2013 IWHA VERSATILITY HIGH POINT PROGRAM Mission: To encourage new and renewed membership into IWHA: To encourage all IWHA members to participate in the Versatility Program and enjoy their horse s fullest potential and discover their own potential. General Rules and Nomination: General Rules and Nomination a Horse/Rider team for Illinois Walking Horse Association (IWHA) Versatility High Point Award Program: 1. Horse s Owner and Rider must be a paid IWHA member. (Membership dues must be paid before points are earned) 2. Horse and Rider are considered a team for the IWHA Versatility Award Program. 3. Nomination form must be filled out completely and legibly. (Horse/Rider team must be nominated and form sent to the records person before any team can show to earn points in this program) 4. Enclose $20.00 nomination fee for Adult, $10 nomination fee for Youth. Each Fee will cover (1) horse/rider team for (1) year in all divisions. Rider must select on nomination form as to either Novice or Regular and Adult or Youth for each division. (Refer to Novice Criteria and Youth Criteria) 5. Additional Riders on a horse previously nominated cost $10. 6. Horses can be TWH s and SSH s. Rail classes for non-registered TWH or Single Registered SSH are restricted to Country Pleasure. SSH are allowed to compete in all other Versatility Divisions. 7. The Versatility Committee reserves the right to change the high point rules on a per show season basis to reflect the growing trends in Versatility and to meet the needs of the IWHA 8. TWHBEA Versatility Rules will apply for all classes. SSHBEA rules apply for all SSH only classes. 9. The committee reserves the right to make changes to the program that benefits the entire program and not one team over another. All showbills are subject to change by show management. 10. All nominated riders must show a horse or volunteer at an IWHA show in the 2013 show season for points to be awarded. Novice Criteria 1. Horse/Rider team must not have earned 3 blues in any Versatility division in which you are nominating for. You may have an AMATEUR Horse with experienced rider (No trainers) or Amateur Rider with experienced horse.(an experienced horse can be a supreme or superior versatility champions). No Licensed Trainers please. 2. Must be an IWHA member. 3. Must declare Horse/Rider team as Novice in specified IWHA Versatility Division. 4. Horse/Rider team cannot be nominated in both Novice and Regular Divisions but can nominate Novice or Regular in separate divisions. 5. Horse/Rider can nominate at a show. Please do not pay for High Point Nominations on your show bill. Pay separately to IWHA Versatility. 6. Horse/Rider Team may compete and earn points in novice and/or regular versatility classes. 7. Novice Team May continue to earn points in the novice division in the year that the 3 blue ribbons criteria has been achieved only.
Youth Criteria 1. Open to Youth 17 and under. If youth turns 18 in the year they are competing they will continue to earn youth points for the remainder of that calendar year. 2. Youth 17 and under are required to wear protective head gear during the show. 3. Youth can nominate in a Regular Division but cannot nominate in both Youth and Adult. 4. In shows where there are both Youth and Adult versatility and Rail classes, the youth will only earn points in the division they are nominated for. 5. Youth that show in combined youth and adult classes will have their points count towards their division they are nominated for so long as there is not a corresponding youth class. Divisions for Nomination: Model: Model, Showmanship at Halter, Promotion, Good Seat and Hands Dressage: Green Test #1, Levels l, ll and lll Western Events: Western Riding, Basic Reining Patterns 1-6 Games: Water Glass, Egg &Spoon, Ride-A-Buck and other non-timed events based on luck, skill or process of elimination. Events: Pole Bending and Barrel Racing Trail Obstacle: Trail Obstacle & Obstacles at Halter Driving: Obstacle Driving, Versatility Driving and Pleasure Driving 2 Gait Pleasure: English, Western, Open and Casual Dress 2 Gait Pleasure 3 Gait Pleasure: English, Western, Open and Casual Dress 3 Gait Pleasure Team Competition: Ribbon Race, Pantyhose Race, Friends & Family et al (There is no Novice division for team competition) Judged Rides: Distance, Endurance, Judged Trail Ride and Extreme Trail/Event Out of State: All Classes in all Divisions at Out of State Shows (Will not count towards p points in other divisions) SSH: All SSH only classes. Halter, Soggy Around the Poles, Hunt Class etc (SSH only classes will not count for points in other divisions)
Point Values and Tabulation 1. Points will be tabulated through the third week of October to be awarded at the IWHA Fall Banquet and Awards Ceremony. This may be adjusted if there is a change of date for the banquet. 2. Points will be tabulated per Horse/Rider team nominated. 3. All classes at Out of State shows are their own separate division. The Out-of-State division will follow the Single Point Values and will be combined for point tabulation. They will be tabulated in Adult and Youth categories. 4. SSH Division is for all SSHBEA classes at shows where single Registered TWH or Non-Spotted horses are not allowed to compete. Classes will be combined for tabulation like the Out-of-State Division. 5. Team Competition Division that includes one nominated Horse/Rider Team and will be awarded points based on the Single point show. If both teams are nominated the point system for each team will follow the double and Triple point tabulation at IWHA shows. There is no Novice Division and Adult and Youth are combined. All non-iwha shows will follow the single point scale. 6. If there is less than 4 entries in a class then all Horse/Rider teams will be awarded 1 point for that class at Single Point IWHA Shows and out of state shows, 1 ½ points and the Triple Point Lincolnland TWHBEA Regional Versatility Show and ½ of a point at all Non-IWHA Shows 7. Horses making the gate will be considered In-Class. An excused horse will be tabulated into the number of horses in the class. 8. Horses not making the gate, no show, or scratch will not be tabulated into the number of horses in the class. Awards 1. All Awards to be given at the IWHA Fall Banquet and Awards Ceremony. If not in attendance please make arrangements for collection of awards. 2. Certificate awards will be issued for Champion and Reserve in all divisions. 3. Tiered awards may or may not be awarded based on funds and participation 4. IWHA Logo awards may or may not be used. 5. The Versatility Committee will be responsible for choosing the awards and levels of awards Lincolnland TWHBEA Regional Versatility Show High Point 1. The Versatility Committee will establish the criteria and award for the Lincolnland show high point. The criteria will be printed on the showbill and posted in the show office during that show. 2. The Lincolnland show high point may or may not be a paid option to participate in. Show Results 1. Please send in copies of signed showbill, results for all Out of State and Non-IWHA show 2. Include the number of horses in each class. Not all online results will include the actual number of horses that competed in that class 3. IWHA and Lincolnland Show Results will be gathered from the show office. 2013 Lincolnland TWHBEA Regional Versatility Show High Point Program 1. There is no entry fee for the show high point Program. Purpose: To Award the Horse and Rider Combination for their teamwork and skills. 2. Horse and Rider combinations must choose a primary rail division and only earn points in that rail division. Single registered SSH must choose the Country Pleasure Division 3. Horse and Riders in divisions that are allowed to show up can ride in the higher divisions but will only earn points in their primary rail division for this show and this program. Example: Trail Pleasure will not earn points in Lite Shod rail classes. 4. Each Division will have thirteen (13) classes in the show to compete for show High Point. 5. Adult and Youth are two separate show high point programs and will not compete against each other. 6. Open/Multiple division canter classes, Novice Trail Obstacle, Jackpot Trail Obstacle, Team Classes, Hunter Hack, SSH and Gaited Speed Events are not in the show high point program. 7 Combined Adult and Youth classes will be used and points will be awarded based on the division you are earning points in (Adult or Youth) 9. TWHBEA Versatility Rules will be followed for all classes/ WHOA HIO rules will be used when not in conflict with TWHBEA Versatility.
