showed signs of life in the second stanza and eventually outscored the Hoosiers, 42-38. Brianna Lawrence hit six three pointers in the contest and finished with 22 points but the deficit was too much to overcome. Michelle Cox also scored in double-digits with 11 points. ABOUT ALABAMA STATE Alabama State (0-1) managed to build a halftime lead over Southern Mississippi but ultimately fell to the opponent 65-44 in the opening round of the Preseason WNIT last Friday. Kayla Tucker led the team with nine points in 14 minutes. Jasmine Peeples was the second leading scorer with seven points to go with a team-best eight rebounds. The Hornets shot 31.0 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from threepoint range. ASU committed 24 turnovers and only made 11-of-20 free-throw attempts (55.0 percent). Alabama State is a member of the SWAC.

ABOUT SOUTHERN ILLINOIS Southern Illinois fell to DePaul in the opener and were led in scoring by Rishonda Napier s 15 points. Kim Nebo had eight rebounds in the contest. SIU is in the Missouri Valley Conference. Kollyns Scarborough led the Saints with 10 points while the team only managed a 26.5 percent from the field. Siena is in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). SERIES INFORMATION TSU will match up with Alabama State for the 19th time with Alabama State holding a 12-6 advantage. ASU claimed the last meeting between the two teams, 70-60, during the 2004-05 season. The last time TSU won was a 67-64 victory in the 99-00 season. A potential meeting with Southern Illinois would be the fifth time the two programs would match-up with the Salukis holding a 3-1 advantage. SIU claimed the last meeting, 89-68, on Nov. 11, 2011 while TSU s only win (57-43) was Nov. 10, 2010. Siena and TSU have never met before. In 2015, her daughter Briana Morrow won a championship with the Lady Tigers 20 years later.
