It marked their highest three-point percentage in a game where they made at least 13 three-pointers in franchise history. The previous best was.619 (13-21) on Nov. 22, 2005 versus the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. The last time the Cavs shot at least.765 in a single game was Nov. 8, 2000 against the Knicks (.857, 6-7). (Elias Sports Bureau) MILES ON FIRE: In the 111-93 victory over Philadelphia on Jan. 7, C.J. Miles recorded a season-high 34 points on 11-18 (.611) shooting, including 10-14 (.714) from the three-point line, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes. The 10 made three-point shots is a Cavaliers record in a single game (Previous record: 8, four times). Miles went a perfect 5-5 from the three-point line in the first quarter, which ties the team record for most made three-point shots in a quarter. Miles eight made shots from the three-point line in the first half is also a Cavs record for most three-pointers in a single half (Previous record: 6, four times). He is also one of four players in NBA history who made eight three-pointers in a half (Kobe Bryant-2003, Tracy McGrady-2004, Deron Williams-2013). (Elias Sports Bureau) WORKING OVERTIME: The Cavaliers have already played in six overtime contests this season, which is their most since 2006-07 (seven overtimes). Cleveland s six overtime games are also tied for the most in the NBA (Milwaukee, Washington) this season. The Cavs are 4-2 in the extra five-minute period and are tied with Philadelphia for the most overtime wins this season. For the first time in team history, the Cavs played in three straight overtime contests at home (Dec. 26-Jan. 2). (Elias Sports Bureau) ANDY TIES CAVS REBOUND RECORD: In a 87-81 overtime win over Orlando on Jan. 2, Anderson Varejao recorded his seventh double-double on the season with a season-high tying 18 points, a career high 25 rebounds, three assists and one block in 39 minutes. He tied the franchise record for rebounds in a single game that has been held by Rick Roberson since Cleveland s second season in the NBA (March 4, 1972, 25 rebounds in a 130-123 win at HOU). With his 25 rebounds versus the Magic and Tristan Thompson s 21 rebounds on Dec. 4 vs. DEN, the Cavs have two players with 20-plus rebound games in the same season for the first time since 1994-95 (Tyrone Hill 11/20/94 & Michael Cage 3/4/95). Varejao also set other marks in the win over Orlando (box on right). VAREJAO S 25 REBOUNDS VS. ORL ON 1/2/14 *Tied the franchise record for rebounds in a single game (Rick Roberson, 3/4/72 at HOU) *Set a new Quicken Loans Arena record for rebounds in a single game (Prev. 23 rebounds, by Varejao on 10/30/12 vs. WAS and by New Jersey s Kris Humphries on 3/23/11). *Tied the franchise record for rebounds in a single half with 16 boards in the 2 nd half (Prev. Elmore Smith on 2/2/78 vs. WAS and Zydrunas Ilgauskas on 1/2/98 at UTA) *Set the Quicken Loans Arena record for rebounds in a single half with his 16 boards in the 2 nd half (Prev. 14 in a half by Varejao on 10/30/12 vs. WAS and by Orlando s Nikola Vucevic on 4/7/13) GETTING OFFENSIVE: From Dec. 10-20, Cleveland scored at least 107 points in five straight games for the first time since December 19-28, 1993. HISTORICAL NIGHT: For just the 3 rd time in Cavaliers history, a Cavs player tallied at least 40 points, nine assists and four steals in a single game when Kyrie Irving put up those numbers against Atlanta on Dec. 26. The only other times that feat was accomplished in Cavaliers history were March, 5, 2008 (LeBron James, 50 points, 10 assists, four steals at NYK) and March 13, 1979 (Campy Russell, 41 points, nine assists, four steals vs. PHX). (Elias) IRVING SWATS FOUR SHOTS: In the win over Milwaukee on Dec. 20, Kyrie Irving had 39 points on 13-25 (.520) shooting, six assists and a career-high four blocks in 42 minutes. Since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74, Irving is the only Cavs guard to post 39 points and four blocks in a single game. ANOTHER P.O.W.: On Dec. 16, Kyrie Irving was named as the NBA s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Dec. 9-15. In three games during that week, Irving averaged 29.0 points on.508 (32-63) shooting, including.409 (9-22) from beyond the arc and.933 (14-15) from the foul line, 6.3 assists and 2.3 steals in 34.3 minutes per game. His 29.0 points per game average was the highest among all Eastern Conference guards that week and second-highest among all East players. He posted the highest field goal percentage among all players in the conference who had at least a 21.0 points per game average (minimum three games). He was also one of two players in the East to record multiple 30-point games and the only one to record at least 30 points and 10 assists in a single game. Irving won the award for the second time of his career (Jan. 21-27, 2013). LIGHTS OUT: In a 109-94 victory over the New York Knicks on Dec. 10 at The Q, Cleveland shot a season-high.568 (42-74) from the field. That was their highest shooting percentage since December 28, 2011 when they hit.571 of their shots at Detroit.

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS TEAM NOTES (CONTINUED) JUST LIKE WORLD B. FREE: In the Dec. 10 win over the Knicks, Kyrie Irving posted his third double-double of the season with a game-high 37 points on 14-23 (.609) shooting, including 4-7 (.571) from three-point range, to go along with a game-high 11 assists, one steal and one turnover in 36 minutes. He became the first Cavs player since World B. Free on March 29, 1986 (43 points, 11 assists, 0 turnovers) to tally at least 37 points and 11 assists, while having one or fewer turnovers in a single game. Before Irving, the last NBA player to accomplish that feat was Kobe Bryant on December 29, 2009 (44 points, 11 assists, one turnover versus Golden State). DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE: In an 88-82 win over the L.A. Clippers on Dec. 7, Cleveland held Los Angeles to 28-87 (.322) shooting from the field, a seasonlow by a Cavaliers opponent. The last time Cleveland held an opponent to.322 shooting or less was November 18, 2003 which was also against the L.A. Clippers (.319). Cleveland also held them to 7-35 (.200) shooting from the three-point line and outrebounded the Clippers 60-45. The 60 rebounds were a season-high for the Cavs and the first time hitting that mark since February 25, 2011 versus New York (62 rebounds). RARE NUMBERS: In a 98-88 win over Denver on Dec. 4, Tristan Thompson, who had 13 rebounds in the first half to tie for the 3 rd most in The Q s history for most rebounds in a single half, finished the night with 17 points, a career-high 21 rebounds and a season-high three blocks. The only other player in Cavaliers history with a game in which he equaled or exceeded Thompson's totals in each of those categories (since the NBA began tracking blocked shots in 1973-74) is Cliff Robinson, who had three such games for Cleveland (two in 1982-83 and one the following season). BLOCK PARTY: Cleveland blocked a season-high 13 shots in a 98-88 win against Denver on Dec. 4, the team s most since March 16, 2004 (13 blocks vs. CHI). The Cavs have also had consecutive 10-plus blocks performances this season (10 blocks versus Philadelphia on Nov. 9 and 11 blocks at Chicago on Nov. 11) for the first time since swatting 10 or more shots in consecutive games on Dec. 5-6, 2008 (10 blocks vs. IND, 10 blocks at CHA, respectively). The Cavs already have five games with at least 10 blocks this season (11/4 vs. MIN, 11/9 vs. PHI, 11/11 at CHI, 12/4 vs. DEN, 12/20 vs. MIL) after only having two such games in 2012-13 (1/4/13 at CHA & 3/6/13 vs. UTA). (Elias Sports Bureau) 41 AGAIN: In a win over Washington on Nov. 16, Kyrie Irving tied his career high with 41 points on 14-28 (.500) shooting, including 4-7 (.571) from deep, a perfect 9-9 from the foul line, four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 42 minutes. Irving had 18 of his 41 points come in the 4th quarter (9) and overtime (9). It was the 3 rd time in his career he has scored at least 40 points (41 at NYK on 12/15/12 and 40 vs. BOS on 1/22/13). Irving also scored 39 points in a 127-125 doubleovertime win over Philadelphia on Nov. 9, when he also became the 3 rd Cavs player to ever tally 39 points, five rebounds and 12 assists in a single game (LeBron James and Mark Price). NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE - CANTON CHARGE CANTON CHARGE UPDATE: The Canton Charge, the NBA Development League team owned and operated by the Cleveland Cavaliers, returned home after an eightgame road trip to knock off the Maine Red Claws, 99-94, at the Memorial Civic Center on Monday afternoon. Canton is now 11-3 when holding opponents under 100 points, as they came into the game boasting the second-ranked scoring defense in the D-League allowing just 97.8 points a game.
