May 19th- Odds or Evens This is an individual 18-hole stroke play, gross and net event. You will register on the day of the event. June 2 nd - Shiembob Stroke Play (MAJOR) Winners in each division will be awarded crystal at the Men s Club Closing Day banquet and names will be added to the Shiembob Trophy. June 8 th & 9 th Hartford Cup This is a Ryder Cup style event that takes place annual. Teams from Keney Park Golf Course Players Club and Goodwin Park Golf Course play a home and home event with the first day being hosted by Keney Park Golf Course and the second day hosted by Goodwin Park Golf Course. Tournament Fee: $TBD June 30 th - Hot-ball Tournament This is a four-person team event. Teams will register in the golf shop, each team will receive a hot ball from the golf shop before the start of the event. Teams will rotate the play of the hot ball on each hole, for example, Player A will play with and hole out with the hot-ball on hole #1, Player B will play with and hole out with the hot-ball on hole #2 and so on throughout the round. Teams will note on what hole they lose the hot-ball. Prizes will be awarded to the lowest 18 hole scores (Gross and Net) or the team that completes the most holes with the hot-ball. per person
Thursday, July 4 th - $50 Cash Skins Game (Gross and Net) This event is reserved to the first 144 players to register. Men s Club Members will have the first right to register. The registration deadline for Men s Club Members is Wednesday, June 20 th. After June 20 th the professionals staff will open the event to the public. This will be a 9am Shotgun start. Tournament Fee: $50.00 Cash only. Does not include greens fee or optional golf cart. All participants will receive the weekend resident rate. July 7 th - President s Trophy Qualifying (MAJOR) Based on your handicap, you will be put into a four-man flight and play three six hole match play matches. The winner of each flight will advance to an 18 hole stroke play event on Sunday, July 12 th. In case of a tie in division play both/ all players will advance to the finals. The winner of the President s Trophy on Sunday, July 12 th will be determined by the lowest net score. Registration deadline is June 30th, pairings and match schedule will be posted by Wednesday, July 3rd in the golf shop and GPGC website. July 14 th - President s Trophy Finals (18 holes net individual) (MAJOR) The winner of each flight, from July 7th, advances to this 18 hole net stroke play event. The winner of the President s Trophy will be determined by the lowest net score. August 25 th - Beat the Pro Take your best shot at Head Golf Professional Joe Mentz. Your Net Score vs his Gross Score. Tournament Fee: $5.00-$50.00 Your bet will be doubled if you win if you do not win you earn you bet in golf shop credit, tie goes to the pro For example, if you place a $50 bet and beat the pro you will be awarded $100 in golf shop credit. September 8 th - 4 Person Progressive This is a 4 person team event. Each player will play his own ball. September 28th & 29 th - Greater Hartford Amateur Championship This is a 36 individual Gross and Net Championship. The first round will be played at Keney Park Golf Course. The second and final round will be played at Goodwin Park Golf Course. Prizes will be awarded for Gross and Net scores in the following divisions: Overall Championship, Senior Championship (50-64) and Super Senior (65+). Tournament Entry Fee: $150, includes greens fees both day and lunch after final round. Optional $15 cash skins for round 2 only. October 6 th - Goshdigian Cup (Team Goshdigian is defending the CUP) This is a GPGC Men s Club only Ryder Cup Style event that places TEAM GOSHDIGIAN vs TEAM MENTZ in an 18 hole match play event. The first 6 holes will be two person scramble, second 6 will be two person fourball, and the final 6 will be individual match play. Each match will be worth 1 point; a half earns ½ points. Winners will be awarded golf shop credit. This event is limited to the first 60 members to register. The registration deadline is September 23 rd.
