2/27/2018 Dear Official, We would like to thank and congratulate you on your appointment. Without the hard work and dedication of officials our carnivals could not run, your time and effort is greatly appreciated. This document contains a brief summary of important information regarding briefings and debriefings, breakfast, clothing, and parking. Briefings Area Referees & Sectional Referees will be required to brief all Surf Sports Officials in their respective competition areas at approx 7:30 am each morning of competition. Area Referees and Sectional Referees will have a briefing by the Event Referee on each competition day from 7am. Each afternoon there will be a de-brief for all Surf Sports Officials at Swansea Belmont SLSC at the conclusion of all of the day s events. Pool of Officials If you have not been allocated to an area, then report either to the daily briefing at 7am in the clubhouse or at admin to be allocated to an area by the Deputy Refere Catering A general reminder that officials should not rely soley on catering supplied by the event. Officials are expected to bring their own water bottles at the start of the day of competition. Officials are encouraged to bring their own snacks for sustanence throughout the day. Etiqutte All catering is prepared, arranged and delivered or placed out by volunteers, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and debrief. Please respect our key people who are volunteering to keep you hydrated and fed. Breakfast A simple continental breakfast will be available each morning for all Surf Sports Officials. Where: Swansea Belmont SLSC Time: 6:30am onwards Debrief: The catering at the debrief is intended to be only a light snack and not a meal. Please bear this in mind. Officials Kit Age, Masters & Open Your Officials Kit can be collected from the Administration Office located South of Swansea Belmont SLSC. Kits will be available for collection during the following hours and MUST BE collected personally by the official nominated only. Your kit will not be issued to anyone else under any circumstance. Officials Kit Pick up for Age Championships 1 March between 3:00pm and 6:00pm 2 March between 6:30am and 4:00pm 3 March between 6:30am and 4:00pm Officials Kit Pick up for Masters Championships 6 March between 3:00 pm and 6:00pm 7 March between 6:30am and 4:00pm Officials Kit Pick up for Open Championships 8 March between 6:30am and 6:00pm 9 March between 6:30am and 4:00pm 10 March between 6:30am and 4:00pm Official Dress Code - Clothing The dress for Surf Sports Officials will be a white shirt, shorts/skirt (navy or white) and hat or cap. All Surf Sports Officials are requested to wear red accreditation name badges (if received). A number of Officials will receive one 2018 NSW State Championships shirt and with event partner ClubsNSW on the back, a wide brimmed hat and a wrist band. It is imperative that NO Surf Sports Official enters the competition arena with any: a. Club identification b. Branch identification c. Sponsors identification (except any recognised event sponsor) Car Parking for Officials Parking at the Club is very limited and unfortunaltey there are simply not enough spaces for all officials. Sectional Refeeres and other key officials will be issued a parking pass. There are two paid parking sites for $15 per day, (one north of the surf club) and at the Blacksmiths Soccer Oval on Gommera Street. It is recommended that you arrive early for these parking areas. Alternatively there is plenty of parking in and around backstreets. Please also car pool where possible. Similar to last year a shuttle bus will be available for Officials coming from nearby accommodation in Swansea and Belmont.
What To Bring Please bring your own sunscreen and water bottle. Water refill stations will be placed in each area and will be regulary filled up by the Club work party throughout the day. Officials Extended Debrief (formally Officials Recognition Night) The Officials Extended Debrief will be held on Friday 9 March at Swansea Belmont SLSC from 5pm 7pm to recognise the efforts of all of our officials, recognise our Championship Referees (all SLSNSW Championships) and officials with long standing service. Catering for the extended debrief is only light finger food. Please take this into consideration as it is not intended to be a meal.
