EVENT RULES Entries to the Forbes Autumn Horse Show are entry on the day. No pre-entries to the Forbes Autumn Horse Show will be accepted. Entries in the Forbes Autumn Horse Show are $2.00 per class. Entry to ring classes will be granted in return for handing a $2 coin to the ring steward. Complaints are to be in writing, accompanied with a non-refundable fee of $50 and submitted to the Horse Office on the day of the event. Forbes P.A. & H. Horse Chief Stewards reserve the right to remove any competitor or person/s who are disruptive, argumentative or abusive towards the volunteers conducting this event. Unsportsmanlike behaviour will not be tolerated. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN ON ANY ENTRY MONIES PAID Forbes P.A. and H. Association Inc. reserves the right to use any photos taken on the day for promotion. Should you not wish to have your photos used please advise the Chief Steward prior to the commencement of competition. WAIVER OF LIABILITY FORMS All competitors must sign the relevant waiver of liability forms. Entries will not be accepted from any competitor without a signed copy. On submission of completed waivers, competitors will receive a competitor number for each horse entered. These numbers are to be shown to ring stewards when receiving placings/ awards during the competition. STALLIONS - Stallions/ colts must be handled at all times by a person over the age of 17 years and must be led at all times with a bit. GENERAL RULES Horses must compete in either the Show Hunter or the Hack Ring, they may not compete in both. In all rings, the Judge s decision will be final. A Judge may ask a competitor to remove his horse from the ring if, in their opinion, the horse or the exhibitor is ill mannered or is unfit to compete. If competitors do not comply with the directions of Judges, stewards or event organisers, they may be disqualified from the event and asked to leave the Showground. In such a case the competitor may be disqualified from competing in any section or class of the Show or any future Show without refund. An approved safety Helmet must be worn at all times when mounted, including in the warm up arena. Competitors must be suitably attired. A rider or competitor who is not suitably attired may be precluded by the Stewards from competing in any event. If a Judge considers that any exhibit does not possess sufficient merit to deserve a prize, no

award will be made. All horses, galloways or ponies competing in height classes must compete at their correct height. Any horse holding a current official measuring certificate will compete at the said measurement and will not be re-measured on the day. Exhibitors or their agents, when called upon by the Stewards, must prove the correctness of their entries. Should competitors not be in the ring at the commencement of their class they may be deemed disqualified from competing in that class at the Steward s discretion The Forbes P.A. and H. Association Inc. reserves the right to alter the program or judges at any time. The Committee reserves the right to substitute a Judge where deemed necessary. RESPONSIBILITY The Forbes P.A. and H. Association Inc. accepts no responsibility for any accident, injury or damage to competitors, volunteers, helpers or spectators including damage to goods, property or vehicles. All persons attending this event do so at their own risk. It shall be the condition of each entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Forbes P.A. and H. Association Inc. blameless, and indemnify it against any legal proceeding arising from any such accident. The Forbes P.A. and H. Association Inc. will not, under any circumstances, hold itself responsible for any loss of exhibits, or any damage there to. Payment of entry to the Forbes Autumn Horse Show will be taken as an acceptance of the Forbes P.A. and H. Association Inc. Rules & Regulations. DEFINITIONS Beginner: May compete in Ring 4 only (including Interschools, if suitably attired). Riding jackets not necessary. Novice : A horse or rider who has not won a 1st place in a similar event in the Open Ring of a Hack, or Agricultural Show. Intermediate: A horse or rider who has not won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in a similar event at any Royal Show Adult : A rider who has attained their 17th Birthday prior to the first day of the show. Child : A rider who has not attained 17th Birthday prior to the first day of the show. Local : A Pony, Galloway or Hack who is the property of the exhibitor who must reside within 50km of the Forbes Showground. Consolation : Classes for horses or riders who have been competing in similar events at this show and who have NOT won a ribbon on the day. Interschool Competitors: School aged children. Must be attired in school riding uniform with saddle cloth to compete in the Interschools classes.

Contact Number of Participant:... Email:... Agricultural Societies Council of New South Wales Limited and ( Name of Show)... (together the Suppliers ) advise that participation (including passive participation) in animal handling at an agricultural show contains elements of risk, both obvious and inherent. The handling of animals is a dangerous recreational activity as animals can act in a sudden and unpredictable way, especially when frightened or hurt. 1. By signing this waiver I acknowledge that: 1.1 participation in animal handling is a recreational service for the purposes of section 139A of the Australian Competition and Consumer Act (Cth) 2010, and also a recreational activity for the purposes of section 5K of the Civil Liability Act (NSW) 2002 ; 1.2 participation in animal handling is a hazardous activity and may result in injury, loss, damage or death to me; 1.3 participation in animal handling requires certain skills and experience. I declare that I have sufficient skills and experience to be able to safely and properly participate in the events; 1.4 animals can act in a sudden and unpredictable ways, especially if frightened or hurt, or if exposed to loud or unfamiliar noises; 1.5 animal showing events will be held in close proximity to rides and large groups of people, and that there may be loud and unfamiliar noises which can frighten animals; 1.6 if the event is held outdoors, there are risks to me as a result of the weather conditions, including either extreme hot or cold weather, rain or wind; 1.7 insects or other animals may cause animals to become frightened and act in an unpredictable way; 1.8 there is inherent in events involving the handling of animals the risk of suffering injury including injuries caused by animals; and 1.9 I use the facilities supplied for the event entirely at my own risk, as I find them and with the prior acceptance of the risk of possible danger to me. 2 If I suffer injury, loss or damage ( Loss ) while participating in an animal handling event, I will not hold the Suppliers, their employees or agents legally responsible for any Loss I suffer. I will not sue the Suppliers, their employees or agents for any claims, costs, damages or liability. I agree to release the Suppliers and their employees from legal responsibility for the services I have been provided and/or activity I have participated in. 3 I acknowledge and agree that my participation in the event and associated activities is dangerous and may have inherent risks as a result of which personal injury (and sometimes death) may occur. I acknowledge that the event and associated activities carry with them a significant risk of physical harm. I accept and assume all such risks of personal injury or death in anyway whatsoever arising from these activities and hereby waive my individual right to sue the Suppliers for all claims I or my representatives may have for such personal injury or death against the Suppliers in any way whatsoever arising from or in connection with these activities. 4 At the time of participating in the event, I have not been to any degree under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs. 5 I will not consume any alcohol or illicit drugs while participating in the Event and agree that such use may result in my being excluded from the Event or other events with no entitlement to any refund of money paid for entry to the Suppliers. 6 I agree to be bound by the rules and guidelines of the Agricultural Societies Council of New South Wales Limited as varied from time to time.
