Attention all 10 th, 11 th and 12 th graders: Are you undecided about what you want to be when you get older? If so, then take the ASVAB, a career interest inventory, that will be given here at Watkins Mill on February 26.
The ASVAB will help identify your strengths and match you up with careers that would be a good fit. The ASVAB is also for students who might want to join the military. Students need a signed permission slip which can be found on the College/Career Center page or in the Center. Thank you
On Wednesday Feb 17 there will be a college fair at Paint Branch HS for all high school students and their parents featuring 60 historically black colleges. The fair is from 6 pm to 8 pm. Students must register to attend. Take a picture of the link on one of the many flyers in the halls. Print out the registration ticket and take it with you to the fair. This is a great opportunity to learn about academic programs and scholarship opportunities..
The NAACP Scholarship for any minority senior with a 3.0 weighted GPA or higher and community service is available now in the College/Career Center. There will be several awards of $1000. The deadline has been extended until February 26. Now for some wolverine sports

Congrats to the Metro swimmers that competed this past weekend on Friday and Saturday. The Watkins Mill Wolverines competed in the 400 and 200 free relays for both boys and girls along with Naina Tasrni, Khava Tasrni, Lowell Brophy, and Peter Orban who competed in two individual events each as well! The boys 400 relay consisting of Peter Orban, Sawyer Conklin, Nahom Michael, and Lowell Brophy got a best time and ranked 27th overall in the Metro area.
The girls 400 relay consisting of Erika Wolf, Naina Tsarni, MacKenzie Allen, and Khava Tsarni finished 30th overall in the metro area. The boys 200 free relay consisting of Lowell brophy, Chase Soghomonian, Sawyer Conklin, and Nahom Michael swam on their best time, and getting fast splits.
The girls 200 free relay consisting of MacKenzie Allen, Khava Tsarni, Caitlyn Rishell, and Naina Tsarni also finished strong. Lowell Brophy competed in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke, dropping time and doing well in his heats. Peter Orban competed in the 100 back and the 100 free, racing some of the top competitors in the area.
Naina Tasrni competed in the 100 fly and the 100 breastroke, dropping time and placing higher than originally seeded. Khava Tsarni swam the 100 fly and the 200 free, finishing strong for this big meet. If you see any of these swimmers, please congratulate them on a job well done! The next meet will be Regionals, held this Saturday morning! Go Rines! And now a message from Mr. Johnson.
