C: Course Details Course Name Circuit of Chelmorton, Flagg & Monyash for the High Peak Road Race Course Description The Riders will ASSEMBLE at 10.00 am promptly outside the Chelmorton Institute, Main Street. PROCEED (neutralised), behind Lead Safety Warning Car, down Main Street in a southerly direction. Turn left at Townend Farm and onto unclassified road to climb the hill and turn first right, sign-posted Flagg, and stop after 200 metres for the neutralised START (2.48 km). The course will comprise:- The START (MARSHALING POINT A ) The Riders will proceed downhill, continue toward Town Head S bends (MARSHALING POINT B = 420 m) after which the race will be deneutralised, continue through Flagg (MARSHALING POINTS C = 1.36 km), continue past Townend Farm (MARSHALLING POINT D = 2.04 km), continue onwards until turn right at Hubber Dale (lower) (MARSHALING POINT E = 2.48 km), proceed past Dyke Head Farm (MARSHALLING POINT F ), continue onward towards Monyash, immediately before entering Monyash turn sharp left (MARSHALING POINT G = 4.32 km) onto and climb Horse Lane, a narrow unclassified road, at Red House turn left (MARSHALING POINT H = 6.42 km), continue past incoming minor road from Sheldon (MARSHALING POINTS I = 6.66 km), continue through the FINISH (MARSHALLING POINT J = 8.91 km), continue through Hubber Dale (upper) (MARSHALLING POINT K = 9.46 km), continue onwards for a further 2.01 km past Taddington Moor (MARSHALLING POINT L = 10.47 km), continue toward Chelmorton for a final left turn (MARSHALING POINT M ) to complete circuit. The total Circuit distance is 11.3 km. Complete 5 laps, and then continue on circuit for 9.3 km to Finish. The approx. total race distance is 67 km or 41.8 miles. The FINISH is opposite the lay-by on the straight flat minor unclassified road leading north westwards from Red House approximately 500 metres from junction with Hubber Dale (upper). See attached Section D for Course Map for further details. 6

E: CYCLE ROAD RACE RISK ASSESSMENT - COURSE SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONS Location Hazard Possible Harm Main Street, Chelmorton - outside the HQ @ the Institute Pedestrians, animals, cars, cyclists, and other traffic using the same road. Collision with the hazard causing possible damage to bikes, vehicles, other personal property and / or personal injury to people. Controls to reduce risk to acceptable level Riders, supporters and spectators will be asked to either use the small car parks or to park tidily on Main Street so as to cause minimum inconvenience to residents and to reduce the risk of any collision. The Riders will ASSEMBLE at 10.00 am prompt and wait until the Race Organiser signifies that it is safe for them to proceed in preparation for a neutralised start. Resultant Risk risk(s) in this area are Main Street, Chelmorton. As above The riders will proceed (neutralised) down Main Street behind the Lead Safety Warning Car, in a southerly direction. The Race will remain neutralised. risk(s) in this area are 8

Location Hazard Possible Harm TURN LEFT at Townend Farm on unclassified road to climb the hill Riders turning left into oncoming traffic and as above Controls to reduce risk to acceptable level The riders will be stopped by a temporary marshal at Townend Farm, the junction of Main Street and an unclassified road from Farditch Farm, and will wait behind the Lead Safety Warning Car until it signifies that it is safe for the riders to proceed. A temporary Warning Sign will be placed on the unclassified road coming eastwards from Farditch Farm before the junction with Main Street. The above temporary marshal and warning sign will be relocated elsewhere on the circuit once the race has passed through. The riders will continue to ride behind the Lead Safety Warning Car until the top of the hill. The riders will proceed for 200 mts down Flagg Lane where they will, stop and dismount to prepare for the START proper. 9

START - neutralised Riders setting off and as above The Race Organisers, Race Controller & Safety Officer, Timekeeper and other officials will be deployed at the Start which will also have relevant signage and flags. The riders will start in three groups (maximum 40 riders in each) previously handicapped several minutes apart according to age and ability. The Race Controller will give a pre-race safety briefing with clear instructions that riders must take care: to ride on the correct side of the road at all times (particularly at the S bends going through Town Head - where the road narrows ¼ mile after the start), riding past parked cars on Flagg Lane. at the right turn towards Monyash, at the left turn immediately before entering Monyash, particularly the raised metal grate, riding up the narrow Horse Lane, turning left at Taddington Moor, and at the Finish risk in this area are The Timekeeper will give instructions for each of the groups of riders when it is time for them to start. A Start Warning Sign will be erected at an appropriate place adjacent to the Race s start line. Three Cycle Event Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside:- One to warn west bound traffic near the junction with the unclassified road coming from Hubber Dale and the junction of Flagg Lane (Marshalling Point M ), One to warn east bound oncoming traffic from Chelmorton, and One to warn upcoming north bound traffic on Flagg Lane. 10

S bends at Town Head, Flagg Lane (MARSHALING POINT B = 0.42 km point) Other oncoming traffic and as above The race will still be neutralised through the S bends on the first lap thereby enabling the riders to evaluate the traffic conditions and road layout. A temporary marshal will be in place to signify the de-neutralisation of the race. Three marshals will be placed at Marshalling Point B1 & B2:- One to warn upcoming traffic from Flagg, and One to warn traffic approaching the circuit from the unclassified lane at Back oth Hill Farm One to warn the riders of the approaching bends of the possibility of oncoming traffic ahead, reduced from medium to Two Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside to warn traffic:- One to warn traffic travelling North from Back oth Hill Farm, and another to warn upcoming traffic travelling north westwards on Flagg Lane from Flagg village, Continue through Flagg (MARSHALING POINTS C = 1.36 km point) Traffic coming either northwestwards from Monyash or approaching the circuit from Moor Lane and as above Two Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside: one to warn traffic coming onto the course from Moor Lane, and a second to warn oncoming traffic from Flagg Hall, Dependent upon traffic conditions on the day one discretionary marshal may also be deployed here. 11

Townend Farm (MARSHALLING POINT D = 2.04 km point) Right turn at Hubber Dale (lower) (MARSHALING POINT E = 2.48 km point) Traffic approaching the circuit coming northwestwards from Monyash via Moor Lane. and as above Riders turning right across oncoming traffic from Huber Dale (upper) and other upcoming traffic from Monyash and as above A Warning Sign will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside to warn traffic coming onto the course from Dyke Head to the south east of the possibility of oncoming cyclists ahead. Dependent upon traffic conditions on the day a marshal may also be deployed here. Two marshals will be placed at this junction:- one on the corner to warn down-coming traffic from Hubber Dale (upper) and also to direct riders, and one further down toward Dyke Head to warn upcoming traffic from Monyash, of the possibility of oncoming cyclists. Two Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside:- one to warn traffic coming onto the course from Hubber Dale (upper), and one to warn upcoming traffic from Dyke Head, risk at this junction are reduced from medium to Dyke Head Farm (MARSHALLING POINT F point) Other traffic approaching the circuit down a minor lane from Flagg southeasterly direction and as A marshal will be deployed on the corner of the minor lane coming onto the course from Townend Farm to warn traffic they are re-entering the circuit of the possibility of oncoming cyclists. A Warning Sign will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside on the minor lane to warn oncoming traffic re-entering the course risk(s) at this junction are 12

Immediately before entering Monyash turn sharp left onto Horse Lane a narrow unclassified road. (MARSHALING POINT G = 4.32 km point) Other traffic approaching the circuit in a northerly direction from Monyash and oncoming traffic down Horse Lane and as Four marshals will be deployed at this junction:- one will be placed at the furthest point back up the course toward Dyke Head that they have visibility of both the riders approaching and Horse Lane junction. They will be issued with a whistle to warn their colleagues that riders are immediately approaching, one marshal will be placed to direct riders left onto Horse Lane and to warn traffic coming down Church Street from Monyash, and one will be sited further up Horse Lane to warn down-coming traffic of the possibility of oncoming cyclists ahead, and one marshal will be sited on the apex of the bend to warn riders of the metal grate standing proud of the road surface. risk(s) at this junction are reduced from medium to Dependent upon traffic conditions on the day two marshals with whistles may also be situated at separate points further up Horse Lane where the riders and down-coming other road users sight lines are restricted. Red House LEFT TURN toward Chelmorton (MARSHALLING POINT H = 6.42km point) Riders turning left into traffic coming from Bakewell and oncoming traffic from Hubber Dale and as above Two marshals will be placed at this junction:- one to warn traffic coming from Bakewell, and one to warn upcoming traffic from Hubber Dale and to direct cyclists left, Three Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside to warn traffic:- one to warn traffic travelling from Bakewell, one to warn traffic travelling from Hubber Dale, and one on Horse Lane to warn down-coming traffic, reduced from medium to Sheldon minor incoming road (MARSHALLING POINT I = 6.66km point) As Dependent upon traffic conditions on the day a marshal may also be deployed here to warn traffic of the approaching course A Warning Sign will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside to warn traffic travelling toward the course from Sheldon 14

Dependent upon conditions on the day a second discretionary marshal may also be deployed to supplement this function. Two Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside to warn traffic:- one to warn traffic travelling from Townend Farm, and one to warn traffic travelling toward the course from The Jarnett, 15

Taddington Moor (MARSHALLING POINT L = 10.47km point) As Two Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside to warn traffic travelling toward the course from minor country lanes on either side of the circuit of the possibility of oncoming cyclists ahead. Final left turn at Taddington Moor toward Flagg (MARSHALING POINT M = 11.3km point) to complete circuit As Two marshals will be deployed: one to warn the oncoming traffic from Chelmorton (and to direct the cyclist to turn left), and one to warn up-coming traffic from Flagg, Three Warning Signs will be erected at appropriate places on the roadside:- two at a distance of 200 metres apart to warn travelling from Chelmorton, and one to warn up-coming traffic from Flagg, reduced from medium to 16
