CITY BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 2016 The eight teams have been placed into groupings based on Appendix 7 of the T.C.S.A.A. Constitution (year 3). Round 1 Games: Game A South #1 vs North #2 Game B West #1 vs East #2 Game C North #1 vs South #2 Game D East #1 vs West #2 TOURNAMENT FORMAT: 1 All games begin at 9:30 a.m. Teams should arrive at least 30 minutes before their first game. Quarter finals-boys Wednesday, March 2 Hoopdome 9:30 start Quarter finals-girls Wednesday, March 2 Hoopdome 10:30 start Semi-finals-boys Wednesday, March 2 Hoopdome 1:30 start Semi-finals-girls Wednesday, March 2 Hoopdome 2:30 start 2 The format for the city tournaments will be a double elimination. 3 The top two teams from the semi-finals will advance to the T.C.S.A.A. City Championship game in the evening of Friday, March 1 st at Brebeuf College (211 Steeles Ave East) beginning at 7:00 P.M. The schedule will be: Girls Final - 7:00 p.m. Boys Final - 8:15 p.m. 4. Qualifying schools must arrange for their own transportation.

CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS Friday, March 4 th, 2016 Brebeuf College 7:00 p.m. GIRLS Winner Game 7 vs Winner Game 8 8:15 p.m. BOYS Winner Game 7 vs Winner Game 8 TOURNAMENT NOTES Spectators: Quarter and Semi Finals All teams must watch the games from the designated areas. Due to limited spectator seating, please contact Nelli Domingues if you require a large seating space. Championship All spectators must remain in the stands. Supervision: This is the responsibility of the teachers/coaches, not the convenors. Please ensure that students in your charge are well supervised and obeying the rules established by Hoopdome and Brebeuf. Please help to ensure that students clean up after themselves. Food and Beverages: Food and beverages may be consumed in designated areas only and not in any change rooms. Change Rooms: Please do not leave any valuables in the change rooms. Keep all possessions together. Under no circumstances are there to be any spectators in the change rooms.
Parents and Coaches: Parents and Coaches should note that the teams are responsible for arranging their own transportation to all tournament games. Please ensure that the students have signed media consent forms. Inform site convenor if there is anyone who does not have a signed form. Schools will be required to bring their own warm-up balls and first aid kit. Please encourage students to bring reusable water bottles to the tournaments. Ensure that all students, athletes and school spectators are aware of and understand their TCSAA Responsibilities.
TOURNAMENT RULES 1 The quarter, semi and city finals games will consist of two twenty minute halves with stop time for the last two minutes of each half. In addition, stop time will take place during all free throws when the shooter receives the ball from the referee. There will be a 5 min. half time in each game. 2 Teams arriving late for the posted start time for any game, will play only the 2 nd half of the game starting with a deficit score of 0-20. Teams arriving after scheduled half time, or do not show for their match, will forfeit the game (0-40). 3 If overtime is required, it will consist of three minute periods until the tie is broken. 4 Each team will be allowed four time outs, taken at any time, during the game. There will be one time out for each overtime period. Time outs will be one minute in length. 5 The bonus rule goes into effect on the seventh team foul in each half. There will be a double bonus on tenth team foul in each half. If the game goes into overtime, player fouls are continued from regulation play. 6 A jump ball will only be used to start the game. The alternating possession rule will be used from that point. 7 A size 6 ball will be used in all games. 8 Inappropriate behaviour on and off the court may result in expulsion from further play. Please refer to TCSAA Responsibilities Chart for complete information. 9 Proper team uniforms are required. No jewelry (includes hair clips and hair beads), hats, bandanas, track pants or leotards are permitted on court during games. Jerseys must be tucked into shorts during play. 10 At this time, the T.C.S.A.A. rules do not allow a three point shot. 11 On a free throw rebounders may enter the key as soon as the ball has been released by the shooter. The first person lined up on the side of the key takes the first space on the foul line side of the bottom block. 12 There can only be two offensive rebounders lined up at the key during foul shots. ( There is a six player maximum line up in the key )

Turn right (east) on Sheppard Avenue. Turn right on John Drury Drive to enter into Downsview Park. Stay on John Drury Drive until first stop sign. Turn left on Carl Hall Road. Stay on Carl Hall Road and continue over the train tracks to the end of the road. You will pass the air museum, and veer to your right. You are at HoopDome. Park your car, and come on inside.
