Annual Board Election Fairway Oaks HOA Board of Directors Annual Election will be held during the December 8 th HOA monthly meeting. All Board members are a non-salaried, voluntary position for individuals wanting to make a difference and improve the quality of life here in Fairway Oaks. The Coastal Management company has mailed Voting Certificates and Proxy forms to all residents of Fairway Oaks. Mail completed ballots to Mary Ann Syraski of Coastal Management before Dec. 8 th or attend meeting to cast your vote personally. The following Board of Director positions are to be voted on for 2016: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Director. The following list of candidates are asking for your vote in this election. Residents are to select five (5) names only for the 2016 Board of Directors. Advertise on the Fairway Oaks FL home page and web site! Home owners, businesses and individuals can now promote their business, special event or hobby on our new web page for a nominal fee. Special this year: since the web site is new, initial advertisers will get thirteen-months of advertising for the price of twelve months. Anyone advertising in 2015 will have their ad on the website through January 31, 2017. Each ad will cost an initial set up fee of $20 for a standard size ad 2 ½ by 3 or pixels of 450 x 258 with lines of text and graphic. Your own business card may be scanned and enlarged to fit this size and format easily. Advertising fees are set at $25 per year for a Fairway Oaks homeowner and $50 per year for a nonhomeowner or business. Wilderness Wonderland "Celebration of Lights" Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park 6:00 9:00pm Nightly Thursday to Sunday, Dec. 10-13, and Dec. 17-20 th Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department is preparing to light up Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park for the 19th year. Visitors will be welcomed into the cabin area to see lights dance to the festive music. Citizens can enjoy this event from the comfort of their car for a minimal $2.00 per vehicle fee. The music that is set for the lights to dance to can be heard by tuning radios into 89.5 FM. Many local businesses, organizations and volunteers have come together to make this event happen each year. Families must keep their eyes opened for flurries and visitors from the North Pole! Recipe of the Month Holiday Peanut Butter Cookies Makes about 4 dozen cookies Prep 20 minutes Bake at 375 for 11 minutes 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup red and green M&Ms 1/2 cup peanuts, chopped Heat oven to 375. Blend flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter and peanut butter in large bowl until creamy. Beat in sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Next on low speed, beat flour mixture into butter mixture. Stir in 1/4 cup warm water. Fold in M&Ms and nuts. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten slightly with your hand to form a 2-inch round. Bake at 375 for 11 minutes or until set. Cool on wire rack. 5
