STLGA GENERAL MEETING July 29, 2016 President, Roz Dahlen, called the meeting to order at 2:06 P. M. The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes Jo Larson made a motion seconded by Bobbie delagarde to accept the minutes as recorded on the STLGA website. Motion passed. Treasurer's Report Karen Barnhart read the treasurer s report. A motion was made by Janet Keppler and seconded by Maureen Foley to accept the report as read. Motion passed. Member At Large Kate Goodrich was absent. Roz asked the members to forward any suggestions or ideas to Kate. Handicaps Jo Larson had no report. Tournaments 1. Ellen Lehrer thanked everyone present for participating in the 2 Member/Member Tournament. She thanked Joyce Hellmann for chairing the event. 2. Ellen and Mary Alice reminded everyone that the 4 Member/Member Tournament will be held on August 24, signup sheets are in the JB Clubhouse. The format will be a Team Stableford. 3. Ellen has the rules bag tags for sale for $1. 4. Roz said there is a lot of work that goes into running this organization and urged all members to get involved. There is a large need for volunteers. Hopefully the calendar will be available at the Annual Meeting so people can check their calendars and volunteer. 5. The results of today s tournament will be posted on the STLGA website.

Committee Reports Awards Jenni Barratt and Nancy Santisi had nothing to report. Rules Pam Fisher was absent. Birdies and Chip-Ins 1. Linda Perna reported that there are 158 Birdies by 47 ladies, Debbie Isley has 9, Mo Spada has13. 2. There were 102 Chip-ins by 49 ladies, Paula Jones and Jo Larsen have 5 and Louisa Clatterbuck has 8. Historian 1. Kathy Ivey asked all of today s winners to stay after for pictures. 2. Roz said this was the last year of the scrapbook as we are trying to go digital and will put information on DVD. Interclub 1. Louise Sensenig said she needs 2 players for Sandpiper August 6. 2. She also has 10 places for Farmstead on August 20. Ladybirds 1. Mo Spada said we have played in 8 tournaments and are doing well. There is a 4- way tie of 5 wins each for Marge Layden, Joan Mason, Louis Sensenig and Mo Spada. 2. Gayle Edmonds had an eagle and will receive an award at the Ladybirds Luncheon on Nov.2 at St. James..

3. Ladybirds will play at Magnolia Greens on August 16, Lockwood Folley on August 29 and St. James on September 19. The club championship will be here. Mentor Elaine Poston introduce our new member Kay Fowler. Publicity Diane Carcich was absent. Kathy Blaine will continue the Bag Drop article in the Sea Trailer. Roz said we will use Facebook moving forward. Social 1. Kaye Evans thanked Louise Sensenig, Betty Ann Potvin, Sharon Markatos and Louisa Clatterbuck for providing a delicious lunch today. 2. She asked for volunteers to meet with Regina to plan the social for the Club Championship on September 23 at Magnolias. 3. She also asked for volunteers for the Coffee/Meeting on September 27 to bake goodies. Sunshine Gloria Lee had nothing to report. Old Business No old business. New Business Nominations 1. Roz Dahlen, Karen Barnhart and Cheryl Campbell will run again. There will be nominations needed for the Vice-President and Member at Large. 2. The nominating committee is: Linda Perna, Pat Sutton and Joyce Hellmann. 3. Roz said the description for each position is available on the STLGA website. 4. The slate will be presented at the September 27 meeting and the vote will be taken at the annual meeting on November 1. Fun Days Roz suggested that we look into the possibility of having Fun Days here at Sea Trail. Other courses offer them and they are a lot of fun.

Rally for the Cure Candy Fowler and Sandy Reynolds presented their plans for the 20 th Anniversary Rally for the Cure involving STLGA. Over the 20 years $107,000 have been collected. The goal for this year is $20,000. Activities will include an evening event at Magnolias including music by a band, a wine pull, golf events, etc. They encouraged members to solicit donations from local businesses.they also asked members to send in an email to Sandy any pictures from past rallies. Golf Advisory Committee 1. Andrew Galbraith said the Jones greens project had the first cut today and are they are hoping to re-open the Jones course in early September. 2. The teal tees will get new markers: large discs. 3. New flags will replace the current ones and will be the traditional red, white and blue. They will appear on the Jones course first. Results of the 2 Member/Member Tournament: Joyce Hellmann There was a match of cards for all winners. Captain s Choice: 1 st Candy Fowler and Sandy Reynolds (32) 2 nd Nancy Flaherty and Jo Larsen (32) 2 Net Ball Aggregate: 1 st Micki Vollmer and Eleanor Mulford (68) 2 nd Ellen Bombolis and Paula Jones (69) Better Net Ball: 1 st Betty Ann Potvin and Annette Laputka (30) 2 nd Kay Fowler and Pat Gooding (30) Modified Alternate Shot: 1 st Kathy Blaine and Mary Lou Miller (31) 2 nd Linda Perna and Joan Mason Overall Winners: 1 st Jenni Barratt and Nancy Santisi (169) 50/50 was won by Betty Ann Potvin. 2 nd Roz Dahlen and Karen Barnhart (170) 3 rd Loretta DeVita and Mary Alice Jerome (171)
