Minutes from March Meeting -President Tom Constantine opened the meeting at 1:05PM. -Old Business -- Thanks and a round of applause were given to Bill and Jeanette Rudolph for another excellent feed. The weather was not so great but we had high attendance and had a good time in spite of the weather. -- The idea for a picnic get together has been resolved to be a combination picnic and swap meet to be held at Indian Springs Park, the expected date will be September 20 th. Details will be posted as they are available. --Springfest Volunteers are needed for judging the show. A number of people threw their names in the hat but more are needed. If you would like to help contact Lillian Law. --- Please send in your pre-registrations. Not only does it save you a couple bucks but it makes it far easier to plan for the food needed for the banquet and help needed for events. --- If you have not made hotel reservations for Helen you should do so right away before all the rooms fill up. --- Discussed the Tech session that Lanny Milbrandt will be doing at Helen. Ted Fahrenthold and Tom Constantine will help out as well. The subject will be special Corvair tools. A number of common and not so common (home made) Corvair tools will be displayed and discussed. ---Door prizes are needed for the Helen show. Bring something, collect something from a local vendor or volunteer to help canvass the supporting vendors in Helen (contact Lillian Law for details on helping collect door prizes in Helen. -New Business -- Jeanette Rudolph questioned why we had meetings on Sunday. No one could come up with a very good answer except that we think many moons ago the Smyrna Library meeting room was only available to us on Sunday and it became habit. By an overwhelming majority people would prefer a Saturday meeting. Voted and approved meetings will henceforth be on Saturdays! The following people were in attendance: Ted Fahrenthold Keith and Sharon Burkingstock Martin Thomas Tom Constantine Bill and Jeanette Rudolph Robert Birkinbine John O Harra Lanny and Melody Milbrandt Al and Paula Hilderbrand Nan and Dan Cook Dick and Suzanne Burgar Richard Ivie Russ Thuleen Billy Cannon Michael and April Cobb Paul Llewellyn Roger King Tony Kruzich Tom Rabb Byron Pugh Page 2

Please Register Early for Springfest 2014 and the Autocross as we need to order lunch in advance. Only pre-registered can order lunch. This year s selection is Ham, Turkey or Chicken Salad sandwich. Just to clear up some questions about the AutoCross (Auto-X) at SPRINGFEST this year. Several guys have asked: Q. WHY SHOULD I AUTOCROSS? A. BECAUSE IT'S THERE!!!!! Q. Is it $15 per car or $15 per driver? A. $15 per DRIVER...The car will be inspected and as many drivers as you paid for can drive that car. Drivers will NOT be inspected but we may stamp each drivers butt "PAID" for ID. Note: Each Driver must be REGISTERED for Springfest to participate in any event. Registration also gets you Hospitality Dinner Friday night. Q. What does the inspection consist of? A. Secure seat belts, brakes(pedals up), Tire(safe tread), battery(tied down securely), accelerator(good return spring), Fuel(no leaks), oil(no leaks), Steering(not sloppy), driver(head screwed on tight)... Q. Why is it limited to 4 runs? A. The limit only applies to the number of timed runs for competition purposes. We will try to start timed fun runs (test & tune) about 10am Friday morning. Break for lunch (See SPL NOTE) about Noon and start TIMED Competition runs at 1pm till done. If time permits, we will then try to have more fun runs. SPL NOTE: Thanks to my Lovely wife Paula, she has arranged for the deli in Helen to pre-order a bagged lunch for $6. Lunch will be Sandwich, chip, pickle and a cookie. We are required to order the lunches one week in advance of the show so you may register for Springfest and the AUTO-X Friday morning but lunch will not be offered unless you are PRE-REGISTERED DRIVER or HELPER. You may order as many lunches as you need (family, friends, etc...).the Deadline for ordering lunch will be April 12th for PRE- Registered Driver or HELPERS. Helpers will also get a Pancake Breakfast FREE Saturday Morning. THE PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR THE AUTO-X IS APRIL 12th AT THE STROKE OF MIDNIGHT... Don't forget CLARK'S CORVIAR will attend this year s Springfest!!!! REMEMBER: If you have never AUTOCROSSed before, we all had a first time. All you need is Money, a Corvair with Seat Belts, we will loan you a helmet, and walk/ride you through it! This is an excellent course to learn on... TRY IT! YOU"LL LIKE IT!!!! More info come...still need helpers... -Al Hilderbrand Hilderbrandal@aol.com Page 3
