President s Message I know I keep saying this each month, but it amazes me how fast time is going and how quickly the 2015 rodeo will be under way! By the time you read this we will be roughly 45 to 50 days out from the start of the rodeo. Reno Rodeo will kick off with a concert on June16th featuring this year s Little Big Town! We are very excited to bring back the Reno Rodeo kick off concert, especially with such a great group! Everyone is working together and this teamwork is paying off greatly for the Reno Rodeo. A number of committees are either in full swing with preparations for their special events and assignments or are getting ready to get started in the very near future. The Reno Rodeo Reading Roundup has already visited a number of schools, and the Manpower Committee is getting things lined up for ordering badges and 2015 Officers President Larry Stacy Treasurer Ron Hostetler Secretary Bill Summy aiding committees with their staffing needs. Tickets sales to the 2015 rodeo are up and Reno Rodeo s brand is getting out into the community. Speaking of Reno Rodeo getting out and about, we have been on the road again with our brand on wheels, the Reno Rodeo chuck wagon, which showed off its beautiful new canvas cover in parades at the Oakdale and Clovis Rodeos, and the Red Bluff Round-Up. Congratulations to the new officers and directors on the recent election! We had a very good turnout at the luncheon on April 23rd, and I hope you will be able to join us for the May luncheon on the 21st at the Eldorado. Check the calendars in this Bullsheet for various meetings, activities, and other events you may want to attend. I d like to express my appreciation to the Officers, Executive and Finance Committees members, Directors, Members, Wranglers and various Emeritus people who are working so hard to make Reno Rodeo a success! Let s get ready to rodeo!!! Happy trails! If your committee has information to include in the Bull Sheet, please submit by the 25th of the this month. General Manager s Message Hello all, just a quick note to say thanks for making Shannon and I feel very welcome here in our new home! We appreciate your acceptance of us into your fold as well as your generous offers of help in any way. This has made our first two months a pleasure, solidifying the decision to move and join your ranks! I hope l have made the same impression for you; I m really looking forward to this year s rodeo and seeing first hand the success of everyone s hard work! In the time I ve been in the office, I have attended a wide variety of meetings as well as two members luncheons, and met many new faces. I am impressed with the number of persons involved with this organization, along with their commitment and desire to make Reno Rodeo the great event it is. To that end, there have been a few new additions to this year s line up. We just recently conducted a Reno Rodeo Idol contest, to choose our National anthem singers and we have joined with our radio station partner Cummulis to host a kickoff concert headlining Little Big Town. Also, we have a new VIP section available for purchase called the Branding Room. Plus Janelle and I will be representing the office staff in the business men s steer decorating contest. I hope to continue to meet members of the association as we roll along, and are sure to during the rodeo! Until then thank you and feel free to drop me a note. Cowboys, horses, and helping kids.it s a great combination and we are honored to assist our local educators, says Francine Donshick, Reading Roundup Committee Chairman. Generous support from the Wells Fargo Foundation and Sundance Books, makes certain that each child receives two books to take home and keep. Students will also receive ticket vouchers to the 2015 Reno Rodeo in June along with goody bags from Smokey Bear.
