R Auction Thank You! Thanks to all the quilters who came out and bought my stuff... haha Thanks to all the ladies who came out to help get the r auction items organized. And to those who helped it move along in the evening. And to those who helped clean up. Each one of us are so important to make it run smoothly. I am going to try to name everyone. Placemats were given to the individuals who receive Meals on Wheels 160 in the Spring and 158 in the Fall. Quilts were given to the following 26 quilts to Benton House and 26 quilts to Grace. Thank you to all that shared your time and talents to make something special for these listed. 3
Program News DEC 6 - Christmas Party - Atlanta s Finest, 7981 Highway 78,Winston, GA 30187 Details to follow. The January day program is full everyone that signed up should have the instructions and supply list. Reach out to Annie Kellum if you have questions SUNSHINE Here it is cold winter and we find a few folks who need sunshine! Please remember Paula Miller is recovering from knee replacement. As a member of that club, I can tell you it is not fun so keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Also remember Linda Jones and her husband as he continues his treatments.. Remember it is hard on the caretaker too! I hope 2019 finds us needing less sunshine and everyone is healthy and strong in the New Year! (Since we won't have another meeting, please contact me by phone, text, email etc. to let me know if Sunshine is needed!) Cherokee Rose Quilters Guild Meeting Day Meeting, November 8, 2018 Emma called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the October minutes was made by Jill Hill and seconded by Ramona. November birthdays were recognized. Committee Reports Beekeeper: Annie reported the bee at Paula Miller s house was well attended and enjoyed by all. Christmas Party: Terry shared that the menu has been set. Please sign up and pay your $20. It is December 6 th. Start arriving at 6:30; dinner at 7:00. At Atlanta s Finest Catering on Bankhead Highway west out of Douglasville. Community Service: We have 100 placemats collected for Meals on Wheels. Hoping for 160. Lap quilts for memory care units are still being collected through November. Golden Scissors: Rachel explained the basic guidelines and called for us to register our quilts to be recognized for our hard work. Newsletter: Information due by Sunday after the night meeting. Historian: Pictures are on GroupWorks. Programs: Annie introduced our guest speaker today, Elisabeth Frolet. Stitch-A-Rama: Held in October was well attended. Good food and fun! The next one is tentatively scheduled for February. Check schedule. Sunshine: Bonnie reported that Linda Jones husband is in treatment, Terry Tinsley s husband has health issues, Gail Ford s sister-in-law passed away and Paula Miller just had knee surgery. Membership: Today there are 32 members and three visitors present. Door prizes were awarded. Ways and Means: Will draw four tickets today. New Business: Presented the budget for 2019. Short discussion about allocation of funds for the Stitch-A- Rama. Voted on budget and officers. Jeanne Andersen added to slate of officers as Day Secretary. Next Thursday is the November night meeting because Thanksgiving is on the regularly scheduled week. Voting on budget and officers will take place for those who did not vote in the day meeting. Cherokee Rose Quilters Guild Meeting Night Meeting, November 15, 2018 The meeting was called to order by Ramona Tucker at 7 pm at Sutton Hall. Birthdays for the month of November were recognized. Treasurer: See Report in My Grove. Bee Keeper: November Bee was held at Paula s home. Next Bee will be held in January of 2019. Challenge Quilt: Theme for 2019 will be announced at the Christmas Party. Christmas Party: Coming Soon!! Thursday, December 6 at Atlanta s Finest. See Sarah if you still need to buy tickets. Community Service: Terri will deliver lap quilts to Douglasville Grace Rehab residents and fall/holiday themed place mats for Meals on Wheels. Membership: Present at this meeting were 40 members and 3 visitors. Newsletter: Please submit all pertinent info to Libby Armstrong asap! Photographer: Members who received a service award this year will gather for a group picture at the Christmas party. Programs: January Day program is full. January night program on Hexies to be presented by Broach and Albertha. Stitch A Rama: Dates for 2019 will be announced after they are determined. Ways and Means: Multiple drawings were held before the evening program. No reports from: Golden Scissors, Historian, Sunshine. NEW Business; Awilda Cruz presented the proposed slate of officers and the budget for 2019. Members who had not voted during the day meeting were provided with ballots.
