NATIONAL INTERSCHOOL TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS NITTC 2016 GUIDELINES Background: With a view to produce more sporting champions and to have an Indian presence on the podium at the 2024 Olympics and other global sporting events, TTFI along with 11even Sports has embarked on a 10 year promotional and developmental plan through various laterals. We strongly believe that the road to Olympics begins at School. Hence, to achieve this objective, one of the laterals created is the National Inter School Table Tennis Championships (NITTC) with the idea of broad-basing talent, particularly at the school level, in the country. The first season of NITTC was held in 2015 which saw the participation of 19 States in the country. We aim to take this to all the States in the country in 2016. To achieve this we sincerely request you all to put your best efforts to make this annual developmental event bigger and better. Please find below brief information about the event: The brief information on the NITTC 2016: Aims and Objectives: To increase the base of the game To spread awareness of the game in Schools To provide a platform for young champions To identify talented players at a very young age To encourage and support all the State Associations To make Table Tennis the most played sport in schools Nature of the Event: The event shall be an Inter School Competition amongst all types of schools affiliated to various Boards (except Open School). This competition shall be a yearly event conducted in two Stages: Stage 1 - State Championships: It shall be conducted in one city of each State of India. The city shall preferably be the capital of the respective States. The winning Team in this stage shall be the State Inter School Champions - 2016 in that category. Stage 2 - National Championships: One State Champion Team from each State in each category shall qualify for the National Championships to be conducted at one venue to be announced. The winning Team in this Stage shall be the National Inter School Champions - 2016 in that category. All teams that qualify for the National Championships shall be provided accommodation, food and local traveling free of cost for the entire duration of the Stage 2 of the event. The qualifying teams shall bear only the inter-city traveling costs (Home City to the National Championships venue)....2/-

Together one team Nature of the Competition: Knock Out type Team Events. Number of Players per Team: Minimum 2 & Maximum 4. Format of the Match: Corbillon Cup type with maximum of 5 matches as below: First Singles: Second Single: Doubles: First Reverse Singles: Second Reverse Singles: A vs X B vs Y Any two players A vs Y B vs X All matches shall be of Best of 5 Games ; the team that wins three matches will be the winner. Period of competition: Stage-I: All state championships will start on the National Sports Day -29th August 2016 and will end latest on 31st August 2016. The number of days for the championships will be determined on the basis of the number of entries as below: 1. Entries up to 32 (in all four categories) to be conducted in 1 day 2. Entries from 33 to 64 (in all four categories) to be conducted in 2 days 3. Entries more than 64 (in all four categories) to be conducted in 3 days. Minimum entries per category: For Boys 8 teams and Girls 6 teams. Entry Fees: Entry fee per team, per category is fixed for all states at Rs. 1000 (only) per category. The entry fee is to be collected and retained by the organizer. Last date of Entry: Last date of entry will be Tuesday 22nd August 2016....3/-
National Championships: : 3 : This will be the Stage-II of the NITTC 2016 and will be held from 9 th December to 11 th December 2016 at a venue to be decided. Organizers responsibilities: The organizer can be the State Association STTA or a Local Organizing Committee LOC and they need to arrange for the below things at their cost: 1. To identify and book a suitable venue with sufficient space to fit 6 to 8 tables with wooden/pvc flooring and suitable lighting of 250-500 lux. 2. To arrange good quality Table Tennis equipment like 6 to 8 T.T. Tables with nets assembly, Umpires tables, Score boards, arena partitions, etc. 3. Toilet/changing room facilities; 4. Arrangement for clean drinking water and medical first aid; 5. Arrange for qualified technical officials; 6. To communicate and collect entries from schools, listing them category-wise, provide seeding and placing and the schedule (dates); 7. Coordinate with the media for coverage and publicity and arrange photographer; 8. Prepare Branding as per design and specification to be given; 9. Look for local sponsorships (all the money collected will be retained by you). 10. Local administrative expenses. 11. To coordinate with TTFI & 11even Sports. WHAT WILL THE ORGANIZERS GET & HOW?
